"Father! something is going on, Bane was roughly carried away from his house over here. Or, did you send them to carry him like that?" Lucinda said as her lips quivered out of fear.
"No! I didn't send anyone to that world to meet Bane except you. Tell me, what happened? Did you see Valerie or Joe with them?" Lord Zane asked over the phone.
"I didn't see Valerie, and I don't know who's Joe. This guys looked strange to me, I'm scared dad." Lucinda replied.
"Hey girl! Don't be scared of those weaklings, you're stronger. You can't defeat Valerie with fear, you've got to be strong. Don't worry I'll be sending someone over there soon. But be strong." Lord Zane said as the call ended.
Lucinda was still scared, she felt her dad took it too lightly, she wished he was here to witness it himself. She was so restless as she moved around the house confused.
Lord Zane at the underworld, couldn't understand what Lucinda told him, the only thing he could be pick out is that Valerie and the likes are up to no good. He got so confused, he also felt the fear in Lucinda's tone. He wouldn't blame her though for being afraid, it was her first time experiencing all these.
Lord Zane tried contacting Bane and other crossbreeds working for him at the underworld but no one could be seen or heard at the other end.
Meanwhile, at the temporary camp of Valerie, all the crossbreeds caught were gathered and held by silver chains. They were all severely injured and wounded by the torture they received from Valerie's friends.
Valerie was still recuperating from the injuries she sustained at the beacon hall. Michael and others kept the crossbreeds at bay until Valerie was fully strong to address their success in fishing out the crossbreeds.
Few hours to into the next, the sun was coming out gradually, Valerie had already woken up.
She saw the Light Gang setting up poles to punish the crossbreeds that have been captured.
Valerie got up from where she laid and walked towards the direction the crossbreeds were held captive. She could see Alex and the others getting the captives ready for their punishment.
Joe also woke up and joined her, his suit was bloodied due the injuries he also sustained at the security meeting. He hasn't fully recovered but had some energy to move around.
"Valerie, what is your plan? Are you killing them or letting them go like you did to Maria and Steve?" Joe asked as he joined Valerie watching how the captives were carried and chained to the silver poles.
"Can you find the device they use in communicating to Zane?" Valerie asked Joe.
Joe immediately told his men to identify any communication charms or device the captives might be using to communicate to there master.
Luckily, one of them the captives had one on him. Valerie also ordered the most stubborn and unrepentant crossbreed be brought out to the sun and be made to request a call to Lord Zane.
Few minutes later, Valerie was informed that Lord Zane is on the call. It happened to be a visual communication device as they all could see Lord Zane in his very long black cape with high raised collar looking so pale and young for someone who has lived more than a thousand years.
"Zane! Enough of your tricks, you can never win us. We're have captured all your bastard unfortunate lab rat children, we could let them go or not, that's up to us to decide. We just want you to leave our world alone already. Aren't you tired of losing to us?" Valerie said brazenly and disrespectfully to Lord Zane.
At a corner, Lucinda was also watching in the camouflage of a nearby bush. She wore a black cape with long hoodie to protect her skin from burning under the sun.
She just wanted to know how things would play out as her hatred for Valerie grew even stronger.
"Lord Zane would never bow to your wishes. Lord Zane don't worry I'm ready to die for our course, please don't give in to their demands."
The stubborn captive said to Lord Zane as his skin gradually burned under the sun. He was immediately stabbed with a silver dagger by one is Joe's men as he shouted in pain. The dagger remained in his skin as it burned his skin, that dagger would be the twelfth dagger in that crossbreeds body.
"Valerie! Enough of your nonsense already. None of these would ever make me stop and you know that. I'll crush you and all you kind and drain all the blood of humans that has joined forces with your kind, for all the innocent blood of my people you've unjustly killed." Lord Zane said with a lot anger and rage written all over his face.
"You still have the guts to speak about injustice. Zane! I'm going to be one doing the crushing, and that would be you and your entire likes, you barbaric beast." Valerie said looking so angry and so pissed at Lord Zane. Which made Lord Zane to laugh afterwards.
"You don't know what's coming. We'll soon know who will be doing the crushing, just get ready for me the war has just started, and this time it's in my favor." Lord Zane said and laughing out malicious afterwards together with the stubborn crossbreed.
"Bring all the crossbreeds out, immediately!" Valerie said with a lot of tensed up emotions and anger, her eyes turned yellow as her claws got longer, she wished she could attack Lord Zane at the instant but can't as his visuals weren't real.
She immediately drew her sword slowly, she ordered them to bring down all the captured crossbreed from the pole.
As she stood there with her face bent towards the ground, everyone knew she was in a very dangerous mood as she have never been seen that way. Her long hair and the gown she wore at the meeting flowed with the wind, she rose her head slowly, giving off a highly intimidating aura.
"Zane! I've had enough of your nonsense." Valerie said as she ran pass the lined up crossbreed with her sword stretched out at arms length. As she stopped after the last crossbreeds, their heads began to drop off one by one with lots of blood as their headless bodies fell to the ground.
Lucinda really got scared and shocked as she almost screamed, she immediately held her mouth to avoid being heard.
