Chapter 9.5

"Don't you have the antichrist to babysit," Azure deadpanned, as he eyed Lucius, who had been running all over the apartment, staring at whatever caught his eye? I rolled my eyes at Azure and got some money off of him, well, he has practically shoved the money in my hand and every time I slammed it down on the table, the money would just make its way back into my pocket and I had given up at this point. So I held Lucius's hand and the two of us went to a store. "What is this place?" he said as he looked around in awe. "A shop. Do you not have those in Hell?" "I don't know I'm not allowed to leave the castle." Wait, what? Really? He wasn't allowed to leave the castle? Was Lucifer that much of a d**k that he wouldn't let Lucius leave? He really kept him locked away. The f**k. The f**k. "Well, it is a castle," I said. "It's so big!" he yelled, as he moved his arms as back as they could go. "But it's empty and I get so bored because dad doesn't play with me. Ira is evil, he only likes Yua. London is always away, Orion is never away from his puppy, basically, no one plays with me." "What can you eat?" I asked him and he looked at me and blinked. "I don't know, I just eat whatever is on my plate." Well, at least he wasn't a picky eater. Honestly, for the Antichrist, he was so well behaved. Well, he was not exactly what you would expect when someone mentioned the Antichrist. I'd be honest, I think he was just lonely, like really, really lonely. "Get whatever you want. It's Azure's money anyway." We spent about an hour or so just in the store and Lucius got so many things, but he was so excited about it all that I couldn't refuse. Some chocolates he'd never heard of, as well as some felt tips and a colouring book, which he had been oddly excited about. Arriving home, we heard the muffled yells, Lucius ran into the house and I barely managed to catch the balloon he had been holding. I hauled the bags inside and to my surprise, Azure and Lust had a male tied to a chair in the same gold handcuffs. "So which one is this?" I asked as I eyed him. He eyed me and I scowled at him, glaring. “Envy!” Lucius yelled. He ran to Envy, hugging him.  “Lucius? Why is Lucius on the surface? Oh my, is it his time to shine? He's hot. Look at those eyes, who is he?" he said and I frowned a little. "This is Envy. We found him in a, believe it or not, a bookstore." "Okay, but why is Lucius here and who is the really hot boy?" Envy said. "That's a train wreck you don't even want to start," Azure said and Lust snorted. And a few seconds later, Azure snorted. Were these fuckers talking to one another via their lines? d***s. “Oh! So this is Lucifer’s thing?” Envy eyed me and I felt pretty naked. I wouldn’t lie. "No," I deadpanned. "Lucifer and I have no ‘thing’. Especially when I’m not allowed to know what it is.” “Oh, so he’s the boy Lucifer-” “Yes,” Azure said. "Sure, anyway, do you know where Wrath is?" Lust said, waving his arms around and then turning around and facing Envy. "You're still trying to find him?" Envy looked amused as he raised an eyebrow. "I don't need your f*****g opinion. Do you know where he is or not?" Lust said through clenched teeth. "No." "Are you f*****g lying?" "Yes," Envy replied, he had a smug smile on his face. "Wait, really?" "No." "No, you're lying or not, do you know where he is?" Lust groaned as he rubbed his head. "No. I'm lying. I don't know where he is and even if I did, Lust, I wouldn't tell you." "Why?" "Because he knows where you are. We all did. I was just stupid enough to get caught. We all know you're with the knights, so are Pride and Sloth, but he hasn't come to you, Lust." Lust quietened down and ended up looking at his shoes quickly. I saw him blink really quickly a few times before he cleared his throat and looked up. "I don't care." "Lust." "I don't need pity," he hissed. "Lust, let him go." "I have." "Lust." "No." "Lust." "No. I don't want to talk about it." "Lust, he killed you!" Envy hissed. Wait, what? Killed him emotionally or actually kill him? "Shut the f**k up." "Lust," Azure said. "Envy, stop it." Envy ignored him. "He knows you're here and he hasn't come. He's avoiding you, it's obvious, and you're still here trying to find him with all you've got, but he couldn't care less about you!" "Stop it," Lust whispered. I looked down at Lucius, who looked up at me. He shrugged and then went back to looking up at his brothers again. "I mean, you must know by now, that he hates you. He hates you. He killed you. Twice. Not even once, but twice. And you're stupid enough to still love him. To still look for him." Lust flinched. "I did run into him," Envy said, and I eyed him. Lust's eyes snapped in his direction. "I ran into Wrath. He said how he was disappointed that Pride had been caught, he knew Sloth just went to the knights. And I mentioned you and you know what he said? 