Chapter Nine

1254 Words
A few months later.. M E L I S S A I was now, 5 months pregnant my baby belly was showing a lot more, it made it harder to hide from everyone. I was able to head into work a little bit earlier than normal so no one would suspect anything. Although today, Harry and I are going to check out rental places for this new shop he is opening and wants me to run and manage for him. I was wearing a simple black pant, with a nice blue shirt, not to mention a trench coat to hide my baby bump. I knew if people saw this and with Harry, people will assume that it was his. Not that I would prefer that but I didn't want people to know yet. A small knock came at the apartment door, slowly heading over to it, looking through the peep hole to see Harry standing outside. I opened it not long after that, he of course was wearing another interesting suit. "Well don't you look lovely," he smiled as he stepped into the apartment. My cheeks began to go red at his comment knowing that I was blushing hardcore, I cleared my throat and grabbed my handbag that was hanging on the side of the chair. "Before we go to some places, I thought about maybe stopping off at a cafe, where you can tell me more about this vision of the toy store you have," Harry spoke. "Of course," I smiled. The two of us left the apartment, heading down to the lobby where I saw his car waiting outside. Harry opened the door for me, allowing me to exit first. "How are you feeling about today?" Harry asked as we got into his car. "A little anxious and nervous," I bit my lip watching him start the car. Harry looked over at me gently and grasped my left hand, "Don't be, it's going to be fine." I only wished that was true, I sighed and leaned my head back against the car, only to gasp slight which alarmed Harry. "What? What is wrong?" He asked. A small tear fell from my eye as I felt my baby kick for the first time, gently grabbing his hand allowing it to spread over my swollen stomach. He was confused for a few moments until he felt the baby kick. "Oh my," his eyes went wide, he hasn't felt a baby kick since his sister. I couldn't help but smile, it made me realise then, that I really didn't care what people thought if they saw my baby bump. "Harry can I ask you something, if you don't want to it's fine," I spoke. Harry removed his hand and backed out onto the main road, "Ask me anything." "I want you there with me Harry," was all I could say as my mouth went dry. "With you where?" He asked confused. I was trying to put the words together, "I want you there with me Harry, when I give birth." Harry was silent for a few moments which alarmed me, instantly self doubt came into my mind. This was stupid. You are stupid Of course he wouldn’t want to be there The silence was killing me, I gently placed a hand over my bump. "Are you serious?" Harry asked. I looked at him, nodding my head as I could no longer trust my voice. It wasn't long until Harry smiled widely. "It would be a honour to be there with you, through every step of the way. There is something you should know," Harry spoke. I sighed a deep breath of relief as he said yes but grew concerned when he wanted me to know something, "What is that?" "Well I didn't just want to take you to the cafe first to think business. I was hoping we could turn it into a date,” Harry replied. I couldn’t help but blush once again, he wanted to turn this into a date. “That sounds perfect,” I replied. When Harry pulled up at the cafe I couldn’t help but notice how cute it was, opening my car door, I stepped out grabbing my handbag as I did. The two of us walked in, once we had everything and took a seat. The cafe was made with different types of wood from oak to birch, not to mention a lovely dark emerald green, with nice open glass windows. I looked at the menu which was filled with different things, I wasn’t sure what to get. “Do you normally come here?” I asked Harry. Harry looked up from the menu, “No I don’t, but I remember you saying, you don’t like expensive places when it comes to food. So I searched the next best one that didn’t cost too much.” That’s right, I have always hated expensive places, whenever my parents used to go to one, I never liked the portion size as it was way to small for the price. “I guess I’ll get the strawberry waffles, with a small decaf latte with 3 sugars,” I spoke as I finally found something that tickled my interest. Harry smiled, “Well I guess I’ll have the avocado toast with a small americano.” Harry stood up he refused to let me pay, I watched as he walked over to the counter to do our food and drink order. It wasn’t long until he walked back with a table number, placing it down in the centre of our table. “So what type of building are you looking for Melissa?” Harry asked as he grasped my left hand with his right. “Well I’m hoping for a large one, that way we could add multiple seconds from baby to teen. Giving each age a different level, I was even thinking of adding a cafe just in with the baby section,” I replied. “That’s a not bad idea actually, I think I have the perfect building in mind,” Harry smiled. It only took about 10 minutes for our food and drinks to come, I was amazed by how good it looked. “Now, I have also started to get the business out there. I know we haven’t got a building yet or have it set out, I thought it would be a good idea for you to join me in the interviews as you’ll be running the business,” Harry spoke as he cut into his avocado toast. “That sounds good, when are the interviews?” I asked cutting into my waffles. “Over the next few days, my assistant has been getting emails over the last month of people who want to work there, we’ve had to cut it down to 100 people interviewed and are only taking about 60 for now,” he replied. “Who is going to be there when I take leave?” I asked him after chewing and swallowing a piece of waffle. “Well I thought I could get a break from the office and manage the store, you could visit sit in the office,” Harry smirked. I chuckled before eating some more off the waffles and drinking some of my decaf latte. After our brunch at the cafe, we headed around London looking at buildings. Harry showed me the one he was thinking about and to be honest it would be perfect for what I wanted to do.
