~DIORA~ I was this close to giving in to the thought that Marco might be right about me moving to New York, from Italy, without having any solid plan in place. But then, getting the email seemed to be the thing I needed, so desperately. So, not only do I get to keep my pride intact of not wanting to give in to calling Marco, to fess up that he was right, I now have a job after weeks of sending in an application to different companies. Not just any job, because it isn't every day a girl gets to work as an assistant to the CEO of one of the most sought-after Architectural firms in the world. Stepping out of one's comfort zone means trying things one wouldn't try on a normal day, right? So, for this one night, letting loose shouldn't be a problem. I strutted into the club, stumbling into a sea of sweaty bodies that moved in sync with the music blaring from the speakers that were somewhere in the massive space. The led lights were the highlight of the room, filtering through its confines onto the skin of everyone in the crowd, giving their bodies a colorful blend. I bobbed my head to the music, swaying softly to it as I weaved my way through the crowd. I chuckled and pushed my hair off my face once I was out of the crowd. I slipped onto the seat opposite the bar counter, flashing a grin at the bartender, who shot me a flirty smile in return. "I'll have whisky," He whipped up my order for me in no time, pushing it towards me. I took the tumbler to my lips and was about to take a sip when I felt strong arms slip around my waist, grabbing me. "What the hell?" I queried, infuriated. I tried to wiggle my way out of the strong grip and at some point, I rose to my feet, spinning around to face the person assaulting me. "Do you go around grabbing women you don't know?" My voice was cold and hard but the only reaction it earned from the dark-haired nuisance was a smirk and the roving of his eyes on every inch of my body. It made my stomach churn in disgust. "Don't be such a prude," he snickered. "I saw you calling out to me with your hips through the crowd the other time," He took a step closer and I was backed up against the counter, releasing a shaky breath, "Don't act like you don't want it," He sneered, reaching to trail his finger on my cheek. "Leave me alone or I swear to God, I will scream!" My voice rose a notch but it didn't come out as confident as it ought to. It was a shaky mess. "You___" "GET AWAY FROM HER," The deep, masculine voice that was thick with dominance and a chilling darkness, cut through the asshole's attempt to assault me. I should have been able to release a sigh of relief after the interception of the baritone voice, but I found myself holding my breath. I never thought a voice was capable of evoking so many emotions in me all at once. It wasn't just deep. It was clean and gave off a royal finish that was coated with an unnerving amount of sexiness. I was frozen against the counter. I couldn't bring myself to whisk my head in the direction of the voice. I just stood still, trying to catch my breath. "This is none of your business!" My assailant spat. "Yeah, you are right. It's none of my business and that's why I am asking you to leave now because things are bound to get very ugly when it becomes my business." "Now, scram." Those two words were heavy with a compelling authority which the dark-haired guy couldn't help but heed. He turned to me and scoffed, muttering 'b***h' to my hearing before storming off into the crowd. "Are you alright?" Like a puppet, I swung my head in his direction at a deadly speed and my heart also stopped at that speed before dropping to the pit of my stomach. My mouth ran dry. "Fanculo (f**k,)" I whispered. It was one thing to be self-aware that you are ogling at a man and it was another to be able to caution yourself to stop it. I knew I was practically eye-f*****g this man but I couldn't bring myself to stop. It was as though I was compelled to keep my eyes fixated on him. From where he stood, his height towered over mine and made me feel so small. His flawless skin tone reminded me of the beach sand. The glowing milky brown essence had a sharp contrast to his crisp white shirt but still pulled off a breathtaking difference. The alabaster material was tucked into black pants, lazily buttoned up to his chest, revealing the firm brown surface beneath it. What made him much more sexy was that he wasn't so muscular yet, he had a very attractive physique which made him leanly muscular yet his muscles were firm and taut. His thick, tousled blonde hair looked so messy like he had run his hands through them a thousand times and his eyes… An intimidatingly captivating pair of sea-blue orbs that are so cold yet they had me clamping my teeth down on my lips to suppress making a sound at how they made my skin burn with an intensity that rattled me to the core. He had the kind of eyes that were so empty yet they made me want to haul my manners out the window and go on my knees if he asked. The lashes and thick brows that framed those blue orbs looked too good to be true. They screamed perfection at their peak, not to mention a sharp jawline that looked like they cut through any surface, alongside his prominent cheekbones. Have you ever felt like someone was touching you without actually touching you? Because that was exactly how