Marie’s P.O.V.

I was so overwhelmed. I didn’t expect that my parents would throw a huge party for me. It was a special day for me and they made this day memorable for me. All the pack members enjoyed the party while dancing, screaming, and enjoying the food. Everyone was happy like always. It’s a custom that every werewolf has to take his first run with the alpha of the pack and then the rest of the pack follows them. It helps the new wolf to form a bond with the pack.

Mom brought a beautiful evening gown in an emerald green color that beautifully enhanced my skin. I had a curvy figure and the dress hung up all my features perfectly. The dress that I needed to wear later before the shift was already taken care of by my mom. She was the best mom. She knew me very well.

After the party, I changed into shift through dress and went downstairs. Mom and dad were waiting for me there.

“Ready, honey?” my dad asked me and I smiled. I didn’t know why but I was feeling a little feverish. My heart was racing right now and I felt so hot in spite of the fact that the fabric of the cloth that I was wearing right now was so light. Still, I felt my body on fire.

“What’s wrong, baby?” my mom asked me worriedly coming near me. I tried to say something but felt a sharp pain in my body that I fell down on the floor instantly and curled up. “O My Goddess, Marie… what’s wrong with you?” dad instantly pulled me in his embrace and shouted again, “She was burning”.

“What????”, my mother panicked instantly. I was breathing heavily now. “She is phasing early”, my father said while picking me up in bridal style. “Let’s go”, he almost ran towards the forest line. “Dad”, I screamed again when another wave hit me. It was really worse. I just wanted this pain to go away as soon as possible.

He used his wolf speed to reach the spot as soon as possible. His wolf, Finn was also protective like him. I looked at my father’s eyes and they were black now. Finn had taken the control of the human body. I felt my whole body was on fire. He gently put me down on the ground and secured me in his embrace.

“It’s early”, I heard Alpha Christian’s voice. My vision was blurred due to the tears that were continuously coming out of my eyes. “Yes…. She is in a lot of pain and her body was burning”, I heard my father telling him everything. Why he was not holding me now? He was my father and he could use our bond to ease my pain. Why he was not helping me?

“It’s not good”, I felt someone’s hand on my forehead. I screamed again due to the sudden pain that I felt there as if someone had put a burning rod there. The person instantly removed his hand and I breathed hard in relief. I was still breathing heavily. My whole body was aching so badly as if a heavily loaded train had hit me hard.

Another wave of pain hit me harder this time. I screamed aloud and soon my head started spinning furiously and soon my world started surrounded by darkness. I let the pain overcome me.

I tried to open my eyes but my eyelids were too heavy to open. I was not able to move a single muscle of my body. It was hurting like a crazy b***h. I groaned in pain loudly. I screamed in pain again when I tried to move my hand a little so that I could hold my head that was hurting badly.

“Hey… hey… Marie….”, I heard my mom’s voice that was filled with worry. I tried to open my eyes but still, my lids were heavy. “M….o…m”, I called her in a hoarse voice. My throat was hurting so badly. I was so thirsty.

“Here…. Drink some water”, she put something on my lips and I drank greedily. I felt that I was thirsty for age. “Easy…. Baby.. you will choke”, she tried to comfort me but I totally ignored her warning. I wanted the whole ocean for me.

After finishing the glass of water, I tried to open my eyes again but my head hurt badly. “Don’t exhaust yourself, baby…. You woke up after two days”, she caressed my hair gently. I gasped in surprise. Two days?????? This was a really long period.

I had no memory of me being phased. What happened to me? I tried to connect myself with my wolf but I didn’t feel anything. I panicked instantly. Why couldn’t I feel my wolf?

“M…o…m… wh…a…t h..a..p..p..e..n.ed”, my voice was still hoarse and I felt my throat hurting again. “Everything will be okay, baby”, she was still caressing my hair gently. I felt some wetness in her voice. It made me more worried about what happened to me.

“I…. I… can….can’t”, I tried to ask her again but she cut me off instantly. “You need to take a rest, baby. Don’t stress yourself”, why was she not telling me what happened to me?

“M….o…m”, I almost shouted this time, and then I heard her crying. “What happened?” I heard my father barged into the room. His voice was filled with worry and concern. This time I tried hard to open my eyes. I felt a sharp pain in my head but I didn’t stop trying.

“Hey… Marie… easy baby… you will hurt yourself more”, my dad also tried to comfort me but their voices betraying them. I slowly opened my eyes but nothing was clear. I blinked so many times to get the clear vision but my vision was still blurred.

I felt a wet cold cloth on my eyes and I closed my eyes again. It was soothing and very comforting. My mom was still caressing my hair and she was crying bitterly.

I decided not to say anything and be quiet for a while. I was sure that I didn’t get my wolf otherwise I would be healed by now. Tears started building up in my eyes but I backed them off. It was not the time to have an assumption. Let me tell them what happened to me.

After I didn’t know how much time, when I felt better…. I told mom that I was hungry. Dad instantly went down and mom took me to the washroom. She prepared a hot bath for me. She helped me taking my bath and to be honest, as soon as the hot water touched my body, all my aching nerves calmed down instantly.

“I am going to take out your clothes. Stay inside the tub for a while. It will help you, honey”, she was while stroking my hair. She was sad and worried. I smiled and said, “I will be okay, mom…. Don’t worry”. She patted my head a little and then went out of the washroom.

I sighed and leaned my head down on the edge of the bathtub. So…. My wolf didn’t surface at the time and now I am a wolf-less werewolf. I wanted to cry on my pathetic self. A wolf-less werewolf is like a human with no strength and no heightened senses. They are as fragile and timid as a human. I was one of the best warriors of the pack and everyone thought that my wolf would be stronger. I went through the pain but I am wolfless.

I had heard that it was very rare among werewolves that anyone is wolf-less. The pack doesn’t treat them well as they were useless to the pack. They were bullied and treated as slaves to the pack. I was scared for myself. I couldn’t think of myself as the pack slave. Tears started building up in my eyes and I let them flow this time.

“It’s all Christian’s fault. He could call him to ease her pain at that time”, I opened my eyes when I heard my mom’s voice. She was again crying but…… something was strange here… Mom was not in my room. I could hear dad also and if I was not wrong, he was in the kitchen. It meant that I could hear them clearly though I was very far from them right now.

No… no… it couldn’t be possible. I assumed that my room’s door was also opened and that was why I was able to hear them. I closed my eyes and concentrated on my hearing to check my suspicion. I was shocked when I heard the chirping of birds and the chattering of people on the street. It couldn’t be possible. The street was a little far from our place. After getting the wolf, the hearing power of a werewolf increase but not to this extent.

I decided not to tell anything to anyone. “We have to protect her at any cost, honey and you know this”, it was my dad and I was really confused now. Something was fishy here.