'who cares about him, I hate him.’" Lust made a noise, he had tears streaming down his face, even while crying, he looked ridiculously hot. He wiped them away, glaring at Envy. But, he didn't hesitate when he walked over to Envy, who looked very smug and punched him straight in the face. "Lust, he's lying," I lied. Ah, I felt bad for him and lied before I could stop myself. Lust snapped his head towards me and his eyes flashed pink. Woah, so did all demons have nice eyes or was that just everyone surrounded by me? "Lust, calm down," Azure said, slowly. Fuck. "Lust, he's lying, he didn't meet Wrath. He's lying, I don't know how I know he's lying, but he is. He didn't meet Wrath." "No, but he's right," Lust said. He looked like you just told him someone killed his cat. Azure glared at Envy. "This is why Lucifer doesn't f*****g love you." "Oh, that piece of s**t doesn't love any of us. It's why we all have daddy issues." "I'm done with both of you," Azure deadpanned. I don't know what he did, but Lust fell onto the floor and Envy just knelt forward, but he was tied down and was being held back by those bonds. "What did you just do?" I said, finally finding my voice to speak. "I put them to sleep." "Yeah, I can see that. How?" "I just slowed their heartbeats down," he said. "Now, you need to sleep and just stay here. I need to put Lust in a bed so he can rest comfortably and Envy can just rot there, the f*****g asshole." "Did Wrath really kill Lust, twice?" "I think you should ask Lust to tell you, not me," Azure said, and he looked down at a sleeping Lust and gave him a small smile. He then picked him up easily and sighed as he walked away. "Okay, so, Antichrist, do you sleep?" "Yes." "Good! Let's do that and tomorrow you get to go to school! Yay!" ~*~ Lust had decided to walk Lucius and me to school, and I had noticed how every single person had been staring at him. I mean, every single one. And on top of that, he looked unfazed. However, it was just the three of us, so I took it as my opportunity to ask him about yesterday. "What was Envy talking about yesterday?" "Wrath killed me, twice," Lust said, as he cleared his throat a little. I thought he would have played it off and it would have taken some prying to get it out of him. "I thought you couldn't die." "No, we can die. I guess we don't stay dead. But yeah, he killed me twice. I still don't know why he did it, either time. He never told me, things would be good and then something would happen, he would kill me and then avoid me and then something would happen and he'd be good to me and that's how it's been." "Then, why are you trying to find him so badly? All you've wanted since we found you is to find Wrath." "Because," he whispered. "Because I love him?" "Wait, what?" "Yeah," he said, he had tears in his eyes and his voice broke a little. "I'm in love with him and he's Wrath and he uses that to his advantage a lot. He knows I love him that I would do anything for him, so he uses it and me, I guess." He shrugged a little. "That's not a healthy relationship." "He's killed me twice, of course, it's not." "Then, why are you trying to find him? Leave him, let him rot, you should move on." "I don't want to." "Why?" "Because, yeah, the lows with him are so low, but, he can be the sweetest, kindest person out of all of us, especially to me." "But he's not that person all the time." "No, I guess he isn't." "What are you going to do when you find him?" "Apologies," he replied, without missing a beat. "For?" Why would he apologise? From what he had said, he had done nothing wrong. "Whatever made him run