The moment I opened that bedroom door and Maria was standing there, I thought "Oh s**t, this is it. She is going to leave me again." Between the anger and panic I felt. My reaction was slow but Ava's was quick and to the point and, let's be honest, surprising. I had no idea she trained with her pack and was one of the warriors there. As she put it, she was on the pack patrol, meaning she didn't care about the title of warrior, but that's why she was there. It means she put in the time and effort to be there and earned that spot.
Maria had no idea she was writing checks her ass couldn't cash, but it was obvious that Ava realized it from the get go. Her nickname for Maria is the best, because thinking back, it is exactly what she is; a Barbie. Jesus, what did I see in her?
