Alice, the Lazy One

1155 Words
"What do you mean, Al?" asked Shena, who was staring intently at her best friend. Alice returned Shena's gaze but soon shook her head weakly. "Come on, you'll get cold in here," said Alice who stood up first so she could help Shena up. "Answer me, Al. What do you mean?" asked Shena again with a curious face. She wouldn't be relieved if she didn't get an answer from Alice. Alice stared silently at Shena. "I'll tell you later, but now let's go inside. It's very cold here. You'll get sick," Alice said trying to persuade Shena to move from her seat because if she stayed there for too long, it was certain that the girl would get a fever. Shena didn't answer, she just looked with a questioning gaze at the certainty of her best friend's words. Shena didn't want it to be just a hoax by Alice to seduce her into obeying her best friend's wishes. "Yes. I'll tell you everything, as long as you listen to me right now," said Alice, who seemed to know the meaning of the girl's gaze who was sitting with a broken spirit. Shena tried to believe the words given by Alice. She nodded as Alice reached out, asking Shena to take her hand so that the girl wouldn't find it too hard to stand up. Shena took Alice's hand. Not forgetting Alice also spread a towel over her best friend's back. "Thank you, Al," said Shena, who had seen the concern of her best friend. "Don't thank me, we're like brothers, not just friends," Alice replied with a smile. Shena returned Alice's smile. "Yes, already. You change your clothes first. I'll wait outside," the girl said again. "Yes," Shena replied as she nodded her head. Alice stepped out, leaving Shena alone. While waiting for Shena to put on her clothes, Alice went back to warming up the soup and various foods she had bought earlier, so that Shena could enjoy the warmth of the food and also warm her friend's body. Before her hands had finished moving the soup from the warmer, Shena came in still with her sad face. "Sit down first! The food is already cold, so I'm warming it up again," Alice said as she explained what she was doing. "Shena sat on a chair at the dining table. The girl saw that there was a lot of food up there. "Did you cook it yourself?" asked Shena who had been looking at the various dishes on the table, now turned to look at Alice who was still busy putting dirty cooking utensils in the sink. Alice turned her head. "If there's something practical, why choose something difficult?" she replied with a wink. Shena shook her head. It was no longer strange for Shena to hear the words issued by Alice. Her best friend liked instant things the most and didn't want to bother herself. "Learn to cook. You'll have a family someday!" said Shena, who was still sitting sweetly waiting for Alice. The girl Shena was talking to came over as she finished her work with two bowls of warm soup for them to enjoy this morning. "It's sold online now, just order it. It's easy," Alice replied casually. Shena shook her head again. "Are you going to give your child unhealthy food from out there?" asked Shena again as she leaned forward slightly towards Alice. "Take it easy. I can cook too," said Alice, who acted haughtily by raising her head slightly. She did not want to be underestimated by Shena. "Cook what?" asked Shena again with a mocking face. She knew Alice very well and knew that the girl couldn't make complicated kinds of food. Alice brought her face right in front of Shena. "Want to know?" she asked back. Shena nodded quickly. "Cook water and instant noodles without any processed meat," Alice said and immediately pulled her body back and laughed out loud. Shena, who had been taking and waiting seriously for Alice's words, also pulled back her body with a frown on her face. What Alice said was something anyone could do, without exception. However, at least Alice's joke could make Shena forget about the unfortunate incident last night. "Never mind you, a 10-year-old can do it too!" Shena replied to Alice's words. "Huh? Since when can they do that? There's no such thing Shena. It's just a hoax," Alice replied while waving her hand. Shena scowled and it was printed on Shena's beautiful face that this morning looked a little pale. "Never mind. Come on, have breakfast! If we keep arguing, the food will get cold. Can you bear to see me standing there again for two bowls of warm soup?" Alice asked with a twist of her lips. Shena smiled. "I'm not asking you to argue. We're just chatting," Shena said, trying to correct Alice's words that sounded a little wrong. Again Alice's hand flew in the air asking her best friend to stop talking. "Stop! We're eating now!" Alice pleaded. Shena just nodded. In the middle of their meal. Shena suddenly stopped her hand movements and daydreamed a little. The girl was thinking about her future, even though she knew most of her friends her age no longer thought about such things, and also many of them said that girls who were still virgins were very embarrassing. In most European countries, 17-year-old girls were already celebrating the 'Virginity Party', but it was very different with Shena who upheld her most precious possession, according to her thoughts. Seeing Shena who was just silent made Alice also stop her hand movements which had repeatedly fed the food on the spoon into her mouth. "Shen," Alice called while touching the hand of the girl sitting in front of her. Shena woke up from her reverie and immediately looked at Alice forcing a smile on her face. "Eat. You can't daydream while eating," Alice said. She knew what was bothering Shena's mind. "Al," "I promise I'll tell you everything after I eat," Alice replied quickly. She knew what the girl sitting in front of her was saying. Shena could only sigh softly and continued eating. It seemed that the girl couldn't wait for Alice who was cleaning up the rest of their meal. It's not that Shena didn't want to help, but Alice herself asked her to sit sweetly while waiting for the girl to finish. Shena kept looking over, seeing what Alice was doing. Wanting to get up from there because her hands were itching to help her best friend, but again Alice glared at her when Shena was about to stand up from her seat. The sound of footsteps that sounded a little faint from the house slippers that someone was wearing, was caught clearly in Shena's hearing. She sat right next to Shena but with her back to the girl. "Are you getting better?" she asked.
