NOTE: This first scene is a cut scene from the book. It occurs after Rose and Xavier's argument when they go tot he concert and Xavier says a bunch of mean stuff he doesn't really mean.  *    *    * “Rose, have you thought about your dress for the mating ceremony?” Josie spoke happily the following night after the concert as they all had dinner together. Xavier’s hand stilled as he paused from bringing his forkful of chicken up to his mouth, eyes trained on Rose. “What would I know about relationships anyway.” Rose said caustically, eyes dragging over to Xavier. “Do whatever you want Josie. It’s not like any of this is real anyway.” And with that hard comment, Rose got up and left the dinner table. Josie eyed Xavier accusingly. “What’d you do?” her voice was steel. “It’s always me that’s wrong isn’t it?” he replied with a hard tone, pushing away from the table and leaving his half-eaten dinner. Josie sighed, why was this becoming a normal occurrence in her home? ---  NOTE: The second scene is an alternate scenario of them getting together. It occurs in the library. Rose's research had originally been about trying to figure out a loophole for Xavier and her. Xavier himself ends up asking her to help him find a loophole. But as time passes, they spend more time together, he ends up liking her. Below is the alternate scenario.     *    *    * Rose pulled Xavier hurriedly into the library of his mansion. Piles upon piles of old tattered books, some with their spines falling apart lay open on the table. A notebook with Rose’s neat precise handwriting lay in the middle of it all. “Look at this.” Rose said excitedly, ignoring the way Xavier’s hand clutched hers just a little tighter while admiring the rosy blush of her cheeks. “I can tap into the power as long as I’ve been marked and….” Rose’s face became hot as she hesitantly spoke the word. “…mated.” If she had glanced at Xavier, she would have seen his eyes darken with the desire at the mention of mating her. “In the olden days, it was normal for Alphas to have a Luna but they would often mate with other females of the pack. There was only one Luna but in different years, they might mate with different females. I guess… they were mistresses.” Rose trailed off for a minute, trying to collect her thoughts completely oblivious to the fact that Xavier seemed to be peering at her backside in the cut off shorts she was wearing. “Xavier.” Rose turned to him excitedly, almost slamming into his chest. Her hands were clasped together excitedly. “You could still be with Alyssa afterwards. Mating for life seems to more of myth or the evolution of our culture.” His dark eyes met hers. “Don’t you see? I could still tap into my powers. As long as we’ve completed all the formalities-“ “Formalities?” Xavier practically choked out. Gripping her shoulders and bringing her crashing against him. “s*x isn’t a formality.” He bit out. Rose could felt her head spinning. She’d thought he’d be happy… “You want me to use you and then cast you aside?” Xavier asked, his grip on her bare arms was starting to hurt. “I want you to be happy.” Rose replied simply. “Even if it’s not with me.” “Why are you always trying to be so damn selfless?!” Xavier screamed the last part, biting back the urge to shake her. How dare she, how dare she even think of s*x with him as a formality, an obligation? Did she just view herself as a means to an end? Or was it something else. Xavier’s world seemed to spin on it’s axis as he asked in a small voice. “Is it someone else? Do you want to be with someone-“ And his head snapped back as Rose, fueled by a strength born from fury pulled out of his grasp to slap him soundly.  *    *    *
