Skye’s P.O.V. I sat on the porch, my sketchbook balanced on my knee as I shaded the last delicate lines of Lila’s face. The cabin was quiet now, the sounds of the others inside muffled by the walls. A cool breeze swept through the trees, rustling the leaves and bringing with it the scent of pine and earth. But all I could focus on was the drawing in front of me—the soft curve of Lila’s lips, the way her hair framed her face like a halo, and the light in her eyes that I could never quite capture.
