Chapter 11Eli held his breath as they drove up the road. They were going slightly uphill, but it wasn’t much of a rise. The forest was dense around them, and despite being in the car, he could smell the earthy scent outside. The longer they drove the more hopeful Eli got. This far away from the main road, Jaecar couldn’t get many visitors, no uninvited ones at least. “This is lovely.” Jaecar nodded. “I like it. It gives me the freedom to roam. You can’t shift in the city, and where I lived before I only had a garden, no land.
