CHAPTER 3

Oscar closed his eyes and took a deep breath. Running a hand through his curly black hair, he stepped out of bed. He actually hated seeing needy and clingy women on his bed when he woke up but today was different because he had received a devastating news. He walked up towards the desk where he noticed a note the lady who had been sent out a while ago left him. *“If you need another good time”* *just call me daddy, and I wouldn't hesitate!”* The paper read while he glared at the number attached to the paper. He sighed before pushing the paper inside one of the drawers. He was going to be late to his office if he didn't get ready but before that, he had to do a few runs to clear his head from everything. He exhaled deeply, he shook his head, and decided that he headed to the office. Soon he was done and driving himself in one of the most latest and expensive cars he had bought. Oscar knew that he had worked f*****g hard to get to the position he was currently in. Though his father was the sole builder but he was the one who had gotten everything they had this far, “So, has your wife arrived?” The voice of Fred, his Bestfriend filled the entire air. Oscar knew that he had been waiting for him to arrive just to ask him such a worst question. “Why do I have to care if she arrives?” He questioned back harshly. Oscar wondered why everyone cared about his arranged marriage. He wanted them to feel so much anger and be on his side but it was totally the opposite. From the look on Fred’s face. Oscar knew that look, it was exactly the same look Nathan had this morning which was a disappointing look and he hated that look. He watched as his Bestfriend ran a free hand through his well-combed hair as his blue eyes gleamed nicely. “I think this marriage might be best for you my friend, I wouldn't be shocked if you come telling me that you are head over heels for her.” he said with a little chuckle and Oscar was a little curious. “You know that I don't see women as a life partner but one to have a good night stand with and that's all!” Oscar responded rudely as they walked into the huge company. The staff at the company Instantly began to bow their head down in respect when they noticed his arrival. His friend said nothing more but to rub the nape of his neck tiredly. “What if you fall in love?” Fred repeated and Oscar wondered why his friend was persistent about him being happy with a woman. He had never in his life thought of settling but he knew that he needed to enjoy life to the fullest until the day he left the world. Oscar knew that for him to actually fall in love, it would take enough convincing because he loved the life he presently had. They both walked into the elevator before pressing the last floor number. The moment they walked into Oscar's office, he almost flinched when he set his eyes on his father. “I was going to tell you that your father was up here!” Fred said, rushing his words before looking down. “Betrayal!” Oscar scoffed under his breath knowing fully well that Fred knew what he was doing. He walked into the office to notice his father happily swinging himself on his chair playfully. His father was old and in his late seventies but the most feared mafia and a freaking billionaire known in the whole world. He wore a very grey suit while he stared at Oscar from a distance without a word leaving his mouth. He soon placed a cigarette in his mouth before liting it to life. He soon gave me a small smile before puffing out his first smoke, Oscar knew that even if his father acted harsh and brutal. He was still a good and exemplary person. “Son?” he called as his dark eyes met my green eyes. He puffed another smoke from the cigarette in his grip before chuckling slightly. “Father, with due respect. I don’t think I want to get married to that girl!” Oscar stated clearly but by the smirk on his father's face, he knew that his complaints were clearly abortive and meaningless. “I don’t think I care about your thoughts son, I bore you into this world and I think my words should be the final say. Get ready to welcome your bride!” His father's husky voice came, sending shivers down his spine. “Father, but you know exactly how I feel about all of this!” he said with so much annoyance and bitterness. “You don't have to be in love, just get me my f*****g company!” his father growled loudly. “You should shut up and get me the f**k–g company, stop complaining and making irrelevant noise. Put your s**t together and get me my company, I didn't raise a weak person as my son but you could make things easier for me by handing everything to Nathan.” his father threatened and he knew that his father didn't make empty threats. “But I don't want any of this!” he insisted and that had made his father very angry. “If you don't want to marry the girl, Nathan can take everything. Fred, can you put Nathan on..,” his father was going to threaten further but he was quick to interrupt. “I accept!” Oscar's voice came as a proud smile became visible on his father’s wrinkled face. He got up from the chair he had been sitting in before trudging toward where his son stood to leave him a pat on his shoulder. “You are indeed my son, you know everything I do, I do it for you. If we get this company, it'll mean a lot for this family. You're my son. When I die, everything I have will be passed on to you. Don't you want wealth and power? It's just a bloody marriage, when the deal is sealed. You can treat her whatever way you want.” his father said before leaving. The moment his father was gone, he slowly took a seat feeling drained. He needed something to clear his head. Not that he smoked frequently but staring at the pack of cigarettes his father had left behind was very tempting. He picked one before lighting it to life. He puffed the first smoke out while trying to calm himself and to try to comprehend everything which had just transpired a few minutes ago. “I honestly had no idea that he was going to be around!” Fred said, still standing at the same position. “You did nothing bro!” Oscar told him, trying to brush everything away. He knew this was his fate and he needed to face it.
