Chapter 12Despite the way his instincts screamed Ralf was in danger, Geoffrey had no intention of simply walking up to the manor door. Having given the area a thorough examination previously, Geoffrey approached it from the far side where the forest encroached on the wall surrounding the manor. Geoffrey circled the manor widely before finally making his way to the place he’d identified as easiest to breach the wall. Scaling one of the trees, Geoffrey opted to then leap across to another whose lower branches had been cut away as a security precaution but whose upper branches overhung the wall.
