The night before this day, Valerie had been with Joe. Joe had questioned her for killing all the crossbreeds at once but stopped him from killing Maria And Steve when he wanted to.
Valerie, first of all, apologized to him for making decisions for him when he wanted kill the crossbreeds and promised never to do it again as they were equals in the ranks of power.
On her reasons for killing the crossbreeds, she said it was out of mere hatred, anger and rage at Lord Zane and the underworld. She also apologized for taking decisions on her own. She also owned up to the fact that he never wanted to kill them, at least not all of them.
Joe accepted her apology but cautioned her from taking decisions on her own next time. He didn't like that about her.
They also went on to talk about other security concerns of the world. Joe revealed that his team were building more sophisticated weapons of war to aid them in battle. He couldn't wait either to start testing them on the underworld.
Valerie asked about Elizabeth and their conflict. He told her that, they resolved it peacefully after Irwin and Samuel, the crossbreeds, were killed.
As they finished talking and about to part ways, Gabriel called Joe immediately.
"Joe can you get Valerie for me by tomorrow?" Gabriel said over the phone.
"Valerie is right here with me, you say what you want, she'd hear you loud and clear." Joe said as he put the phone on loudspeaker. Valerie also went closer to hear him clearly.
"Gabriel, it's Valerie. Go on I'm with you." Valerie said.
"Okay, thank god. I and Maria just had a discovery, but we ain't sure about it yet." Gabriel said.
"What is it Gabriel? You can say it now." Valerie said.
"I don't trust the area I'm at right now, someone might be listening, that doesn't need to hear this information I'm trying to pass across." Gabriel replied.
"Okay, but can you give us a clue about it?" Joe asked.
"This is more serious and dangerous than the crossbreeds. But we aren't sure about it yet." Gabriel said.
They all planned to meet the next day at the human world, in Veronica's house.
The day Valerie was to meet Gabriel with Joe, sadly and coincidentally had to be the day Alex wanted her. She felt so bad not going out with him. More so, with another lady that makes her so insecure and jealous.
But, Valerie's mind was already made up to meet with Gabriel. She got hold of her emotions as she prepared to leave.
She first took her bath, which wasn't a lively one but a lonely one. She stood under shower reminiscing her time with Alex under the shower, his warm touch, his body close to hers. She was lost in thought as she took the shower for long before leaving the bathroom.
She got changed and was ready to leave the house to meet with Joe and the rest at the human world.
Meanwhile, inside the woods Alex and Lucinda were at. Lucinda asked Alex if things were okay with his partner. Alex tried to cover up and say nothing about it but Lucinda pressured him to say something also telling him she feels something is off or is it because of her presence, that she could go if they don't approve of it.
Alex fell for her inquisitiveness, he told her everything he feels about Valerie and how she hasn't been reciprocating it of recent due to her responsibility.
She calmed him down telling him Valerie would come around. She also told him that she was going to talk to Valerie for him.
While at the human world, Valerie was already seated in Veronica's living room together with Joe, Maria, and Joe. They had already exchanged pleasantries and ready for the business of the day.
"I'll go straight to the point. My sister is here, I and Maria have seen her but we are yet to confirm it. But, if she is here, then it is very bad." Gabriel said.
"She is known for her dirty tricks of magically changing faces. And I think she is here to toy us with those useless tricks of hers." Maria added.
"So how much of a threat those she pose to us? How strong is she?" Joe asked Gabriel.
"For all I know, she isn't that strong as my brother, Dawn, but she is an elder vampire like him. But, she has never had an interest in coming here, for her to be here then there is something up we just have to find out." Gabriel said.
"Do you have a picture of her? So that we can easily tell she is whenever we see her." Joe asked again.
"I don't have, I came here empty handed. But I don't think it's necessary either. She could be moving about with other people's face." Joe said.
"Yeah, we know that. But we still need to know how she looks like just in case we see her anywhere." Valerie said.
"You don't worry, I still have my spies at the underworld, they can easily get a picture of her for me." Joe said.
Soon the meeting was over as they all agreed to let Joe's spies do the remaining job of getting Lucinda's pictures and try to know Lord Zane's plan.
Few days later, Valerie left home as normal as she got a call from Joe, telling her he has gotten a positive feedback from his spies at the underworld. Alex tried to ask her what could be up, but she still kept it a secret from him as she hurriedly left home.
Few minutes later, she was at Joe's house. Joe told them his men said, Lord Zane sent his daughter on a very dangerous mission to their world to activated a certain spell on someone, but the details of her mission couldn't be completely gotten as it was classified. Joe also handed the picture to Valerie to see how she looks like.
"Oh my god! Alex is in trouble. I need to get to him right away. This girl is currently with my man!" Valerie screamed out on seeing Lucy as Lucinda, Gabriel's sister. She rushed out as Joe and Gabriel joined her.
