Chapter 24: Rulings Part 1

Alpha Marcus

I was in my cell for a few days, which seemed like weeks, to be honest, I could be wrong and I was beaten and tortured but I didn't care. My Beta Boar was killed a few hours ago and my brother had almost fully healed from his burns after being roasted in dragon fire, he was in the infirmary and they will probably kill him soon. I was not leaving here without my mate, and my son; Michael owed a debt and he should pay up, he hid from me for far too long. I was drifting off to sleep when I felt pain in my chest and I knew it was that f*****g Fae touching my mate, I could not let them f**k, it would break the spell I had on her. I mind-linked her quickly and worked my charm on her, I needed one of the Supremes to visit so I could invoke this law and get Emerie to come to me, once we f**k, it would be sealed, and Michael won't be able to get her and they would have no choice but to let us be.

I was going to win my mate, he stole mine years ago so I took my p*****t and I can't wait to watch him watch my family leave here with me. Rune contacted Diamond who apologized for letting another touch her, her bond was stronger with Rune and this would play in my favor. I woke up to the sunlight peeping through a small hole in the wall on me and I was hungry, they feed me once a day at least, I linked my baby again and she missed me, she loves me and I love her, I told her we will be together soon. Michael walked into the cells he had me chained up in, with Supreme Beta Drax with him and I knew by law, he had to abide by the rules, so I smiled and asked for my mate and heir. Michael was furious, no fear this time, it seemed he had grown up and was ready to fight for my mate, but I was not having it. I looked at Beta Drax and said, "Your Highness, I need my mate and heir." Drax walked over to me and said, "Not happening," Michael took his gun out, started laughing, and asked, "Why did you take my wife?"

I said, "Our deal was written blood, you forfeited your mate when you signed the dotted line, it doesn't matter if you are mated. You can confirm it with the ancient one," and looked at Drax, who said, "He is right, Michael, as long it is written in blood, he can take Emerie and his child." Michael said, "No, Drax, I never did such a thing, you saw it," and went to pull the trigger, Drax stopped him and said, "We need to get Aidan on this, he can solve this matter. If you break the contract by killing him, you will lose Emerie as well," I could see he was furious, and then I said, "I, Alpha Marcus, of Blood Ridge Pack invoke the right to take my mate, and heir, without punishment as it is written in the law," Drax said, "Fuck." He knew those words anchored Emerie to me and would have two weeks before she needed to be at my side. He then bit into me as I screamed in agony and he pulled back saying, "He is telling the truth, something is not right, you have no memory of it, Michael."

Later that day, I was released from my cell and taken to a guest room in the Palace, they gave me clothes and anything I asked for, I was a guest of King Adian since I invoked the law. I was happy Barbara told me about the law and it would work in my favor, I wondered if she was captured or dead, no one told me anything but I was allowed to visit my brother after I cleaned up. King Aidan is away for at least a week or two before he deals with my case and I hope I will succeed in getting Emerie in my bed soon, although Drax saw what was in my mind. He is bound by the law not to say anything to Michael and the murderous look he gives me, shows that he doesn't like it one bit but the law is the law.

I visited my brother, he was handcuffed to the bed, he was surprised to see me and he said, "I'm glad you are not dead but they will kill you for this, I told you this was a stupid idea, you could have mated anyone," I told him, "Nope, it was my mate or no one." I looked at him and said, "Dragon fire takes a long time to heal," he said, "I know, I almost died but Beta Ryker healed me a bit so that I won't die quickly." I smiled saying, "Beta Drax's mate is here," my brother nodded and said, "I think Drax has a thing for Michael," I smiled saying, "Are you sure?" He said, "It sounded like it when they were arguing about what to do with me," I smiled because I wondered if Ryker knew that Michael had a thing for his mate.

As time progressed, I explored the Palace but I always had guards on my tail, I could sense my mate and went to my room linking and begging her to come to me. She was scared and didn't know what to do and I persuaded her, she was on her way and I waited as the moon was high, I was going to get my mate but something happened. I was blocked for some reason, I couldn't feel her anymore, two days passed, and I couldn't wait anymore, something was wrong so I got up and decided to find her. I was walking around when I ran into Michael, I could smell my Emerie all over him and I was furious, no one was around and I said, "Two days and I can leave with my mate." Michael looked at me with no fear and I reveled in it, I am glad he was not the scary man I met all those years ago and I attacked him.

