The Nun

1435 Words
(Ariel's POV) I have been sitting awake half of the night, it is two in the morning and I still haven't slept. I finally feel tired enough to close my eyes at least though. I jolt awake screaming in terror. "IT IS HERE. THE NUN IS HERE. WE HAVE TO LEAVE." I scream as I run to grab Ariel. I lift her over my shoulder and run out of our room, down the hall, into the lit lobby. I sit Ariel down on the arm chair and start stacking the other tables and chairs against the doors. It is so dark outside, what if the nun already got down here with us? Even worse, what if the nun is inside? My eyes widen in fear as I begin to stack faster, completely panicking. "Ella, what is happening?" Ariel asks me cautiously as she slowly stands up. "The nun came after me, us. I carried you from our room to the lobby, then I put the chairs and coffee tables in front of the doors incase she followed us." I say as I look around for any sign of the nun. I can feel it, she has to be close. "I won't let the nun get us." "Ella......" Ariel starts to speak calmly but abruptly stops when their is banging on the door. Ariel and I jump back and hide under the one table I left. "She's here. She is going to kill us Ariel. I don't really want to die especially not from the nun." I cry into Ariel's shoulder. We are going to die. I feel like I have came close to death so many times that I shouldn't be afraid anymore, but I am. "It is okay Ella, we won't die. I told you I will protect you right?" Ariel whispers to me as she rubs my back. I know she is trying to calm me down but I can feel she is scared too. The look on her face only confirms it. "Yeah you did." I say right before we hear glass shattering from the near by window. We both jump further into each others arms and squeak in fright. Don't take me please, just leave my friend and I alone. "I don't know if you can..n..n.. save us from the nun Ariel." I whisper in a stutter with so much fright. Shadows emerge, slowly breaking into the lobby through the broken window and Ariel and I squeeze our eyes shut screaming bloody murder. This is it, we are going to die. "If this is how we die i want you to know your my best friend and I wish I knew you my whole life. " I whisper into Ariel's ear as my lips tremble and tears begin to stream down my face. Something touches my shoulder and I jump, pulling Ariel with me, while kicking my foot out. Trying to buy us as much time as I can. "Oumph.... Jesus Ella did you really need to kick me. What is wrong with you two?" Justin asks while grunting in pain. I peek my eyes open and see the boys standing in front of us, looking at us with concern. I look over to Ariel and she breaths out a sigh of relief, wiping the few tears on her face. "I really saw my life flash before my eyes right there." Ariel says in relief. "You okay Ella?" "WHAT IS WRONG WITH YOU GUYS? FIRST IT IS THE MIDDLE OF THE NIGHT, SECOND YOU JUST BROKE A WINDOW AND CAME AFTER US LIKE MURDERERS. SERIOUSLY?" I scream in fustration, I literally felt like I was having a heart attack and they thought it was a great idea to barge in here without even announcing it was them. "It is okay, Ella. Everything is fine. " Ariel says reassuringly as she wraps her arms around me. I know she is trying to calm not only myself but also herself, so I let her be. "You do not need to scream, do you not have an inbetween button. It seems you are whispering, singing like an angel or yelling." "Listen, Ella. You are probably right, it was not the smartest idea to come through a window in the middle of the night but the door wasn't budging. We tried multiple times." Justin says as he looks at Ariel and I in concern. Travis nudges him, causing him to look over to where he is pointing. Showing all the tables and chairs I piled in front of the doors. "Oh." "Want to explain who did that and why?" Travis ask as he continues to point at the door. He seems amused, but why? "Ella carried me from our dorm room all the way here and then barricaded the doors for safety." Ariel whispers out, but we could all hear her. "She did what?"Aron questions with his mouth hanging. "How did she possible carry you that far and move all that furniturewith no help?" Justin asked in shock. "Maybe it was an adrenaline rush, you know when your so scared for your own safety you can preform unbelievable things." Travis says, half serious half joking. "Why did she do that?" Aron asks in worry, he seems like he is scared something happened and he was not there to stop it. "The nun came after us. I had to save Ariel and myself. You are lucky to be alive." I say in panic as I look around once again. "The nun isn't real." Justin says seriously. "Wasn't the movie made based off a real event though?" Aron says in amusement. Is he serious? How can they tell me she isn't real if she is based of a true event. I shrink more into Ariel's arms, hoping they swallow me whole and keep me safe. Justin and Travis nudges Aron in the stomach with their elbows at the same time. "Shut up idiot." Travis says as he glares at Aron. Why is he so mad? Was Aron joking or telling the truth? "That is not true, Ella. The nun is a made up movie, I promise." Ariel says as she holds me closer. "Even if the movie was real, we would never allow anything to hurt you guys." Justin says sincerely as he puts a hand on my other shoulder, reassuringly. I feel calmer with him around. "Should we put all these tables and chairs back and sweep up the glass mess from breaking the window?" Travis asks. He seems like he doesn't want to but knows we have to. We all nod our heads and begin moving everything back. The tables are majorly heavy and I am not really sure how I moved them in the first place. "They are to heavy." I whine as I sit in one of the chairs exhausted. Ariel plops down next to me, leaning her head on my shoulder, "I agree. Just because Ella went all hulk for a few minutes does not mean either of us can do it again. Justin chuckles in amusement, "Why don't you girls go clean up the glass instead?" We both nod and walk to the glass, I sweep while Ariel picks it up with the dust pan and throws it in the trash. She doesn't trust me to close to the glass. Once we are done, we turn to the boys and see they have finished. "Thanks boys. I think I am exhausted now thought so Ella and I are going to sleep." Ariel says as she reaches back and grabs my hand. She looks at my face for a few seconds and then turns back towards the guys, sighing. "Will you guys sleep on the floor in our room? I think Ella and I will feel much safer that way. Then hopefully we can sleep without another one of these incidents." "Yeah good with me." Aron says, maybe a little to excitedly. "Sure sis, I'm sure we can manage for a night with you two." Travis says in amusement. "If it will help you both sleep, sure." Justin says as he looks at me with concern. It isn't my fault I am scared of the nun, they are the ones who took me to a scary movie in the first place. We all settle back into our dorm room, they boys each in their own little comforter and pillow on the ground. We left the light on and Justin moved a dresser in front of the door for me. He is so sweet. I fall asleep knowing he will watch over me.
