“Wow. It looks as if your mouth is going to rip.”
I finished yawning and turned my head to the other side in my arms, ignoring those words. I’d been napping at my desk since first period, knowing the teacher wouldn’t mind.
Someone was poking at my shoulder.
“Wake up, Wendy,” came Irene’s voice.
“No,” I moaned. “Go away. Let me sleep some more.”
“Mr. Reyes lets you sleep in his class, but you know Mrs. Bonite won’t, so get up.”
“Shut up. I’m still tired from yesterday.”
“It was the most fun that I had for awhile,” someone else spoke and a muscle clenched in my cheek when I gritted my teeth. “I can’t believe she tried on that dress inside out.”
