“You can… come with me if you like.”
Zoe’s voice echoed inside my head. I cannot believe that she invited me to stay with her family for a week.
I know I am hearing her right because the moment my brain made sense of her voice, all the excitatory neurons I ever own, went jumping up and down.
I was in an adrenaline rush.
“E-excuse me?” I asked like a child whom after taking a long afternoon nap, was finally permitted to play outside. I know that was a bad analogy but I could not think straight right now.
“For a w-week? For a week you mean?” I added, not waiting for her response.
