Chapter 14

---With the strategy in our mind, I and Taiyo ran right at the cultists that looked like they were having fun while torturing the poor souls of the citizens.

"Hello gentleman, would you mind leaving those people alone, so we could talk for a second?" I say with a smile while approaching the small group.

"You are not from these places, aren't you kid? Would you mind joining them?"

"I want to ask you something first." my fake smile faded into nothingness while continuing with my speech.

"How many people did you kill? Your kill intention is so big that I can even see it."

He looks at me after with a disgusting smile on his face and says,

"Who knows?! I've lost count already!"

"I see... I am sorry." then I look down with a sad expression and whisper,

"Go Taiyo."

From behind them, like a lightning, Taiyo's knives flew right at the cultist's necks. Not even paralyzing them, but killing all of them on the spot.

"Are you alright, Akushi?"

"Yes... Let's go!"

Meanwhile in the centre of the city, coming right in front of the cultists is Kein approaching with both his swords unsheathed.

"You should be this group's leader, right?"

"You are right, I am the fifth leader of the Qliphoth, Tevric Vivra!"

"I see... Thank you for staying in place while I came to you. You made my job easier."

Looking around, Kein sees a big group of cultists surrounding him.

"I see..." Seeing the situation he is in, he starts showing some of his power, unleashing some wind, dense enough to be seen gathering around him."

"If it comes to this, I'll have to be serious."

While Kein started fighting with Tevric and his subordinates, Taiyo and Akushi were cleaning the city from the cultists.

"Are you alright? That last attack got you a bit..."

Keeping my hand on my hurt arm, I started walking again towards the centre of the colony. Looking forward to the destination, I didn't even realize that someone was trying to keep me in place, dragging me from a sleeve.

"Hmm?"

"You stopped... I thought you wouldn't realize and drag me around like this..."

Dragging me from my sleeve was a young girl, dressed in black clothes, with blue eyes so beautiful that looked like they were sparkling.

"Please stay still for a bit..." she says just before placing her two tiny hands on my arm. After a few second, a light started to come from the wound.

Looking down at the arm that was hurt just a moment ago, I become astonished by the fact that it was now completely healed.

"It's- completely healed! You are amazing!"

"Are you a citizen of this city?" asks Taiyo while thanking the girl for healing my wound.

"Yes...I used to live with the people from the church in the centre, but we got separated after the attack of the cultists.

"Your name? I mean- What's your name?" I ask with a flustered face, not even finding my words too easy.

"Oh- I forgot to introduce myself! I am Anastasia Sensos! An orphan raised by the church of this colony!"

"I am Taiyo, and this guy over there is our "king" Akushi! We both are orphans as well! Nice to meet you!"

Anastasia looks at me with a surprised face and asks,

"King?"

"It's a long story! Hope we meet you again but we are in a hurry towards the centre!" says Taiyo while facing towards the direction of the centre,

"I'm sorry. We have to go." I say while trying to run but once again, I feel someone dragging me from a sleeve.

"Take me with you! I have to see what happened to the church!"

Taiyo then turns at her and says:

"We might be able to protect you... Are you fine with this?"

"Yes! Just take me with you!"

"Fine... I will protect you, so don't do anything reckless!" I say while taking her hands off my sleeve with mine.

"Hah! You are the one that should stop doing reckless things!" says Taiyo while looking at me.

After saying this, we turn around once again and start running towards the centre of the city to help Kein, but arriving there, we see him standing on a rock, with many fallen cultists surrounding him.

"Yo kids! It took you some time!"

"What happened there?! Look at you! You are bleeding and are wounded all over your body! You are as reckless as Akushi!"

"Hah! You didn't see my opponent! He even forgot to pick up his teeth from the ground when he was running away... or his arm."

Seeing him in this state, Anastasia takes a step forward and creates a big light field that surrounds Kein, healing all his wounds.

"That is a very convenient ability, thank you."

Even though Kein thanked her, she didn't get to reply, falling because of the dizziness her ability provoked her.

"Miss Anastasia!" seeing her fall, I run towards her and catch her before she hit the ground.

"I am sorry... I used my power too much."

"I saw that... You ran around and healed anyone in this colony even from before we came there."

"How is the church...?"

"I am sorry... It burned to a crisp, and no one was around anymore."

With tears falling on her cheeks, she closed her eyes and said,

"I see... I lost my home again, didn't I?"

I can't find any word of encouragement nor any word to make her feel better. Clenching my teeth I look towards Kein and ask him,

"Where should we go, mister Kein?"

"We can't get resources there, so we'll have to go with what we have and get goods in Swanford. We can't blindly go to other colonies since the knights of Wanborne are hunting us right now."

"But everyone from this colony evacuated already! It was obvious that they can't live there anymore. Those Qliphtoth guys will come again sooner or later!" says Taiyo while looking towards Anastasia's direction.

"Miss Anastasia... Do you want to come with us? We might not know each other well, but all of us seem to know the feeling of not having a home. We are all orphans after all."

Taiyo is right. Qliphoth might come back here someday, so miss Anastasia might get into a dangerous situation again.

"I was an orphan as well when I was a kid so I understand how you feel."

"You were?!" says Taiyo seeming surprised by the fact that Kein was also an orphan. To be honest it surprises me as well.

"Yes, didn't I tell you by now?"

"Of course not!"

Looking down at Anastasia that was looking at them with her eyes wide open, I ask her once again,

"Will you come with us?"

"...Holding on to your sleeve- made me feel safe. So if you don't mind me joining you, I will do my best to keep you healthy!"

"Then it's set. We're heading towards the kingdom of Swanford! Get ready kids, because we are approaching our goal!"
