As the wedding day approached, Lugard's expression grew darker, and danger seemed to emanate from him. In the dimly lit room of his estate, Lugard sat on his bed, his eyes gleaming in the darkness. The air was thick with tension, and the shadows seemed to writhe on the walls. There was a knock on the door. Without looking, Lugard said, "You may come in," in a voice that sent shivers down the spines of the butler and assistant. They entered the room, their footsteps echoing off the walls. Lugard's gaze flicked towards them, his eyes narrowing. "What brings you here?" he asked, his tone dripping with menace. Although they couldn't see his expression, they could sense his cold demeanor and knew he was in a bad mood, making them both alert and scared. The butler and assistant exchanged nervous glances. "Young master, the master is concerned about the upcoming marriage," the butler ventured, bowing his head. Lugard's face contorted, his fists clenching. The air seemed to vibrate with his anger. "The master has been trying to reach you for days, but you have not responded," the assistant added, his voice trembling. "He asked me to inquire if you will be attending the ceremony." He said he doesn't have time to come and deal with you," if not he will come and teach you a lesson directly. the assistant said, his voice trembling Lugard's silence was oppressive, heavy with unspoken threats. "I won't show up, and I won't marry Mera," he finally said, his voice cold and detached. The butler and assistant exchanged relieved glances, but their respite was short-lived. "I will deliver your message about not attending, but you can call your father and discuss the marriage with him," the assistant replied respectfully. "Get out," Lugard ordered, his face black with anger. Feeling the icy atmosphere, both the assistant and the butler were about to leave the room. However, the assistant suddenly remembered something and turned back. As they beat a hasty retreat, the assistant turned back, his voice barely above a whisper. "Young master, I have something to inform you." Lugard's gaze flicked towards him, his eyes glinting in the darkness. go on. "The master mentioned earlier that the bride has been replaced," the assistant said, his words spilling out in a rush. Lugard's expression didn't change, but his eyes seemed to bore into the assistant's soul. "Mrs. Mera is no longer marrying you. Mrs. Claire Davis, Mera's mother, and Miss Mera have both refused to marry you, saying you are useless garbage," the assistant said, the last words escaping in a panic. Lugard's face darkened, his jaw clenched. "Continue," he said, his voice dripping with ice. "The new bride is Miss Lisa Davis, the elder daughter of Mr. John Davis," the assistant said, bracing himself for Lugard's reaction. But instead of anger, Lugard's face seemed to relax, a sly smile spreading across his lips. "Better," he murmured, his eyes glinting with amusement. The assistant and butler exchanged shocked glances, unsure of what to make of Lugard's reaction. The assistant and the butler were left wide-eyed and full of surprise at Lugard's unexpected reaction. "Young master, what did you just say?" the butler asked, making sure he hadn't misheard. "Get out," Lugard ordered, his voice cold. "Will you show up that day?" the assistant asked again, seeking confirmation of Lugard's decision. "I will not," was the response he still received. With relief and surprise, they left Lugard's master bedroom. Alone in his room, Lugard unlocked his phone and looked at something with a sly smile on his lips. In Mr. Miller's mansion, he received a message from his son's assistant with a gloomy face. Mrs. Halen had already freshened up and climbed into bed, waiting for her husband to join her so they could sleep. She settled on the bed, looking at her husband, but frowned when she saw his face turn gloomy. "Darling, what's wrong? Why do you look angry?" Mrs. Halen asked her husband, getting up from the bed and walking towards him. "It is your son again? He always gives me a headache," Mr. Miller said angrily. "What did my son do this time?" Mrs. Halen asked seriously. She stepped forward, ready to teach her husband a lesson if he spoke ill of her son. "He said he would not come to the marriage event," Mr. Miller said angrily. "Hey, if he says he won't show up that day, let him be. My son has suffered a lot, let him be. Besides, we shouldn't worry about the wedding. We should be more concerned about the girl, whether he will treat her well or if he will still be waiting for his ex-quena to come back to him," Mrs. Halen said through gritted teeth, feeling the urge to tear Quena apart. "True, he won't dare treat her badly or I will disown him," Mr. Philip Miller said seriously, hugging her and patting her back. Mrs. Halen glared at him, and he looked away as if he didn't see her angry gaze staring at him. Quena is Lugard's ex-girlfriend. She left him after he had an accident four years ago. She saw that the situation was not good, thought that there was no more hope on Miller Lugard's side, and ran away. As the wedding day approached, Lisa became scared and nervous, occasionally biting her lips. Mera often came to Lisa's room to mock and laugh at her, saying, "You are ruined, Lisa. I am very pleased," she said with a smile. Mrs. Claire David didn't take any action against Lisa after the conflicts they had the other day. Mr. Davis compensated her and asked her to forget about the matter and not provoke Lisa in the future. Mrs. Claire agreed outwardly, but in her heart, she thought, "I must take revenge. I can't just forget about it. Let it be bygones? No way. I will keep cool for now," Mrs. Claire said to herself. "When will be a good and beautiful time to take my revenge?" Mrs. Claire asked herself. "Oh, okay, now I know the perfect time. On the day of the marriage, I will humiliate her," Mrs. Claire laughed wickedly. Lisa's phone vibrated on the bed. She stood up from her chair and walked to the bed to get her phone. her heart racing with anticipation. "Hello silly babe, what's up," Lisa asked as she sat on her pink bed. " her voice was bright and cheerful. "Hello, beautiful Princess, nothing's up. I'm just a little bored," Didi replied, her voice dripping with ennui. Lisa's eyes sparkled with amusement. "Okay, what are you doing?" I have nothing to do, and my parents are not at home," Didi said, sitting in the living room watching TV. but my favorite romance movie has not started. where are you?" Didi asked relaxing her back on the sofa. "In my room," Lisa replied as she walked toward the fridge and poured herself a cup of chill water. "Hey, since you are not busy, can we hang out?" Didi asked. "Where are we going?" Lisa asked. "Anywhere our feet carry us is fine," Didi answered playfully, scratching her head in confusion. She didn't even know where to go; all she knew was that she wanted to hang out. Lisa laughed. "Okay, I will go freshen up now. I am also bored over here. These witches and wizards in this house won't let me be." "Where should we meet?" Lisa asked. Didi didn't reply, "Since you don't have a place in mind, I'll be at the coffee shop in a short time," Lisa said, losing her dress and walking toward her wardrobe to pick out some clothes. After looking at her wardrobe for a while without knowing which clothes to choose because she has many clothes in her closet both the ones that she has worn and the ones that she hasn't even worn that still have their labels on them. She finally picked out a pink top and a blue jean skirt. Before entering the bathroom to take a shower. When she's done showering and wearing her clothes, she wears a vibrant pink top, made of a lightweight material that drapes elegantly around her torso. The pink hue is a soft pastel shade, reminiscent of fluffy cotton candy. The top has a relaxed fit, with a subtle V-neckline and delicate cap sleeves that add a touch of femininity. To complement the pink top, Lisa chose a blue jean skirt that fell just above her knees. The skirt has a flowy design, with a subtle flared silhouette that creates a playful, whimsical effect. The blue jean fabric has a soft, worn-in look, giving the skirt a cozy, laid-back vibe. On her feet, she slipped into a pair of plush pink slippers, which added a pop of color and comfort to her outfit. The slippers have a soft, fuzzy texture and a relaxed fit, making them perfect for a casual day out with friends.
