Zen carefully lowered herself onto the lawn, pressing against the wall as her feet hit the ground. As quietly as she could manage, she closed the window, careful not to lock it so that she could sneak back in. She kept to the shadow of the wall and made her way onto the main road, keeping hidden as best she could until she was a few blocks away and could no longer make out the house.
She straightened and marched to Calum’s house. She knew it was close by, though she had no idea exactly where to go. She had a theory about the whole enchantment thing that she wanted to test. If Calum could sense when she was in danger, maybe the enchantment went both ways. She'd noticed herself finding him at school when she hadn’t meant to, but she always turned away quickly to be sure he didn’t notice.
