The door slammed shut with a loud bang, and Gabriel's facade of kindness and his smile vanished instantly.
A sobbing sound came from behind him. Gabriel stood still for a moment, listening, before he turned around.
He sighed, then walked over to help Ashley up, and wiped her tears with the back of his hand. "I'll get you some clothes," he said, noticing her shoulders exposed to the cool air. He didn't want her to catch a cold.
Gabriel stood up and headed to the walk-in closet.
He wasn't sure which clothes belonged to Ashley, so after a moment of indecision, he chose an outfit he remembered seeing her wear. As he emerged from the closet, he saw Ashley falling.