I felt about this man. When he realised that I wasn't saying anything, he strode forward and his fresh yet seductive scent filtered into my nostrils. It had me wondering how a man could smell this good at this hour of the day… "I asked if you are alright…" His baritone voice trailed off, eliciting a sigh from me. His eyes swept over my frame, so subtly before coming back to rest on my face and then, his lips twitched in a smirk. My cheeks heated in embarrassment. "Uh…I…I…uh…yeah! I am alright," I muttered strings of cuss words inwardly at how embarrassing I sounded. "Thank you for saving me," I whispered, my eyes steadily locked with his. For a moment, we just basked in each other's gazes, without saying a word. He didn't break it off. I did because I couldn't handle the intensity of his eyes and how they dented my skin. They felt like they were going to embed themselves in my soul, leaving an imprint. "Diora," I introduced myself. My voice was low, but still audible, earning me a peek beneath his thick lashes. He didn't respond to what I had said, instead, his cold gaze faltered, a look of fascination creeping into his blue eyes. "Let me buy you a drink," I added, seductively. ________________ Have you ever stared into someone's eyes and felt like you were sinking? Because that was exactly how I felt staring into his eyes. They were like an endless sea of blue, dripping with a chilling coldness that I weirdly found alluring. My feet felt light against the surface of the floor and if this was what drowning felt like, then I didn't want it to stop… Or maybe it was just the fifth glass of whiskey talking. But something about his eyes had this sense of serenity washing over me, and at the same time, they felt like a ball of sizzling flame that burned through the fabric of my dress, embedding themselves into me. They felt so…familiar. "Has anyone ever told you how beautiful your eyes are?" I queried in a whisper, utterly fascinated by them. The breathy chuckle that rolled off his lips brushed the skin of my face, eliciting a sigh from me. He didn't respond immediately. He picked up the nearly empty tumbler on the table while I had my eyes fixed on him thoroughly. I didn't want any movement he made to pass me by. I was that fascinated. His lips twitched in a smirk and he slowly wrapped them around the edge of the glass, taking a sip. I didn't realize I had my mouth ajar until I swallowed, audibly. His gaze had my face flushing so badly that I averted my eyes off him quickly. "Look at me, Diora." He wasn't asking. He was telling me to look at him and boy did he sound so audacious. The dominance in his tone was unabashed. I heed his words like I was compelled, chugging my drink all at once. "I like it when my women are bold enough to look me in the eye." He shifted closer, his breath kissing my face. I gulped, releasing a shaky breath. "Your woman, huh?" I decided to take it up a notch, whispering back at him, equally breathless. "And about my eyes?" He eyed me beneath his lashes and I took my lower lip between my teeth, biting it softly. The action earned me a falter in his icy eyes and I watched them darken. "I have been told countless times." His deep voice enhanced the husky allure in his tone. He was outrightly cocky but I didn't mind. His cologne wouldn't stop filtering into my nostrils, assaulting my senses. "f**k, you smell so good__" I had blurted it out before I knew what was wrong, but it was already too late. He was chuckling in fascination, closing the gap between us. I gasped. With the speed of light, his strong arm was around my waist in no time, tugging me forward and I came crashing against his chest. A swift zap of electricity shot through my spine at the contact of his hand on my back. Heck, it felt like the gruff surface was burning through the thin material of my dress. I let out an involuntary moan and I felt him fist his hands on my waist, a groan escaping his lips. "Be a good girl and stop making that sound," His voice was so gruff and husky. On a normal day, I would probably cringe when I am being told something like that, but his voice was simply a turn-on. At this point, I knew it was the Whiskey pushing me to do the things I wouldn't try if I were clear-headed. Instead of being a good girl like he told me, with my eyes trained on him, I slowly tucked my lower lip between my teeth, biting it, and then I stood on my tiptoes, grasping onto his shirt for support. The blaring music and the crowd in the background seemed to have faded into oblivion and it felt like it was just us now. My lips brushed his jaw before traveling up to his earlobe. I nibbled softly on it and I could hear the turn his breath took, causing his hand to ride below my waist, stopping right on my ass. "I don't want to be a good girl," I whispered into his ear, breathing softly with a naughty smile playing on my lips. "f**k!" He growled, his hands riding below my ass and reaching to grab a fistful of it. I couldn't resist. I moaned into his shirt that I was gripping so hard. "Let's get out of here," His voice had dropped an octave lower, void of breaths. I nodded, breathlessly. "Yes," I had completely thrown my manners out of the window. I was willing to do anything this man asked of me. It screamed whorish behavior but I didn't care. I could do this now and regret it later.
