Well, at least they had an igniter here today. Tamerane could feel the icefire engine turning on, a low hum in the air. Her father took in a sharp breath, but the Aranians were oblivious to it. That was another stupid thing: most Aranians were not resistant to icefire, and yet their superiors were messing around with it. The man jumped down the ladder, picked it up and ran without even folding the ladder. The bottom of the ladder was the last thing Tamerane saw before the door shut. They waited in silence.
