The door opened and Lugard's assistant, James, walked in. "Sir, I need to speak with you about something," James said, his voice hesitant. Lugard raised an eyebrow. "What is it?" James took a deep breath. "It's about young miss, sir. I think you should reconsider your treatment of madam. She's not like the others, sir. I think she's different." Lugard's eyes flashed with anger. "What do you know about it, James?" he spat. James stood his ground. "I know your cold attitude towards her is because of what Miss Emma did. you're hurting her, sir. And I think it's wrong." Lugard sneered. "You're just my assistant, James. You don't know anything about my marriage. She just asked for a divorce," Lugard said coldly. James bowed his head. "Yes, sir. But I had to speak up, for Lisa's sake. She is still young and she never expected this marriage." Lugard's expression softened slightly. He knew James had always been loyal to him, and he respected that. "The young miss asked for a divorce. Does that mean she is not captivated by your beauty and wealth?" the assistant asked. Lugard glared at him with a warning, "You may leave." James nodded and backed out of the room, leaving Lugard alone once again. The next day, Lisa was still asleep, dreaming about how to get a divorce. She had been asleep for hours, exhausted from the events of the previous day. The servants came to call her for lunch, but when they saw that her door was slightly open, they hesitated. They peeked inside and saw that the young madam was still asleep, her chest rising and falling with each gentle breath. "Let her sleep," one of the maids whispered. "She looks like she needs it." The servants nodded in agreement and closed the door, deciding not to wake her. They went back downstairs, leaving Lisa to her slumber. Hours passed, and Lisa finally stirred. She stretched and yawned, feeling a sense of grogginess wash over her. She got out of bed and began to freshen up, her mind still foggy from sleep. As she made her way downstairs, the butler and maids greeted her with warm smiles. "Good afternoon, ma'am," Jenkins said. "We didn't wake you for lunch, but we've kept some food warm for you." Lisa smiled back, feeling a sense of gratitude towards the servants. "Thank you, Jenkins. That's very kind of you." The servants led her to the dining room, where a delicious meal was spread out before her. But as she looked around, Lisa noticed that Lugard was nowhere to be found. "Where is Mr. Lugard?" Lisa asked, looking around the empty dining room. "Master Lugard went to the company for an important meeting, ma'am," Jenkins replied. "He said it couldn't be rescheduled." Lisa nodded, taking a seat at the table. "I see. Well, I hope everything goes well for him." Jenkins smiled. "I'm sure it will, ma'am. Master Lugard is very capable." Lisa began to eat her meal, savoring the flavors and textures of the food. She was hungry after her long sleep and sleepless nights, and the food hit the spot. As she ate, the servants chatted quietly among themselves, discussing the latest news and gossip from the estate. Lisa listened half-heartedly, her mind wandering to her own problems. Upon finishing her meal, Lisa pushed her plate away and smiled at the servants. "Thank you, that was delicious. I think I'll go for a walk in the gardens now." "Shall I accompany you, madam?" one of the maids asked. Lisa shook her head. "No, thank you. I need some time alone." The servants nodded and bowed, allowing Lisa to make her way to the gardens. As she walked, Lisa felt a sense of peace wash over her. She needed to clear her head and think about her next move. As Lisa walked through the gardens, she felt like she had entered a paradise on earth. The gardens were a beautiful tapestry of vibrant colors, with a variety of flowers swaying in the gentle breeze. She strolled along winding paths, enjoying the sweet fragrance of blooming roses, the delicate petals of cherry blossoms, and the bright, sun-kissed hues of marigolds. The garden was a masterpiece of design, with well-tended lawns, lovely fountains, and elegant statues that added to the overall ambiance. Lisa was amazed by the diverse range of flora on display, from exotic orchids to classic lavender, each plant carefully selected to create a harmonious balance of texture, color, and scent. As she ventured deeper into the garden, each place revealed a new treasure trove of botanical delights. She felt like a child in a wonderland, her senses overwhelmed by the sheer beauty and opulence of the garden. The garden's opulence was evident in every detail, from the finely crafted stone carvings to the delicate glasswork in the conservatory. Lisa felt as if she had stumbled into a fairy tale, where the line between reality and fantasy was blurred. While taking in the stunning views, Lisa felt a sense of peace wash over her. As Lisa left the garden, she walked toward the mansion, admiring the beautiful architecture and perfectly manicured lawns. The estate was grand, yet not overly ostentatious, with a warm and inviting atmosphere. As she strolled along the walkways, Lisa noticed the bodyguards stationed at various points around the grounds. Rather than appearing intimidating, they greeted her warmly and smiled. "Good afternoon, ma'am," one of them said, tipping his hat. "Hello," Lisa replied, smiling back at him. "It's a beautiful day, isn't it?" The guard nodded, his eyes crinkling at the corners. "Yes, ma'am. It certainly is." Lisa continued on her way, exchanging pleasantries with the other guards she met. They all greeted her with a smile and a nod, their demeanor friendly and respectful. As she walked, Lisa felt a sense of belonging, as if she was part of a community that looked out for one another. The estate, with its beautiful gardens and friendly staff, felt like a warm embrace, enveloping her in a sense of comfort and security. As Lisa turned the corner, she caught sight of a breathtakingly beautiful swimming pool that took her breath away. The pool was a stunning oasis surrounded by sleek, modern lounge chairs and umbrellas that seemed to glow in the sunlight. The pool itself was a work of art, with intricate mosaics and glittering tiles that shimmered like diamonds in the water. The surface was calm and inviting, reflecting the vibrant colors of the surrounding flowers and trees like a mirror. Lisa's eyes widened in wonder as she approached the pool, her feet carrying her closer with a mind of their own. She felt like a kid in a candy store, her heart racing with excitement and delight. As she reached the pool's edge, Lisa couldn't help but gasp in amazement. The water was crystal clear, with a subtle shimmer that seemed to dance in the light. She saw a few steps leading into the pool, inviting her to take a dip in the cool, refreshing water. Lisa smiled with happiness, feeling as though she had stumbled upon a hidden treasure. As she walked closer, her eyes drank in the beauty of the pool, and her heart filled with joy and wonder. She felt as if she was in a luxurious paradise, where every care and worry seemed to melt away. However, as Lisa walked closer to the swimming pool, a sudden strong force pushed her from behind, sending her tumbling forward. "Ahh!" she screamed in shock and terror as she felt herself falling through the air, her arms and legs flailing wildly. Time seemed to slow down as she plummeted towards the water, her mind racing with fear and panic. She hit the surface with a loud splash, and the impact took her breath away.
