The servants scurried to obey, their faces still pale with fear. They knew that Lugard's anger was still simmering just below the surface, waiting to erupt again at any moment. As they wrapped Lisa in warm blankets and placed a hot water bottle beside her, the doctor continued to examine her. He checked her pulse, her breathing, and her reflexes, his face growing more and more concerned by the minute. "Lugard," he said finally, his voice firm. "We need to talk." Lugard turned back to face him, his eyes still flashing with anger. "What is it?" he growled. The doctor hesitated, choosing his words carefully. "Lisa's condition is more serious than I initially thought," he said. "We may need to get her to the hospital, Lugard. Now." Lugard's face darkened once more, his jaw clenched in defiance. But the doctor could see the faintest glimmer of doubt in his eyes. For a moment, it seemed like he might actually listen to reason. But then, his expression hardened once more, and he turned away, his shoulders heaving with emotion. Dr. Ryder, is a handsome and charming man in his early twenties flashed his famous smile as he return to Lisa's unconscious form. His carefree attitude and jokester nature belied the sharp mind and skilled hands of a seasoned medical professional. As he checked Lisa's vital signs, his brow furrowed in concern. "Lugard, I need you to give her oxygen. Now." Lugard hesitated, his face cold and worried. But before he could move, Dr. Ryder urged him on. "Come on, man! I need you to breathe life into her." But just as Dr. Ryder bent down to administer the oxygen himself, Lugard grabbed his arm, his eyes flashing with a fierce protectiveness. "I'll do it myself," he growled, his voice low and menacing. Dr. Ryder's eyes widened in surprise, but he quickly regained his composure. "Whoa, easy there, Lugard! I'm just trying to help." But Lugard wouldn't let go. With a strength that belied his slender frame, he threw Dr. Ryder across the room, his eyes blazing with a fierce intensity. "I said I'll do it myself!" Dr. Ryder picked himself up, his face flushed with surprise, but his eyes sparkling with amusement. "Well, well, well. Looks like someone's a little possessive, eh?" Despite the tension, Dr. Ryder's carefree attitude and joking nature helped to diffuse the situation. Lugard's jaw clenched in determination. With a deep breath, he bent down to give Lisa the oxygen, his lips sealing around hers with a gentle yet firm touch. As Lugard's lips touched Lisa's, a spark of electricity seemed to pass between them. Dr. Ryder's eyes widened in surprise, but he quickly looked away, his face flushing with embarrassment. But as Lugard breathed life into Lisa, something miraculous happened. Her eyes flickered open, her gaze weak but determined. She looked up at Lugard, her eyes locking onto his with a deep connection. As Lisa's eyes fluttered open, she was met with the shocking sight of Lugard's lips on hers. Her eyes widened in shock as she pushed Lugard away, her face pale with fear. "What...what are you doing?" she stammered. Lugard's eyes flashed with cold light and confusion as he pulled back, his lips still inches from Lisa's. "I was trying to save you," he said, his voice low and husky. Lisa's eyes darted around the room, taking in the scene before her. Dr. Ryder was standing by the window, a mixture of concern and amusement on his face. The servants and guards were hovering in the doorway, their faces filled with worry. Lisa's gaze snapped back to Lugard, her eyes narrowing. "You were kissing me," she accused, her voice trembling with emotion. Lugard's face darkened, his eyes flashing with anger. "I was giving you oxygen," he growled. "You were lying here like dying person, Lisa," he said coldly. But Lisa was having none of it. She scrambled out of bed, her eyes blazing with fear and confusion. "Get away from me," she whispered, her voice barely audible. But Lisa just shook her head, her eyes fixed on Lugard with a mixture of fear and revulsion. "Don't touch me," she said, her voice firm. "Ever again." Lugard's eyes flashed with anger and hurt as he glared at Dr. Ryder, his jaw clenched in frustration. He didn't say a word, but his gaze spoke volumes. Dr. Ryder, still in his twenties with a youthful energy and a sharp mind, met Lugard's glare with a calm and concerned expression. He knew his friend was hurting, but he also knew that Lisa needed space. Without a word, Lugard turned and strode out of the room, his movements cold and deliberate. The servants and guards parted to let him pass, their faces filled with worry and curiosity. Dr. Ryder watched him go, his eyes filled with a deep understanding. He knew that Lugard's anger and hurt would eventually give way to reason and concern for Lisa's well-being. But for now, he just let him go, knowing that his friend needed time to process his emotions. As the door closed behind Lugard, Dr. Ryder turned to Lisa, his face softening with compassion. "Hey, sister-in-law, how are you feeling now?" he asked, his voice gentle and soothing. Lisa's eyes followed Lugard's departure, her expression a mix of fear, confusion, and relief. She turned to Dr. Ryder, her voice barely above a whisper. "What...what happened?" Dr. Ryder's expression was calm and reassuring. "You were unconscious, Lisa. Third brother was trying to revive you. He was giving you oxygen." Lisa's eyes widened, her face pale. "He was kissing me," she whispered again, her voice trembling. Dr. Ryder's expression turned sympathetic. "I know it may have seemed that way, but I assure you, Lugard was just trying to save your life." not taking advantage of you. he explained. Even if he does kiss you is not a crime you are his wife, not a stranger. Lisa's gaze dropped, her eyes filling with tears. But she didn't say anything more. How did you fall into that amazing swimming pool if you know you can't swim in the first place? Dr Ryder asked. Lisa blink with a furrowed brow as if he had remembered something important for her. I don't know, I feel like someone pushed me from behind when I was admiring the pool earlier. Dr Ryder frowned. He stepped forward, his hands gentle as he guided her back to bed. "You're safe now, Lisa. You're going to be okay. We'll figure everything out, soon." As Lisa lay back, her eyes locked onto Dr. Ryder's, searching for answers. But before she could ask any more questions, her eyelids drooped, exhaustion taking over. Dr. Ryder smiled softly, his eyes watching over her as she fell asleep. My sister-in-law is saw Beautiful. He said with a smile. As the clock struck midnight, Lisa stirred, her eyes fluttering open. She looked around, disoriented, but saw no one in the room. The light was dim. She tried to sit up, but a wave of dizziness washed over her, forcing her back onto the pillows. Her mind was foggy, and her memories seemed hazy. She remembered falling into the pool, and Lugard's face above hers. She remembered Dr. Ryder's calm voice and the feeling of being safe. But now, she was alone. Lisa's gaze drifted around the empty room, her heart beating slowly. Where was everyone? And why is there no one on her side? Lisa threw off the covers and got out of bed, her legs shaky beneath her. She walked to the window and pulled back the curtains, revealing a dark and moonless night. The garden below was shrouded in shadows, and the trees creaked ominously in the wind. She felt a chill run down her spine as she realized she was completely alone. Both in this estate and in her family.
