"That is also great aunt you can go ahead and chose the women that you think are capable enough to learn from her."
"Yes Hugo but there is also one thing, we need at least women who will be be cleaning and cooking in the pack house since you already said we can't have any slaves how will the cleaning and cooking be done?" She asked.
"Well aunt you can make a list of all the teenagers who live in the pack house and each day five of those will be doing the daily chores and the other five the following day and so on you can even appoint cooks for each particular day. All I want is for everyone to be doing work and since you have more experience in cooking, cleaning and stuff, you can teach them how to do these things. It will be quiet beneficial if all the teenagers could learn these things."
" yes you are right, I will go make the list." With that she left.
"Wow your idea seems to be working." Lucas commented.
"I know right if many people continue like this then our pack will become richer and unstoppable."
"Alpha Hugo," The former third in command Marianno said with a small bow. I hadn't yet chosen a new third in command since I hadn't found anyone capable enough and his son was still young. So the post of third was still vacant.
"About ten of our men had go out to look for work today and the results were favourable. They were able to earn about €100 each please allow them to come and present their 20 percent before you."
"Sure." I said and each man came in introduced himself and handed over their money.
Once they left marianno began speaking again. " Many teenage boys have also agreed to join in the self defence system alpha and about six men have joined in the hunting group which was formerly a group of five."
" That's good to know. Can you look for people in this pack who are skilled in building? We need to start building the school, hospital and a new pack house as soon as possible. I don't want to see those orphaned kids who live in the barn to be living there forever. I want their living conditions to change. In fact before you can go and look for the builders, can you go and tell Aunt Lily to gather up all those kids and find them a place here in the pack house. They are about six of the orphaned kids right?" I said to him. Aunt lily was his wife and she was best friends with aunt Clara.
" yes alpha." He responded
" good I have seen two vacant rooms in this pack house, she can find a way to make the kids share the rooms but otherwise I don't want to see them in that barn anymore and also tell her to find them something to do."
"Yes alpha I will do that right away." With that he left.
"Alpha can I give you an advise if you will allow me." Uncle Adrian said.
"Uncle Adrian please just call me Hugo don't refer to me also alpha."
"Yes uh Hugo. Since there are only two of you new leaders, it would be really hard for you to handle everything alone. Why don't you appoint more people who will help you? Like for example since you yourself are working, you need someone who will help look over the building project for you and also someone who will be in charge of the finances."
"Yes uncle I know about that but I am not sure who to choose I still need to think about it. But you can also be in charge of the builders Right?"
"Yes of course you don't have to worry."
"Thank you uncle." I said and he left.
"Dude I'm exhausted." lucas said falling back on the simple couch that was in the office.
"I know me too."
"Hugo, Lucas." aunt Clara came into the office. "Dinner is ready and the kids are eager to see you Hugo."
"Thanks aunt." I said and me and lucas went to the dining table.
It was the table which was reserved only for the alpha family while the others had to eat somewhere else. This is the rule I needed to change as well. I didn't want my pack members to fear me. I wanted to interact with them and know each of them better than I did back then when all I ever did was clean the house and do laundry and cooking.
"Dada." I heard a voice say and little Angel came crawling towards me and giggling. I can't believe she just called me dad
"Hey little Angel." I said picking her up as she giggled wrapping her tiny arms around my neck.
"Someone missed me now isn't it?" I said to her tickling her a little.
She looked so much better happier and livelier even though today was our second day in this pack.
"Hi alpha." anelesse said about to take angel from me but angel held me real tight not wanting to let go.
"Hey Anne you don't have to worry I will feed her."
Anne looked a lot happier as well and Kind of taller and prettier huh probably my imagination.
"Alpha me and Anne learnt how to cook today." Mia gushed out excitedly as I sat down. "We even help aunt Clara and aunt Lily in roasting the chicken go on try it." She urged on pushing the chicken plate my way.
I took a piece and it was extra delicious.
"Wow it's really nice girls you did a great job." I complemented
"See Anne I told you he was going to like it." Mia gushed out again as Anne blushed.
"Thank you alpha we were following your advise about learning a skill." Anne said
"I can see that." I said continuing with my dinner whilst feeding Angel who was enjoying my comapany and also telling me about her day in her baby voice.
"What about you, Maria and Arabella, what did you learn today?" I asked them.
"Well alpha grandma Kristen was teaching us how to knit and sew clothes." Arabella responded and Maria nodded her head.
"That's good so what did you knit?" I asked
"Well it's not done yet but we will show it to you once it's ready." Maria quickly replied.
" okay I can't wait to see what you girls will make." I said.
I Was About To feed Angel again when I noticed that she had fallen asleep in my arms.
I looked at Anne who was busy side glancing Lucas who was also doing the same. Could it be that they are mates? But Anne is to young to find her mate she hasn't even shifted yet. And Lucas? Isn't he too old to be her mate I mean he is eighteen and she turned thirteen just a few days ago ? Oh right it is possible the age gap isn't too big.
"Anne." I decided to interrupt their staring contest.
"Yes alpha." She quick stopped looking at Lucas who also stopped looking at her and focusing on his dinner.
"Angel is now asleep mind taking her to bed?"
She got up from her sit and took Angel from my arms while I looked at Lucas.
"Why are you giving me those looks?" he asked.
"I don't know maybe you should tell me." I said crossing my arms. I didn't know whether they were mates or not but if they weren't and Lucas was going to use her as his play toy then I wasn't going to allow it. Anne was a sweet little girl and as an elder brother I wasn't going to let a guy play with her feelings even if that guy is my best friend.
"Well I have nothing to tell." He responded I was about to say something when--
"Alpha! Alpha! look at this!" Creeya giggled showing me a book.
"What is this princess?" I asked her looking at the book.
"It's a painting alpha I learnt how to draw and write today." she squeaked happily.
"Wow this is really good princess I am so proud of you. Keep up the good work okay." I patted her head.
"Thank you Alpha!" She giggled again running off to where Anelesse disappeared to.
"Good night alpha we are going to bed now." Mia said and she, Maria and Arabella went to bed.
I turned to look at Lucas.
"What?" he asked
"What's up with you and Anne? I saw you both looking at each other."
"Well it's nothing we weren't looking at each other."
"Are you sure about that?" I asked
"Yes I am sure."
"Luc I know you are hiding something from me so fess up." I commanded he sighed
"I think she is my mate."
"You think?" I asked raising an eyebrow at him.
"I mean I know it. She is my mate but don't worry I am not going to make a move on her until she has shifted and has recognised me as her mate but I know she can feel the bond." He responded while I smiled
"Congrats man why didn't you tell me earlier?" I questioned.
"Uh hello you came back yesterday and had a lot of things to deal with so I thought of waiting until we both had gotten into a routine."
