~Mia~
My phone rings for maybe the hundredth time, but I still haven’t answered. Steven can keep calling, but I won’t answer until I have a solid plan. Nokio has been fielding calls as well, and I know we can’t do this much longer. We have to figure out where to take Neela to make sure she’s safe from that monster that’s her husband. If I thought alerting the authorities would help her, I would do that, but I’m pretty sure it would do no good against him and Paxton Industries.
Neela is still out due to her injuries, but I think that’s probably best for her at this point. She needs to heal, and reliving what happened won’t help. We are going to have to get to the pier pretty soon if we want to keep up appearances.
“Okay. My driver will take you to the pier. All you have to do is look distraught. You haven’t seen Neela, and you haven’t heard from her. Can you do that?” Steven is going to show up at the shoot; I just know he will. He will try to talk to me since I’m Neela’s assistant. “MIA?!” My body shakes, and I look into Nokio’s frantic eyes.
“What?”
“Did you hear me?”
“Y…yes I heard you.”
“Can you do this? Can you pretend? Neela’s safety depends on it.” I swallow the lump in my throat. I’m terrified, but Nokio is right. If I f**k this up, Neela could die.
“I got this; I have to. What about you? He’s going to be looking for you too.” Nokio chuckles dryly.
“He’s been calling, but don’t worry. I will get things wrapped up here and I will head to the pier. He won’t get any information out of me.” I stand and kiss Neela on the forehead. I turn to leave, but I stop.
“Who’d you call? Who do you know that can help? Are they willing to do it?”
“I left a message, but I know I will get a call back. You don’t worry about that. I will figure it out. In the meantime, she will stay here and get cared for. I have security coming in to watch the building. He won’t find her here, I swear.” I nod and take one last look at my friend. I turn and walk out of the building.

I swear no one is answering their phone, and it’s pissing me off. Where the f**k is everyone? I swear if my b***h of a wife is trying to leave me, I will make it so she can never walk again. No one leaves me. She belongs to me, and I will show her that if I have to.
The driver stops at the pier, and I rush out of the car. I look around, and everything is set up like it was yesterday. People are coming in and out of the tents, and there’s a camera crew. The light guys are getting set up, so this reshoot is real. I wish I had known that last night.
I don’t know what came over me. I was so angry, and I wasn’t thinking straight. I’ve been angry at her before, but not like this. I was so sure that she had been in contact with that pathetic ex of hers. I just knew they were plotting to disappear together. That thought fueled my anger and aggression, and I took things too far.
I knew coming here would be a problem. I knew that things would be that much more difficult being in her hometown. I thought I was prepared for anything that could happen. I thought I’d be able to approach anything with a level head, but last night proved otherwise. The sooner we get out of this s**thole, the better off I’ll be.
I need to find my wife to smooth things over. I’m not sure how to physically fix the damage I caused, but there has to be a way. I’m not worried about the long-term damage because I have the number of the best plastic surgeon money can buy. He did wonders on Neela’s body, where I can’t even tell she’d ever had that bastard’s kid. No one, besides me, knows that she’s carried a child and given birth. I will call him again to give her that flawless face back.
I start to walk along the pier, looking everywhere to see if I can find my wife. I get nods from men, and women giggle as they pass me, but I don’t care about any of that. “Oh, you’re here.” I stop and turn to my right. Her little mousy assistant is there, looking at me. She usually avoids me, so this is interesting. “Is Neela with you? We really need to get her into makeup.” Wait, is she trying to say that Neela isn’t here? Is she f**king with me right now?
I stalk over to her, and she starts to look away, unable to hold my gaze. I stop right in front of her, looking down at her. Little Mia is a looker, I will say. I’ve often wondered what it would be like to ram my d**k down her throat. I bet her p***y is tight and always wet. I always refrained from touching her because Neela had grown attached, and she was afraid of me. I figured she’d rather rat out Neela than cross me. I revisit my thoughts from the other night and find determination. I will get Mia into my bed and will be able to know everything my wife does and says. “Are you trying to tell me that my wife isn’t here?”
“I…I…I thought she was with you. She didn’t answer when I called her, and she wasn’t in her room when I went to get her. I figured that I’d meet her here.” I stare at her while she looks away. This is weird. Mia is here but without Neela. Mia’s her shadow, for f**k's sake. Is she lying to me? I can’t tell if she is….I can’t tell anything right now.
“Where the f**k is Nokio?!”
