"What do we do?" Sebastian asked. "You have to run" Freya told him. "What about you?" he said, grabbing Freya's hands. "I'll let them take me... or kill me if they so wish" she told him as she put her hand on his cheek. "As long as you can live" she said as she stared into his blue eyes. "Freya, that isn't fair to you," he said. "You barely managed to escape him before, whether he kills you now or later, you will die" Sebastian told her. "I beg of you Sebastian, leave before they burn this place to the ground" Freya said. "Leave while you are still able" she added. Suddenly fire engulfed the house and everything became slow, as they just stared into each other's eyes. This was how that evil man intended to get rid of her once and for all. So that she could no longer be a risk. So he wouldn't have to fear she would take what he felt was his. "Ki otrugera ezruyu" Freya said as she hugged Sebastian. She knew she couldn't chase him away, after all he always thought of himself as her hero. The man who was a former knight of the royal family, who helped her to escape her tyrant of a brother in the middle of the knight, after her father was killed. Freya had never given up her rightful inheritance. After all she was the oldest even if they were twins, and her father had named her his heir. "Jeotralainra... Sebastian, ki hurasum rutu ezruyu... ezruyu nituinho otralagera" (Please... Sebastian, I beg of you... you must leave) she begged him. "Ki nakiott qwaragerabu otralagera" (I will never leave you) he replied. "You will die if you dont" she said "If I leave now I have no doubt they will use their dragons to burn me alive anyway" he told her. Suddenly Sebastian began to cough. "It seems you truly do have the blood of a dragon coursing through your veins" he said as he fell to his knees. "Sebastian" Freya said, almost catching him and holding him in her arms. Tears formed in her eyes. "I'm glad," he said with a smile. "Sebastian please I can still get you out of here" she told him. He shook his head. "It was you who told me that only the flame which has taken a life can hatch a dragon's egg," Sebastian said. "If what you said is true then by me dying the eggs will hatch" he said as he coughed again. "Use these eggs you see as special and raise the dragons inside them" he continued. "Take back the throne that was yours to sit," he added. "And what if no dragons come from these eggs?" She asked him. Sebastian held up his hand and caressed her face. "Inyubugekigera" (Survive) he said as his eyes suddenly closed. His hand fell and he let out one last deep breath as the fire that once surrounded him engulfed his body. Tears began to fall from Freya's eyes as she laid his body down and stood up. What was all this for? She asked herself. What did she do, that was so bad that the love of her life was taken from her and turned to ash in the blink of an eye. Suddenly Freya began to hyperventilate as she continued to cry. She fell to her knees as she held her chest. "AHHHHHHH" she screamed. The fire that touched her did not burn her, as suddenly she heard a sound she had only heard once before. Freya turned to see 2 baby dragons staring at her. One was an emerald mixed with blue, while the other was a silver mixed with gold. "Dragons" Freya said as she stared at them in amazement, they had actually hatched. But was their life really worth Sebastians? The 2 small baby dragons walked over to her, as the fire continued to burn. As Freya stood up the dragons suddenly flew up into the air and landed on her shoulders. "We have to get out of here," Freya said. She walked to what was once a hallway and down to her room. Freya picked up the floorboard revealing a hole. She jumped down into the hole and placed the floor bored back where it was. Sebastian knew of this path yet he still chose to die. And that broke her heart. Freya slowly and carefully moved down the tunnel. She knew that if she was too loud the dragons above ground may hear her. The tunnel was long, spanning for miles. Freya and Sebastian had it prepared for a day just like today, but deep down Freya still didn't understand why he chose death. She didn't understand why he chose to sacrifice himself to give her the dragons that now sat on her shoulder. Suddenly the dragons flew off her shoulder and down the tunnel. "Wait!" Freya whispered as she began to run down the tunnel following them. Suddenly she saw a bright light, but didn't stop as she continued to run towards it. When she reached she stopped. She was now on the cliff, far from her home. The sun was rising, had it already been a whole night. As she approached the edge of the cliff she just stood staring at the sunrise. Sebastian loved beautiful sights like this, and now he would never see another one again. Freya took in a deep breath. Suddenly the dragons landed on her shoulder again, the silver, gold colored one on the left, and the emerald blue one on the right. "Thalor, and Valkyra," she said suddenly. "He would have liked that," she said to herself. Anger and sadness began to fill her as she realized she would never see Sebastian again. She would never hold him, never love him... he was forever gone and there was nothing she could do about that. Except maybe one thing. Revenge... the way Freya saw it, was obvious. He took her love from her... in return she will take his throne. TO BE CONTINUED
