Gabriel opened his eyes, he found himself in a hospital ward. He couldn't understand why he was in the hospital, as he sat up, he could feel his head banging, a slight headache though. He looked around, he could not find anyone around him. He saw that he wore a patient's cloth, by his right he could see a heartbeat reading device, it was reading his heartbeat rate.

It took him a while for him to realize he was in a private ward in a hospital. He tried leaving the bed but his right hand were cuffed to the rail of the bed. He still couldn't understand what he was doing cuffed to a hospital bed.

He tried remembering what had happened last, but his banging headache wouldn't allow him. He tried calling out to a nurse or doctor, but no one was hearing him.

He also noticed some pints of blood on a side table close to his bed, he immediately rushed to it as he drank all at once. He suddenly realized he was a blood drinking creature, a vampire. He could strongly perceive human blood around and a sudden urge to run out and drink human blood. Gabriel's eyes immediately turned black as his upper canines got longer with a pointy end. At that point he was ready to attack any human at once and drink all their blood.

At the remembrance of Veronica, he sat still as though he had been electrocuted. His eyes immediately turned to normal same as his teeth. He remembered his vow never to drink human blood as he remembered the only love of his life, Veronica.

"Where is Veronica?" He asked himself as he tried freeing himself from the cuffs again. All he wanted was to go meet Veronica at that moment.

While he tried removing his hands from the cuffs, he suddenly heard a knock on the door, as he looked towards the door, it opened and someone came in.

Maria came in to check on him. She was the only one assigned to look after him since she also has a vampire form, the doctors would come in when he has a critical medical condition and need professional attention.

Most doctors were also afraid of going into his ward for the fear been bitten and killed by Gabriel. The would immediately leave his ward when they are done attending to him.

Maria was the best person to be there, not only for the fear of him killing a human but also for the fact that she knows the vampire anatomy and could also assist the doctors on what needs to be done when critical cases arise.

As she entered the room, Gabriel immediately recognized her, it is Maria that once worked at the church before she was stripped of her sisterly status when she found to be a crossbreed. He also remembered she was his assistant as a medical intervener that use their blood to heal and cure sick people.

"Where am I? What am I doing in a hospital?" Gabriel asked looking so confused at Maria.

"Calm down Gabriel, you're in the hospital. You were shot." Maria said as she went closer to him with some injections. She pierced the syringe into one of arms pushing its liquid content into his body.

"Where is Veronica? And why was I shot?" Gabriel asked as he received the injections from Maria.

"Veronica is fine. And you can't tell me you can't remember why you were shot and who shot you." Maria said

"These injections a blood supplements to help you wounds heal faster." Maria said as she finished injecting him with syringe

Vampires don't really need meds or injections to live all they need to survive on is blood. With the fact that Gabriel doesn't drink human blood he was steadily injected with blood supplements to help him heal faster. This was due to the suggestion of Maria to the doctors to help him heal faster without the use of human blood.

Gabriel immediately remembered why he was shot and who shot him as his mood changed immediately that almost got Maria scared.

"I need to warn Joe and Valerie, I need to warn everyone something bad is coming from the underworld. I need to warn everyone before it's too late." Gabriel said as he grabbed Maria with his Left hand that wasn't cuffed.

Maria calmed him down, she told him to explain everything that happened while he was shot and what he needed to warn people about.

Gabriel explained everything to her. He explained how he was stalked and lured into the woods where he encountered Dawn and other crossbreeds. He also told her, Dawn's deceptive and manipulative plans to destroy the security systems of the merged world and how his brother plans to bring back discord into the merged world.

He continued to say that he never agreed to his brother's plans as Dawn wanted him to supervise his evil plans, it was when he disagreed and was running back to inform everyone about his brother's plans that he was shot by his brother and couldn't remember anything after then.

Maria wasn't looking confused or shocked as though she knew all along.

"Don't tell me you aren't surprised or worried about this information. Don't tell me you're working for Dawn too." Gabriel said noticing that she hasn't had change her mood towards his story.

"I can never work for those who abandoned me when I needed them the most. I can never work for your brother or father again." Maria said looking so angry. Gabriel immediately remembered how his father abandoned her and Steve when she was caught and was nearly killed by Joe's men if not for Valerie's intervention.

"Though, I'm not surprised or worried about what you just said. It's already late, the harm has already been done." Maria explained her mood.

"How? Just in few hours? That can't be possible, it's a plan that takes a lot of time." Gabriel said looking confused. Maria chuckled a bit on hearing him.

"You were in coma for a year and three months, isn't that enough time to cause a lot of havoc." Maria said.

Gabriel was so shocked hearing that he had been asleep for more than a year, he felt so bad that he couldn't inform anyone of this evil deceptive plan of his brother before he went into coma.
