Skye’s P.O.V. I lay in the darkness, my heart beating far too quickly for someone trying to sleep. The room was quiet, save for the soft rhythm of Lila’s breathing beside me. Her warm presence next to me was both a comfort and a torment. We had kissed again, and every time I closed my eyes, the memory flared up like a wildfire, heating my skin all over again.
