Chapter 6: Betrayed

Michael had been spending little time at the Palace and I could understand why since Kaitlyn had moved in. They weren't seeing eye to eye, Michael even hated her, and I felt sad about it. He loved her before he moved to Europe for a few years, I thought they would have worked it out and got mated. Even our mother was excited, she loved Kaitlyn but her father had a hold on her for some reason, I would never understand hurting my mate the way Kaitlyn hurt Michael. I turned to see my phone ringing and it was my mate, Allison, I smiled, she was at her mother's store and confirmed the time for me to meet her at the ball. Aidan had a ball where he invited all the Elites and his business allies along with some of his enemies to show who was the big fish in town, it also showcased the opening of Valmore Headquarters, and the building, was exquisite. Allison had been putting off being coronated as I wore her mark, but she wanted me to mark her at the coronation as it was tradition.
We lived together most days at the Palace, however, Allison still would stay with her parents on other days as King Roman hated interracial species and according to her father, he was trying to get Roman to change it for his daughter so that was one of the reasons for the delay in crowning my Queen. I didn't mind, I was hers and she was mine, her father was the one who held her back as she wanted his approval, she loved her father and from what I can tell, he loves her. As the day moved on and my tux was delivered, Omri and my sister were going in place of Michael, Michael was on a special mission for Aidan tonight and was working with Elijah. My third in command, Jarvis, will be running things in our absences tonight and my father will pop in to ensure we have everything in place in case of emergencies. However, we were mostly a peaceful species but things can happen and it's better to be prepared. After leaving the office, I was driving down the road leading to the Palace.
I saw Lord Fehmir's car at the local coffee shop and he was meeting Elder Eric which was odd, I never knew he had a meeting with him today but I paid it no mind, it was probably about the coronation and I was excited. There was a law on the books, it was old and wouldn't require King Roman's approval, only Aidan's so we were being coronated in a few days. The wolves were the dominant species behind the Vampires because of who the former Supremes were, there was never another species that was ever given that power by the goddess, so since wolves were the last in power, King Roman ran things in Ravena, and usually because of blackmail, especially after taking out Aidan all those years ago. I got out of the shower and I had Allison on the line, she was about to leave and told me to pick her up from her parent's place, instead of meeting her there at the ball. Another call came through and it was my brother after hanging up with Allison.

I stopped to pick up my mate for the ball, we were running late as I was handling some business with Michael, she was staying with her parents for a few days. I was making plans for her coronation and everything was going according to plan, I waited a while but my mind link wasn't going through so I decided to go to her parent's apartment as they should have left for the ball already. Her father doesn't like me and the feeling is mutual, however, I will respect him as my mate's father and keep the peace. As the elevator door opened, I called her name and had no answer, I saw her purse on the counter, so I figured she was probably in her room and decided maybe I could sneak in some sexy time. I felt a pang in my chest that brought me to my knees and I was dizzy and thought someone was hurting Allison, so I got up and ran to her room and I froze in shock.
I didn't know what to do, she was being f****d by her bodyguard and she looked right at me and smiled before moaning his name, my heart broke into a million pieces so I turned to leave, as I approached the elevator, I felt a pain so severe I screamed, I was in so much pain. I started thinking, "How could she do this to me?" The mark on my neck started to burn and I felt like I was being stabbed in my heart, but then the pain stopped, I felt relief, my neck stopped burning and I got up and entered the elevator, barely able to stand, I was weak and dizzy. I leaned up on the wall to help me stay on my feet and when I reached my car, I drove off at full speed, I didn't see the lights change and I crashed before passing out.

I had left to go on a very secretive mission to rescue some women and girls from the breeding house, we had vital information that Roman kept all types of species here for breeding soldiers and s*x trafficking. The breeding house was isolated from the city and I saw Elder Eric drive past us but we were invisible so they wouldn't be tipped off at the facility. I hated that guy for some reason, I could never really put my finger on it, he was, however, my future Queen's father. When we reached there, we parked a little way from the place and had our drivers on standby, I took to the skies with three of my other men, and other missionaries along with Elijah breached the facilities. We were taking men out as we moved further around the facility, I could hear the screams of the women and I saw Drago, one of Roman's lackeys and Elder changed into his wolf and taking on a vampire.
I took out my syringe and landed on his back injecting him and forcing him to change back to his human form, he looked at me and yelled, "King Roman will have your head for this," I said, "He is not my King," and knocked him out. We loaded up the vans and I saw the Cloudwater boy's mother, she had another child and was heavily pregnant, I knew this would be a great gift to them and I felt bad that she was right under our noses for so many years and we never knew. We started to clean house and I saw a sign that Bolt had put up with Pearson, I laughed, it said, 'f**k YOU KING ROMAN, YOU ARE NOT OUR KING.' I linked them for being cocky but Elijah was laughing too, and we knew that we did a good job today as we reached the highway and saw Allan burning the facility to the ground in the distance. I was on the phone talking to Cayden who was in a brief meeting about his Queen's upcoming coronation in a week, I told him about what took place at the facility and who we found.
He was delighted and ordered us back to report as soon as possible, I told him to take care of our Queen and have fun tonight before we both hung up. As we looked at the prisoner and the victims, about a few miles into the drive, I started to sweat and felt dizzy. Elijah asked, "What's happening?" I said, "I don't know," before I felt pain and panic, I got a flash of my brother weakened and pulling himself into his car and I said, "Cayden," before I passed out. I woke up with a beeping sound and I was in the hospital, Elijah said, "Your brother is on his way," and I panicked saying, "Get me to Cayden," but I was weak, I felt rage, I was struggling to hold it back when I bust the door open and everyone looked at me, I looked at my hand in disbelief.

I healed most of Cayden's injuries but he was in a coma, he was still in bad shape and could die, the only thing keeping him alive was his link to me and I was weak because he was draining my energy to stay alive. I had no choice but to reach out to Aidan for help and he completely healed Cayden, he told me, "Let him rest, he will wake up when he is ready." I got stronger as the days passed and I was confused as to why he would crash, I tried to reach Allison but my link wasn't going through, I wasn't going to her father's place because I would kill him after what I saw at the breeding facility. We had postponed the coronation because of what was happening, Allison needed to know what was wrong with her mate and be here for him but something felt so off and wrong.
I looked her up and she was still at her parents still not answering me, I was doing Cayden's duties as King, for now until he woke up when I got a message that he was awake and I headed to where he was resting. I reached Cyden's quarters, I asked him, "What happened, and why can't I reach Allison?" He looked at me and said, "Don't let that b***h into my territory," and told me what happened. I was shocked and said, "Are you sure?" He showed me what he saw when he touched my forehead and I was just as furious and nodded in understanding before leaving him to rest. I couldn't believe after almost nine years Allison would do that to my brother, I felt betrayed for him because I had been there and it was pain like no other.
