Chapter 20: Session
Ridge drove the Buick northeast toward Erie on Highway 20, which was also known as West Ridge Road. The day was hot and humid, which made the air conditioning feel as if it were nothing. Damian studied the flat landscape and took in the farmland and green woods. Life was peaceful in these parts, minus a nameless serial killer in the area. Families were religious with many ethics. High school farm boys worked for their muscular daddies, and daughters were shy. It was a shame to know that this part of the world was the Highwayman’s stomping grounds. Young men were being killed almost every day, and Ridge and he couldn’t find the murderer behind all the blood. It was devastating for the families, as well as Damian, to learn of those beloved young men who had their throats
