Chapter 1: Coping

Many Years Later

I started to fight a lot to get over what happened, and I decided to find those who were a part of the coup and make them pay. I got Omri and Jared to help create a unique team of fighters and we trained hard, we were the best of the best and we became guns for hire, we would take out mostly bad guys for high-end clients, I had one rule no children were to be harmed. Cayden ruled the Kingdom with an iron fist after what happened and I don’t blame him, we became very weary of who we let in our circle, Lord Fehmir, I didn’t trust one bit, but he was on the council and a trusted advisor taking over from his father. My mother decided that she wanted more children and I looked at her confused but smiled, I stuttered, "Aaren'ttttt we enough," and my father said, "We are trying for a girl," and Cayden said, "A sister, that would be interesting," and we laughed. I loved my parents and if we do get a sister she would be treasured.

Kaitlyn was still my mate but we were still seeing each other on the down low for the past few years and since I remained a Prince, she has changed towards me. There was something off about her but I couldn't put my finger on it, I trust her, I just think her father has a lot to do with it and she hopefully will tell me what is going on. However, I have been busy since Cayden found out that Aidan and the others will be resurrected soon, we just didn't know when and Cayden was going to be one of their advisors, I still couldn't believe they would be the future Supremes of Ravena. I went down to the building where my Elite Team trains, and I saw some of my best men go at it and I was impressed, as the years went by, we would have to up our game but we needed to be the best. Years went by and I eventually was rejected by Kaitlyn, she was removed from the castle and sent to live elsewhere until things settled down, or in other words, banished.

I hated her, she rejected me because I wasn’t King and then I found her in bed with one of my team members. I almost killed the b***h, and I had Cayden exile Matthew from the Kingdom, he promised that he will get his revenge, but I didn’t care, I wanted him gone. His brother chose to join him, and I could understand brotherly love but his brother betrayed me and I wasn't having it even if my former mate was a w***e. I started to harden my heart, I didn't have much feelings for people, only family and if I wanted to snuff out traitors, it was best not to care. There was something inside of me that wanted out and I knew one day, it would be set free, although I don't know what it was, it felt like another person, maybe, I was going crazy with vengeance.

I eventually took up a harem myself and decided to f**k off with mates, they are rare anyway, it's only because either of us would need an heir to continue the line that we held out from mating someone or we could have chosen a maiden in the land already. Hopefully, we can find a pure-blooded fae to procreate with, Cayden was hurt after what happened, he wanted to execute Matthew for hurting me along with Kaitlyn but because of who Kaitlyn was to the Elders, she was forced to leave the Palace, and Matthew was spared as long as he stays away from Faeora. They were in a secret relationship for months and I never knew about it, no wonder he has been challenging me a lot when we train together.

One Year Ago

I had returned late in the night from a quest I was sent on by Cayden, only a few men were needed as it would be quick, we were looking for items that the Supremes would need when they came into power and we were trying to track down Toffe, gossip was that he disappeared after he tried to kill Roman but he was imprisoned, no one knows where or if he is still alive, I wanted to find the kid so bad, I owed it to Ty but we had no leads. I decided to go to Kaitlyn’s quarters, I wanted her to give us a chance again, I loved her, and I missed her, it was paining me that her father would get his way. I know I needed to spend time with her, I f****d up being away all the time, I was excited that she might give me a chance after receiving her letter to talk and I wanted to mark her, we had been a secret long enough and after the miscarriage, I figured it was time we took the next step.

I knew she was hurt, she lost our child and I figured that was the reason behind her rejecting me but we can fix this, I was going public with her once it was all sorted out. The hallway leading up to her room was quiet, so I tried to be discreet but when I got to the bedroom door I heard noises, I took my dagger out because I was confused. I listened carefully and it was moaning sounds, I started to feel rage, something wanted out and I couldn’t control it and I pushed the door, there was my team member Matthew with his c**k buried deep in my mate, they jumped, and Kaitlyn screamed. I released my aura on Matthew as he wanted to fight me and he submitted, my hands shook with my anger when my mother ran into the room and said, “You need to calm down, Michael,” and Cayden rushed into the room having Matthew arrested. I turned to leave, and I saw Lord Fehmir smile from the corner of my eyes and I knew he had something to do with this.

One Month Before the Awakening

Hundreds of years had passed and we became a very secretive Elite Team, we were assassins working for the crown and hired by other Kingdoms, we moved discretely, and since technology has been getting better, so have we. Bolt became my general and second-in-command to my team. My team was made up of different species but my four-man team was the best, they work exclusively with me if I am in the field. Cayden had been receiving dreams about Aidan's return and working with King Elijah to get things in order, all we knew was, that it was pretty soon they would be back and I couldn't wait. I was putting off my training just to help him prepare as it was a top priority. We had gotten land purchased for the Mansion dedicated to them and had very unique design for each of the Supremes, I had a room done for Toffe because we were still looking for him and I knew Ty would want to find him.

We had word a few years ago that he was alive but then news of his death came and we stopped looking. This room will be a reminder in case he is dead, however, we still held out hope and would look into any leads but lately, nothing popped up, Roman ran a tight ship because his men were scared of him and others were loyal because they think just like him. I had business to attend to after meeting the designers of the mansion to make sure all tutors were available but no one knows why we need those tutors, King Roman signed off on the land after Elijah and Cayden guilt trip him to selling it and we will develop it into Aidan's pack. All of our allies pitched in and our designated witches always kept our trails clean. I met up with Ryker although I didn't like him especially after he was one of Aidan's betrayers, we found that out years ago and I was furious.

Drax loved and trusted him, he hurt him in the worst way possible but this is strictly business so I will keep my disdain for him at bay. Ryker had a realty firm and we wanted to purchase property for whatever business the boys would want to have, he knew I didn't like him but he was being professional. I respected his wife and mate Lora because she was mated to Drax before he was killed, I never understood why he would mate with his former mate's mate but I kept out of it, Drax will fix that when he returns. After the deal was done and the building purchased, I headed to my penthouse in the city where one of my ladies in my harem waited for me. I had promised her lunch but I was exhausted and just wanted to get my d**k wet and sleep. Everyone still thinks I am mute although my speech got better over the years and I dealt with a speech therapist in private.

Only my family knows about this, my sister Halle has returned from Troll territory where she had been living for a while with her boyfriend, he met his mate and they broke up. I looked at Sylvia as she was in bed in a thong, no bra watching TV and I stripped down joining her, I spent the evening entangled in sheets, eating food, before falling into a deep needed sleep. I woke up with a link telling me that Kaitlyn was back at the Palace and I saw red, I forgot that her banishment was up and she would be back in society.
