I ponder Andy’s words for a moment. He’s right, of course, but what I am confused about, why did he tell me all of these? I mean, I’m only an Iota. I’ve nothing to do with the current Alpha nor leadership. My duty was taking care of patients, learning herbs and medication, and probably managing the herb stocks in the storage room.
Andy then startled me by flicking his fingers to my forehead. “Ouch!” I yell.
“You need that! Let’s go back to Serene. She may be wondering if I’ve kidnapped her precious student.”
I smiled to hear that. Yeah, I loved it—Elder Serene’s student. I’ll learn and work hard and repay what she had done to me. Not only had Elder Serene saved my life literally, but also, she gave me a new life figuratively.