away? I tried to find him when we got out. He talked to Sloth and she won't tell me what he said, honour among sins and all." "Oh." "Yeah, I just want to find him." He didn't say anything about it after and I decided to keep my mouth shut too. But still, as we got closer to the high school, everyone was eyeing Lust and the jocks looked like they were ready to jump him any second. "You should leave now, Lust, "I said, stopping and pushing him in the direction we had just been in. "What, no," he whined. "I don't like Envy." "Then go to Hell. You're not coming with us anymore." I looked around and then I heard him laugh a little. I looked at him and he grinned. "Aw, that's cute. You're worried about my well-being. Don't worry, I could take on everyone at this school and still come out on top. I can look after myself." "I know you can, Lust. But go away." "Fine, fine. Bye Lucius, have a nice time!" "Bye, Lust!" Lucius said as he waved at Lust, who had begun walking away. It was easy bringing Lucius to school. No one said anything. I think they were too scared too. I bought a tiny bag full of things that would keep him entertained the entire day. The only reason I was there was that he wanted to see a human f*****g school. Right now, we were in religious studies. "And Lucifer is the reason we do bad things. He's portrayed as having horns, red skin and a tail." "My dad does have a tail, but it's longer and he kills demons with it," Lucius said, and all eyes were on him. My eyes widened and I looked at him and he just laughed a little. Wait, huh? How did you kill someone with a tail? "Lucius, no!" "He does, Xavier! He does!" "Okay! But you don't say that here." All eyes were still on us and I glared. "Continue with the class." The teacher cleared his throat. "Like I was saying, he has a tail. He's a fallen Angel, God cast him away." "Well, that's not true, he didn't cast me away. I rebelled." I jumped from my seat and I turned around trying to find where the voice was coming from. I looked out the window and, instead of my own reflection, I saw Lucifer. Fuck. "I see you're studying up on me, but if you want to know about me that desperately, come back down you can ask me whatever you want." "f**k off," I hissed. "I want you back in hell, Xavier. With Lucius. And bring Envy. The rotten child is being a d**k again." "No. f**k you." "You wouldn't want anything to happen to Mercy, would you?" "I f*****g dare you," I hissed. "You touch Mercy and I'm never stepping foot in Hell ever again." "What?" Jeremy said, he was sad next to me and I glared at him. He winced a little and faced forward. "You're bluffing," he said, and I glared at the reflection. "Try me, Lucifer. f*****g try me." "Xavier, look!" I looked down at Lucius, he had been colouring away and, oh. I had a tattoo of a rose on my hand, just the outline, and he had coloured it all in. "It's nice, thanks, Lucius." "Come back to Hell, Xavier." "Why does daddy want you in Hell so much?" "'Cause he's a f*****g d**k," I grumbled. "Rude," he said, and I glared at him. "f**k off," I deadpanned. "Who are you talking to?" Jeremy asked. "Lucifer. Now shut the f**k up." "Are we going back to hell?" Lucius asked, rather loudly. Again, all eyes were on us and I sighed as I ran a hand down my face. Of course, he would have to say questionable things so loudly. I looked around this class, at Lucifer, this f*****g boring class, and I nodded. "Yeah." I looked at the window and he looked so smug, I wanted to strangle him. "Send a knight. We're coming." "Do we have to?" Lucius whined. "Yes, I'm sorry, kid, we can come back to the surface again later," I said. "Really?!" "No," Lucifer said. "Yeah!" I said and I glared at Lucifer. "Send a Knight." "No, I'm sending Orion. He'll probably have his puppy with him though," And he wasn't wrong, Orion had appeared at the back of the class and Puppy was right behind him. Why at the back of the class though? Why couldn't they just appear outside in the hallway or even better outside the school? Why in my class in front of everyone? See, when they came in, it was quiet, until it wasn’t.  “Oh, shut up!” I snapped. Everyone froze. "Orion! Puppy!" Lucius yelled when he saw him. He got up from his seat and ran over to them. Puppy picked him up, smiling. "Hey, kid," Orion said. "Come on, Xavier. Lucifer wants you in hell. What the f**k did you do to even be caught by him?" "What the f**k, you were serious?!" Jeremy whispered and I stared at him. "Not now, Jeremy." I stood up and walked over to him. "I don't know, but I swear I know the fucker." "That's impossible." "Yes, I know. I've had the same conversation with Azure. Oh, yes," I said, as I looked up at the teacher. "Mercy, Church, Mint and I, we're probably not going to be in class for the next couple of days." "Weeks," Orion said. "No, actually Months. Wait, just time, time." "Time," I repeated. Everyone was confused. "For what reason?" he asked after he cleared his throat a little. "We are going to be in hell." "Hell?" Jeremy said. "Yes, Jeremy, Hell. Keep up here." "But, leave the child. Why are you taking the boy?" he said, as he looked down at Lucius, who was now holding my hand and just swinging it around. He seemed highly entertained by this. "He's the Antichrist." "Bye!" Lucius said, as he waved his tiny hands and poof, we were in hell. Envy was there, he was already talking to Sloth. Beside him was Lucifer, who stormed over when we came out of the portal. “I didn’t think you’d actually leave. You have some balls on you, Xavier,” he said. He put his hand on the back of my neck. I was about to smack his hand away when he gently dragged his nails across my skin. Oh, s**t, that felt nice.  “Come on,” he said. I followed him and I thought we were going back to his office, but no, we arrived at his bedroom. “You sleep?” I asked stupidly and he nodded as he went to his wardrobe. He spent a few minutes in there and came out in black silk pyjamas. I may have held a stoic face but on the inside, I was in the middle of laughing and crying. “Of course, I sleep, my love,” he said. He used a different tone and I got a weird sense of de Ja Vu.  “Tell me how you know me,” I said. He turned to look at me, eyebrows raised. He got into his huge bed, he leaned against the backrest. “I don’t know what you’re talking about,” he replied, and I glared at him. “Yes, you do. I talked about it with the others and they knew. They said that I was the boy. What boy was I? They also said you did something and that’s why they can’t tell me. So you tell me.” “Oh, you’re sneaky, my love.” “Stop calling me my love,” “But you are my love.” “How did those knights all those years ago stay for 12 rebirths?” I asked and his eyes narrowed. Yes, I had been speaking to Mint and Church, who both seemed to be crushing on a knight, which sucked for them. I wouldn’t lie. “How do you know that?” “You tell me how I know you and I'll tell you what I know about those knights.” He thought about it and then shrugged. “Whatever.” “So, you don’t want to know?” I said. “No, I’m not that curious. Now, humans sleep, and on the surface, it’s night, so you should get some sleep.” “Where’s my room?” I said. I was tired and I would continue my interrogation with him tomorrow. “Here. you’re staying with me.” “You live in a castle. I’m sure there’s a different room for me,” I said. “There are. But you’re staying with me.” “Why?” “No reason in particular. If it makes you feel safe, you can put a pillow in between us.” “I’ll find a different room.” “Don’t test my patience, Xavier. Get to bed now.” I stared at him and turned towards the door that wasn’t f*****g opening. I tried pulling for a few more minutes and when it didn’t open, Lucifer laughed. “Now, Xavier.” I glared at him as I took my socks, shoes and jacket off. “You’re not going to be sleeping in jeans are you?” he asked. I looked up at him and blinked. Well, I didn’t exactly bring a suitcase. “Go into my closet. Wear whatever pyjamas you want. I won’t peak.” I glared at him once again as I gave him the finger and went inside. There were so many clothes, in so many colours and materials. I went in some maroon silk pyjamas because I had never worn silk before and wow. I got into bed and made a wall of pillows. “You stay on that side, I stay on this side.”  He nodded as the lights dimmed and I stared at the ceiling. Oh, this was too f*****g much. I wanted to f*****g kill Mercy. We never should have f*****g introduced ourselves. ~*~
