Chapter 5The change in Jack was hard to see, but once Mason saw that softness manifest after their talk in the truck, it was all he noticed. As he followed Jack into his house, the lightness of the space pulling him in, he wondered. Yes, Jack was very handsome in a rugged way. That softness added an element of the otherworldly to the man. Showed Jack to be so much more. Mason kept his eyes glued to Jack as he puttered about the kitchen, pulling things out of drawers and down off the bundles strung to the rafters.
