Chapter 13

---Running through the forest, Kein is thinking about their next move. Their Encounter with the Knights of Wanborne was a really big problem for the group. The Kingdom of Wanborne will become their first enemy by the time Bastien gives his report. Kein couldn't run from the kingdom anymore, his whereabouts being found by Bastien. They have to run somewhere for the time being.

Slowly opening my eyes, I start to regain consciousness after exhausting all my power with my "Light Cannon".

"H-Huh? Where are we?"

Realizing that I've woke up, Kein stops in place and lets me down to see if I can stand on my feet now.

"You're finally awake. We can stop and rethink our strategy."

From behind Kein, another person steps in front of me with an angered expression. He was Taiyo.

"Akushi!"

After hearing this loud shout in front of me, I start feeling all of Taiyo's anger throughout all of my body.

With a strong, fast slap, my cheek becomes red instantly.

"You i***t! You said you won't do anything stupid!" then, with tears falling on his cheeks, he puts his hands on my shoulders and looks me in the eyes.

"Don't ever do anything like that again... You i***t!"

Looking at his tearful eyes, I could only lower my face and stare towards the ground.

"I am sorry... I am so sorry, Taiyo! I won't do it again."

As quick as he switched from the angry expression to the sad one, his sad expression changes to his usual, beautiful and bright smile.

"Now that you made up, it's time I tell you our destination," says Kein after seeing this heartwarming scene.

"Yes! Show us the way!"

Hearing my quick affirmation, Kein draws out a map, widely opening it on the ground.

"We'll get through this forest, arriving at another colony. This colony is the biggest out of all the colonies, even rivalling the capital for Wanborne in size. We'll get resources there and then we'll continue our travel towards our destination."

"Where is that "destination"?" asks Taiyo

It's certain that, since we got attacked by Bastien's group, we still didn't get to understand Kein's plan or where we should go now.

"The Kingdom of Swanford... Known as the most peaceful kingdom but also the weakest one. They have a quest, so important, yet so old that couldn't be completed in thousands of years. We'll complete that quest and get the reward."

"Thousands of years? If it's so important, why didn't they complete it by now?" I ask while scratching my head, still thinking about this quest.

"It's one of the hardest challenges you can take, and not many know about it. Also, as I said, Swanford is the weakest kingdom there is in the Big Five. We first need to get at this colony outside the forest and get supplies." explains Kein while I and Taiyo are peacefully listening.

"Night's about to come, so let's hurry. We don't have much time and I wouldn't like to stay in there for too long," says Kein

"Yes sir!"

--- Leaving the forest after a long run, we closed the gap between us and the colony. We became able to hear some sounds that would be best described as cries and screams.

"Something's wrong... What's happening in that city?"

"Whatever it is, it can't be good!"

"We'll see soon. We are almost there!"

Arriving at the entrance of the colony, we can only see chaos and suffering everywhere. Houses burning, children crying while searching for their parents, and laughing crazily, some black-hooded men, hitting citizens and throwing lit torches all around.

"So it was true after all..."

"What's happening there, mister Kein?!"

"The Qlipoth Cult... You know about the sacred war, right? The Qlipoth Cult and The Sephirot Followers are two groups formed after the end of that war... One sustaining the fact that the Devils should have ruled over the world, and the others being on the same part as the angels. At the end of the war, the humans betrayed the angels and sealed the devils in hell as well as the angels in heaven."

"So... Those Qliphoth guys are responsible for this mess, right? It's enough for me!"

"I understand how you feel, Taiyo... We have to do something."

"I understand you, but the two factions are on another level. They are both hidden groups lurking in the shadows, with each one being as strong as an entire kingdom itself. Knowing this, you still want to fight them?"

"Yes! I am not even thinking of running as an option!"

"We can't stay hidden forever! We have to find their leader and ask him the reason for this chaos!"

"I see... I have a vague idea why they are doing this, and if I am right about this... We might find their leader in the centre of the colony. This colony is a peaceful one, focused on religion, having one of the biggest churches in the world. I don't even need to explain why they attacked this place. It's obvious."

"Those guys..." I say while clenching my fist.

"You kids go together. Go around making some noise and distract them. They won't overpower you easily since they only work in small groups. I will get behind and take down the leader."

"Understood! But please let us punch that i***t as well after you finish."

"Nice, I promise you! Now go!" says Kein while pointing towards some creepy guys beating the citizens.

"Yes sir!"
