Chapter 06:Shortly after Hack left, Maxx ran out of the makeshift shelter. Something outside pulled the young male’s attention from the novelty Ginger represented.
His age was hard to estimate, but he was fully grown. He would be searching out a mate soon, perhaps the next fall of darkness. She had no intention of taking on a lover or mate. Her interests lay elsewhere. If he showed more interest, her concern might be the coming night, but for now, her sister and her predicament needed to remain her sole focus.
She assumed, if not for her sister’s s****l indiscretions, Ginger wouldn’t have found herself in this untenable situation. It wasn’t the first time, probably not the last. Once more, her younger sister’s actions caused too much trouble.
