Axel The car halted and I tucked my phone in my pocket. I looked up to glance at the driver through the rearview mirror, sending him a dead look. "Turn the car around and wait for me," I said, my voice detached. Without waiting to hear his next words or sparing a glance at him, I got out of the car, and I was again reminded of the reason I was wearing my least favorite color—black—today with a huge multi-colored vest thrown on it and my hair securely tucked beneath the helmet. Dust permeated the air, obscuring the faces of the engineers who were huddled in any corner they could find on the unfinished enormous building that was situated on acres of land.
