CHAPTER THIRTY

Bellia’s Point Of View

We got to where we were going safely. The taxi didn’t run very fast because our trip here was mixed with stories, the taxi driver was easy to get along with, so Matthew gave him a bonus for paying our fare here. We went down to a convenience store and then I followed them on foot towards where only they knew where we were going.

I am wearing a Puff Style sleeve plaid black mini dress and I paired it with a Born Ellen gathered back boot colored black, this mini dress I’m wearing is not mine but for Bianca, Matthew’s cousin, it fits me well and her dress is very fine and beautiful.

Gabriel’s wearing right now is his favorite brown silky long-sleeved, paired with black pants and his chukka boots. While Matthew’s wearing red polo paired with black pants and Chelsea boots.

“Does she know how to use computers?” Gabriel suddenly asked Matthew. “Baka pumalya tayo rito, we’ll pay her a big amount, make sure your friend is tricky and smartass, Matt.”

I heard Matthew laughed as we walked down the street and said, “We must follow her instructions, Gab. Following instructions or directions is a very important aspect of everyday life or else you must do the wrong thing. Following instructions may help you to do things correctly and orderly,” he turned his gaze to the side-walk as if he was recognizing the areas. “Disobeying the instructions may lead you in trouble anytime. This is important to follow directions because telling you to listen or read the instruction has a reason so you need to obey it for your own good.”

I nodded at what he urged. “And of course, following instructions result in outcomes that have various impacts in life. In a hospital or in a laboratory, following instructions may affect life or death. Some people might think that following instructions requires simply reading instructional text or paying close attention to verbal directions and performing the intended action afterward. In order to have efficiency and organization, instructions and listening are strongly enforced.”

Lumingon sa akin si Gabriel habang naglalakad pa rin paabante. “Uh-huh. If there are no rules, we are now in chaos.”

I once nodded and a smile appeared on my face. “Malayo pa ba tayo? Ang sakit na ng dalawa kong talampakan,” pagrereklamo ko.

“I think we’re almost there. Iilang lakad na lang. Tumingin kayo sa mga areas, kapag may nakita kayong karatula, iyon na ‘yon. She said it was her place whenever she did such things, and when someone asked for her help. It was an abandoned house, there’s a lot of things, expect it’s messy inside.” Matthew said and after a few seconds, his steps went fast and he pointed in a direction. “There it was! There’s a lot of trees, she said it’s circling her place with big trees.”

I looked over at what he pointed to and saw many trees surrounding a house. Matthew looked around first before he opened the door when we got close to it. Gabriel came in first and I followed, and then Matthew.

I covered my nose and then pulled out the cobwebs that were scattered in front of us. It was obviously abandoned and it looked like their friend had been here a long time ago, or just not cleaned up to look scary so that other people wouldn’t come in here.

I rolled my eyes inside, lots of cloth and mess, lots of things and wires on the floor, there were three tables next to each other with three computers, in the other corner there was a TV and a small speaker with a white headset, below it there are many papers and books scattered.

Matthew quietly moved the computers while Gabriel looked at the papers and books scattered around.

“Your friend seems so scary to be with, Matt. This is insane, I bet she’s a stalker, isn’t she?” I said and walked towards them. “So, what now?”

“You’re being too excited, Belle, just relaxes right now, don’t be so excited. What you’re waiting for will happen later on, okay? Relax and chill.” Gabriel said to me in a calm tone. “Come here, join me.”

Kumuha ako ng isang papel at saka ibinasa ang nakasulat doon. “People say love is pure, painful, sweet, and dreadful— all at once. The truth is, love is a basic necessity in everyone’s life. Everyone needs to be loved to live a proper and healthy life. Love has various definitions. Ask someone and they will give you their own definition of love. Love is a variety of feelings, emotions, and attitudes. For some love is more than just being interested physically in someone, it’s an emotional attachment.” I whispered reading.

What was that? Bakit may ganoon? Is Matthew’s friend in love?

Matthew adjusted his stand as he checked his cellphone and looked at us seriously.“She just texted me, everything is ready.”

After those words came out of Matthew's mouth I suddenly remembered what Jordan had said to me.

“Hmm? Why did they let you out of jail? You killed Mang Sinlac, didn’t you? They are really that freaking noob, eh? Oh, my god, I enjoyed it! Who could have imagined that you’ll be the suspect? Oh, poor, Bellia. I’m sorry, you got involved, ikaw kasi, e. I bet you heard what I’d said when you and Gabriel convinced me to let you both look for my book, you heard it, didn’t you?"

"Should I help you to find out the answer? Oh, or do you want me to state the truth? I told you, didn’t I? Do not get involve. I knew that you heard what I’d said, you’re ain’t that stupid, ‘di ba? Oh, how poor you are right now, Bellia.”