I grabbed his throat but there was something off about him when he said, "Soon, you will be begging for your life, mutt," feeling his dagger at my throat. I was shocked and didn't even see when he pulled it out, he was quick, I would give him that. His eyes flicked to this dark gray and I backed off saying "You will regret this, I should have killed you long ago," I heard the guards behind me and I turned to go back to my room, I could hear him yell at them to keep me away from him and I smiled knowing I had gotten under his skin. However, Emerie is mine and I will leave here with her.

Two Weeks Ago

Drax

After that moron invoked the law, it pained me to see that Michael and Emerie had to endure more of this because of this fool. I saw what he had planned in his blood and I showed the others, Aidan was pissed but he had to make the right decision on this. Ty was ready to kill his ass and Toffe came back and started going through the law with a fine teeth comb. Our counterparts were giving input on when Kiev first signed the law into the land and we were discussing it over video call as Aidan was still on vacation but Toffe was back at the Palace. Ty decided to join me walking through a portal and I asked Aidan, "Should I tell Michael about this?" Aidan said, "You can't," I was furious, I hated keeping anything from him. Ty linked Ryker to take Marcus to a guest room as he is a guest of the court until the trial, he can see his brother who will be imprisoned and not killed but his Beta had to go, he was a rapist.

Aidan waited until Toffe came in the room and joined us in his beach shorts, "Like really, you're supposed to be meditating," I said and he smiled saying, "What do you have, TT?" Toffe put the book down on the table saying, "You guys not going to like this but this was a well thought out plan," I said, "What do you mean, Kid?" Toffe went on to explain, that the magic he used, was part of this whole thing, the anchor was his only way of keeping Emerie at his side. As far as we can tell, Michael made the deal, but he doesn't remember it, we need to find out why and what witch was strong enough to wipe his memory that even we didn't pick it up. I knew this had Dark Witch written all over it and I linked Ryker to find out what Barbara knew, she was still imprisoned in the cells. Marcus was not as crazy as we thought, he was a clever bastard and knew exactly what he was doing or someone helped him plan this.

Aidan said, "Oh f**k, this is not good, especially if Emerie still loves him because of the spell and it appears to be deep, we need to find out why Michael has no memory of the deal he made, and maybe, find a reversal fast, we have about two weeks and a few days before I need to decide on it. However, her true mate bond with Michael should hold if she doesn't love Marcus, and maybe, I won't have to rule in his favor." Toffe said, "True, but Michael removed the magic, she should not still love Marcus or have feelings for him, but she still does," Aidan said, "f**k," I said, "What does that mean, Toffe?" I wanted to hear him say it, he said, "Emerie has to go with Marcus if she is in love with him because if we separate them now due to the anchor, it will send them both mad." I threw my bottle of beer across the room breaking it and said, "We will not do that to Michael, you hear me, find a way," pointing my fingers at Aidan.

I didn't care that he was my Alpha, I was doing this because he was my blood brother, Vlad's brother and this would not end well if he did this, I would defy him if I had to and suffer the consequences. I yelled, "We Know Michael, he wouldn't do this, I am telling you, this anchor is bullshit, something is not adding up." Aidan said, "Sorry Drax, it's final, Emerie will have to go with Marcus, it appears he has successfully stolen her from Michael," Vlad came forward yelling, "futuis quod Kioviensis, amicus et familia noster est, non eum deseremus c*m ibi nobis etiam in morte fuit," (f**k that, Kiev, he is our friend and family, we will not abandon him when he was there for us even in death, don't do this.) He looked at me and I looked at Ty who was silent leaning on the wall masking his feelings on this and Toffe stood behind the desk just watching us go at it.

Aidan said, "Ego nihil delectum regem, Vlad, sequor legem," (I have no choice as King, Vlad, I follow the law), I pushed him and said, "I will not let you do this to him if you do this, we will lose Michael to his Dark Side, he will go rogue," he looked at me eyes glowing fighting his wolf saying, "Stand down, Klaus," as my wolf wanted to come forward but I was fighting his Alpha command and I knock his ass back cracking the wall, Ty jumped between us and said, "Wait, stop, we could find a way to prove if Emerie loves Michael or Marcus, put her in a position to choose," Aidan looked at me smiling and said, "What do you have in mind?"
