My Three Mates A Post Apocalyptic Love Story

AVA Who knew the end of the world as I knew it would turn my whole world so very upside down? Well, I guess anyone who survived and didn't go crazy would know that. I went from having an almost fairytale life to wondering alone through this world and just trying to survive. But before I get to that, maybe I should start at the beginning of this long story. Three Years Earlier Finally, I had turned 19 and could attend that year's Moonlight ball. The one where everyone from the surrounding packs gather and hopefully find their mate. I was so excited, hoping to find my happily ever after. The dress I picked out is a very pretty dark blue to bring out the blue in my eyes, it goes to just below my knees and has a very pretty V neck that accentuates my chest. I'm not super skinny, but I have some nice curves that guys seem to like. I generally don't wear makeup, but for this occasion I have decided that doing the winged eye liner and some light eye shadow to make my eyes pop is a must. "Ava!?! Are you ready yet? We will be late if you take any longer." My older sister Shelly calls up the steps. "Almost!!! Was just doing a once over." I called down to her. Stepping out into the hallway, I made my way downstairs. "Oh, Shelly, you look so beautiful." My sister is taller and slimmer than I am, standing at 5'9" compared to my 5'5" height, with golden blonde hair and brown eyes. She is wearing the most beautiful red mermaid dress I have ever seen. "Ava mom and dad would have loved that dress. I wish they were here to see it." She says with tears in her eyes. Our parents died in a car accident when I was 15 and Shelly was 17. We got lucky and the pack helped us. Since Shelly was almost 17 they allowed us to stay in our family home instead of making us move to the packhouse or the orphanage. Its been 3 years but it still feels like yesterday sometimes. "They would have loved yours too." I said, hugging her. "I wish they were still here." "Me too, sis me too." she said hugging me back "Ok no crying, we are going to mess up our makeup. Come on, let's get on the road. It's around an hour to get there and I don't want to be late." I turned around and looked at our home, knowing this might just be my last time living here if I find my mate. It's nothing special, just a small yellow two-story home with just enough room for the family we once had. It was once a house filled with a lot of laughter and love, but after the accident ... we just did the best we could to survive. Maybe one day it will be filled by all of that once more. Who knows? Jumping into the car, we head to the ball with hopes of finding love. My sister has been attending the ball for the past few years and has yet to find her mate yet, but word is a few new packs are joining the celebration this year. So this might be her year. We drive there in a comfortable silence as we listen to music with excitement, so thick you can feel it. As we pulled up to the large mansion they are holding it in this year I can't help but be in awe of it. It's all lit up with lights shining on the house and a lit walkway that leads to the back of the mansion. After passing the car off to the valet, we are directed down the walkway leading to the rear. Linking our arms together, we smiled at each other as we walked towards the backyard. We came around the corner and the whole yard is lit up with fairy lights and there were tulle arches with flowers and tables. In the middle is a large pool that has been covered in a clear platform to dance on. The DJ has all kinds of lights flashing and music is going on. It's so beautiful. I had no idea what to look at first. Feeling eyes on me I swept the area trying to see who was watching us when my eyes met his. My mate is here and I found him instantly. How lucky is that? Will he accept me? What if he doesn't want a lowly Omega? Suddenly I felt more nervous than I have in my entire life as so many things fluttered through my mind. As if pulled by an unknown string, I let go of Shelly and started to walk towards him as he started to walk to me as well. "Ava? Are you OK?" Shelly asks me Breaking eye contact, I smiled at her. "I found my mate Shelly. I love you good luck!" She smiled at me and hugged me quickly. "Go get him!! I love you too!" Turning back, I ran smack into a hard chest and almost fell backwards till he grabbed me and steadied me on my feet. "Oh I am so sorry!" I said, looking up into the smiling face of my mate. "Hi mate." He said, looking down at me with a huge smile on his face. "Uhh Oh..um hi! I'm Ava" I said, extending my hand for him to shake it. Still smiling, he took my hand. "Ava, I'm Jack, the beta of The Moonlight Pack." Shit, he is a beta? What if he doesn't want me? It doesn't happen often but there are elitists out there who won't mate with anyone from a low-ranking family. My smile faded to a frown as I thought about the pain of being rejected. "Ava? Are you ok?" He asked me, looking concerned. "Here, why don't we move somewhere a little more private so we can speak?" Nodding, he grabbed my hand and we moved off to the side to a small private table. My frown deepens as I think about him pulling me over here to tell me he can't be with me. He pulled out my chair and motioned for me to sit down. "Thank you" I said as he sat in the other chair, the look of concern still on his face. "You still didn't answer my question? Are you alright?" "If you don't want to be with an omega, I completely understand I won't cause a fuss, I promise." I blurted out. "Why wouldn't I want to be with an omega?" he grabbed my hands in his across the table. "I don't care about that, I only care that you are my mate and the goddess chose you for me and only me." he said bringing my fingers to his lips as he kissed them one by one. "I Jack Monroe, Beta of the Moonlight pack, Accept you Ava ..." "Marley, my last name is Marley" I said, smiling "Ava Marley to be my fated mate." "I Ava Marley of the Sunrise pack, Accept you Jack Monroe, to be my fated mate." I said as I felt the bond snap into place. Jack stood from his chair and lifted me into his strong arms and kissed me passionately. With effort we broke the kiss and just held each other. The night had only just begun and we already have each other. What a great night.
