Chapter Two
Terrence
My name is Terrence Aurora. I am a werewolf from the Moonstone pack. My father, Daniel is the current Alpha. My mother, Isabella is the Luna. I'm turning eighteen this year, which means, I will be able to sense my mate. And after that, I will be proclaimed as the next Alpha.
I couldn't wait for that day to arrive as I take pride in my pack. It's the biggest and the strongest in our region. My father as well as our ancestors were well respected.
I grew up with a precise goal in my mind. I am a Aurora. I will be an Alpha someday and rule Moonstone. I will have a mate, my Luna, who will rule side by side with me. We will have kids who will continue our lineage and celebrate the greatness of our clan.
My legacy and that of my predecessors will not cease to exist. My blood, their blood, will live on.
This year is my senior year in high school. I do plan to continue my tertiary education but since I will be the next leader of my pack, it will not be on top of my priority list. My father received special education after he took the seat from my grandfather. He just finished high school then, too.
One of our pack's main sources of income is the university located in our territory. The Moonstone University. It wasn't meant to be a livelihood for us but as time passed by, more humans became willing to pay higher to get their kids enter the institution. We do have the best teachers and curriculum here.
Here at Moonstone, I have seen not only my fellow werewolves in my pack, but also accepted rogues in the pack, and humans living outside our territory.
There are two types of rogue wolves. The ones that were banished from their own packs and the ones that lost their homes from raids and outside attacks. But there are some that I don't know how they became rogues. Just like the one I met a week ago.
Timothee.
I heard from my father that the insolent mutt came to our land for refuge together with his grandmother. He said that the two had traveled and hopped from one group to another. But they never seemed to fit in. I could tell why. That mutt smells trouble.
When I met him for the first time, I had no idea who he was. It was odd when I felt his presence even before the moment he was heading out of the bathroom. He was walking backwards and stumbled on me and my younger brother Klarence. My beta.
(Flashback)
My blood rose up when he didn't apologize right away. I yelled at him. "WATCH IT, YOU MUTT!"
His pale and smooth skin seemed to irritate me the more I looked at him. And when he looked back at me with his defiant black orbs, I felt deeper annoyance.
"I'm sorry then. You didn't have to yell at me. And I'm not a mutt. I'm a pure blood--ack!"
I don't know what came over me. I felt rage when his words dared to fight me back. They rubbed me the wrong way. I wanted him to submit to me. I am the future alpha. No one has ever talked back to me.
"What were you gonna tell me?!" I growled as I pinned him against the wall with my arm across his neck. My knee reflexively wedged between his legs to keep him from moving and fighting back. I doubted he was human by the strength he was using to put up with me.
"Get. Off of me! You brute!"
It perplexed me how he was successful in his resistance over my domineering aura. I was emanating it that even Klarence backed away. My wolf was more angry. He pushed to get out so he could make the boy in front of us yield.
I couldn't let Duke out. It would be chaos. He can be unstoppable if he's out. And with the stubbornness of the boy in front of me, I don't think Duke will stop at just throwing him off to a wall.
"Yield, you mutt." Duke was able to appear even just for a moment to give the boy one last chance. I was surprised he didn't just go for his throat.
"Never." He snarled back. He was firm, unafraid, willful. And his eyes said it all. He was challenging me. The nerve of him to say that. How dare he disrespect a future alpha.
Duke got out and took over my consciousness. "You dare to defy me? Your name, mutt!" My wolf is a strong authoritative wolf and I am proud of him.
I saw from Duke's view how the boy's gaze change along with the color of his eyes. Golden. "You don't deserve to know my name." He hissed back, unyielding he was.
Duke snapped and grabbed the boy's neck, choking him against the wall. I had to push him out to take over again when I heard a teacher told the students to go to their respective classrooms.
"And you, Timothee! How many times do I have to remind you? No fooling around before or after classes. Or any time for that matter. Or you'll be kicked out from this school, too." The teacher said, scolding the boy in front of me.
I can't let my father find out that I lost control of Duke again and let him go berserk. Especially not on a student. And inside the school premises.
I heard the teacher's footsteps before I sensed him bow before me. I was already letting go of the boy's neck. "Future alpha, I apologize for Timothee's behavior. He's a new transfer and he doesn't know his place yet."
I did not glance at the teacher. My eyes were fixed on the eyes of the boy in front of me. And again, the change of color in his eyes didn't escape my attention. They were golden.
I smirked. "I know your name now. You insolent mutt."
The insolent boy was about to pounce on me with anger when two voices called his attention.
"TIM! NO!"
The twins Bailey and Wyatt walked towards us, quickly bowed to me and pulled the boy they called Timothee away. I heard my brother call me and I had to calm Duke down first before heading to my class.
(Flashback ends)
I still don't understand that boy's actions. He is a rogue who took refuge at my pack. Yet he acted so mighty and very, very stubborn.
I noticed how he isn't mind-linked to us yet either. Usually my father would have initiated the ritual to accept a werewolf into the pack before they can go about their way freely in our territory. That mutt and his grandmother were even given special quarters in the pack house. Not only that, he is also enrolled in my school for free because he was recommended by my father. What is going on here?
One thing I know for sure though. That Timothee is a T for trouble. I won't ever be friends with him nor accept him in my pack. And Duke couldn't agree more. 'He can go kiss my furry butt.'
