*** Myah POV**
We are in the car headed to Lawrence's pack. I still can't believe I agreed to go back with him. Technically if he turns out to be crazy and he kills me, no one would ever know. However, I can't deny the connection I feel with him. I also want to know who I truly am, and I think this is the only way I will find out.
The drive will be a long one. When we got back to the house, he gave me my new cell phone. I've never been allowed one in the past. The only number in it is his. There's no one else I know. I haven't told him I don't know how to use it. I know how to answer it, but I don't know how to play games or watch videos. So I have just held it on the way. Occasionally I hear dings on his phone, and I wonder who is texting him. He seems to be popular.
I let out a deep growl and state, "MINE."
I looked at him, shocked afterward. I could hear Raine in my head asking, "who mate is talking to?" She seems to be very jealous, and as am I.
Lawrence looked and me smirking. "Is that you, or is Raine getting jealous."
"A little bit of both, I admit." Shrugging my shoulders.
"Don't be too jealous. Myah, it's the pack, preparing for your arrival. I want you to be as comfortable as possible when we get home." Lawrence says
When he says "home," it excites me. I haven't felt like I've been home for years. I have had a place to rest my head but not a home.
I felt so relaxed with Lawrence and eventually drifted into sleep.
**** Flash Back****
I had been sitting in one of the chairs in the lobby for a long time. There were lots of people around, and it was noisy. My mother told me not to move, so I was trying to be a good girl and listen to her. She had been in the bathroom for a long time, and I was starting to get worried.
I walked up to a lady at the window and said:" My mommy has been gone for a long time. Can you help me find her ?" The nice lady took me by the hand and helped me look for my mother. She wasn't in the bathrooms like she said or outside. I couldn't see her car anymore.
" What's that in your hands, honey? The nice lady asked. "It's a letter I'm holding for mommy, I said.
She took the letter from me as she began to read the message. I could tell my mother wasn't coming back. She looked at me with such pity.
**** End Flashback****
"Myah! Myah! wake up," Lawrence was yelling
I opened my eyes, and he was giving me a concerned look.
"Myah, what were you dreaming about? You were crying, he asked.
"The last time I saw my mother," I said. Closing my eyes and drifting back into a dreamless state.
**** Lawrence POV****
I drove straight through the night because she was sleeping well, and I wanted to get home. I was also concerned that she was having a nightmare and calling out to her mother in her sleep.
When we began to pull up the long driveway, I woke Myah.
"Were here already? she said
"Yes, ts about 7 in the morning. I didn't want to wake you."
As we got out of the car, people began filing out of the house. I had mind linked the pack to let them know we had arrived. They stood in straight lines in rolls with my father at the top of the steps. I could hear Myahs heartbeat quicken, and I could tell she was overwhelmed, but the smile on her face said it was a good thing.
Myah, meet your new family. Each one of these members of the pack is now a part of you. They will serve, defend, and protect you.
We began to walk down the middle of the crowd as if on cue. They each bowed their head as we passed. I looked over, and Myah was bowing her head and offering salutations as we passed. She doesn't realize I will be crowned Alpha soon or that she is the future Luna.
When we reached my father, I was so happy to see him. I embraced him in a big hug. My father is a big man, 6'6 and about 280. His voice is deep, and very rarely has to use the alpha tone on anyone. His appearance alone is intimidating. When we let go, I look to see Myah with a big smile on her face.
She outstretches her hand to shake my father's hand, and he shakes his head no. He picked her up into a big bear hug and said, " Welcome Home, daughter."
All the pack cheered as he set her down on the floor.
As I began to give Myah a small tour, I realized she had tears in her eyes.
I pulled her into a big hug. We stayed there in silence for a while. I was enjoying the sparks and tingles. I could stay like this all day. I have waited my whole life for this.
"I feel like I'm genuinely home, Myah said.
