Regina I still couldn’t figure out how my battery cable had come loose. I hadn’t visited a mechanic in over a year, and the last time anyone was under the hood was for a routine oil change a month ago. Jeff had driven my car home from the restaurant, just to make sure that nothing else in the car had been tampered with, but he arrived home with no incidents. Which made me conclude that it was just an unlucky accident. Like Jeff had suggested, it must not have been tightened fully the last time someone serviced the battery. I preferred not to dwell on the fact that the car was less than two years old, and I had never had to replace the battery.
