Chapter 9

Xavier's pov "I know you," I hissed at him. He seemed amused, like the very thought of me knowing him was the funniest thing he had heard. “I've seen you before. Why do I know you?" "I don't know what you're talking about," Lucifer said, as he took a seat at his desk. We were in, I think, a study? Office? Whatever it was, he was sitting at the black desk, with glasses on. The devil f*****g wore glasses. It was probably for show, I mean, really, I’m sure the devil had f*****g 20/20 vision. "Take a seat, make yourself comfortable. Don't disturb me." So I did, on a leather couch. I didn't even get phone reception here, which was terrible, so I played some games, and by some, I meant a lot. I don't know how long time passed and then he stood up and walked to the door. I looked up at him and he sighed. "Come on." I groaned as I stood up and stomped after him. He kept walking and walking, and so many guards kept bowing. I got stopped a few times too and then Lucifer would glare at them and they would cower away. It was funny. "Dad!" A child ran up to Lucifer, he stopped to pick him up. I didn't see he had stopped so I ended up crashing into him. I groaned as I rubbed my nose. "You have a kid?" I said a little surprised, looking at the child in his arms. "I have 19." "No, I mean like an actual kid." "Did you not hear me just say I have 19?" he asked, as he turned around to look at me. I didn't look at him, I looked at the child he was holding. He had long red hair with silver eyes, his skin was a light shade of blue. Oh, Feather had blue skin too, although they were different shades. Was he fully related to Feather? I hoped not. Feather was a d**k. "No," I said, tearing my eyes away from the child. I looked up at Lucifer. "I meant a kid. All your other kids are adults." "Yes, I am aware. This is Lucius, the youngest." "Hi!" The kid said and I just nodded. Lucifer put the child down and patted his head awkwardly. "Go find your siblings. Sloth, Pride, Yua, Feather, Cedar, Ocean and Nether are all here. Your nephew is here too!" Lucius looked a little annoyed. "No. I want to stay with you." "Well, you can't. I’m busy, leave me alone. Go annoy Ira." Then Lucifer just walked away, leaving the kid. I stared at his retreating figure and the child who had tears in his eyes. I watched because maybe Lucifer would turn around and pay attention to his child, but no. He kept walking away. I knew what it was like to be ignored, to want the attention of your parents and they just didn’t want to give it. Well, it looks like I was playing with a kid today. I threw on a smile and crouched down so I was face to face with the kid. "Do you want to play with me?" He smiled and nodded repeatedly. I gave him my hand, and he grabbed it. He led me in the opposite direction of his father and I was 100% okay with that. I wanted to explore hell. "Xavier!" Lucifer yelled. Oh, had he finally noticed I wasn't beside him? "f**k you!" I yelled back without even turning to look at him. I also gave him my middle finger, if he was looking at me. "Are you human?" The child asked. "Yes, I am. I'm Xavier." "I'm Lucius. Can we play for a long time? No one ever plays with me. Everyone here is so much bigger than me. They get bored really quickly." "Yes, we can play for a long time," I said and he smiled as he laughed and ran forward. He waited for me and he led me to what I assumed was his room. "Master Lucius! This is where you are! Master, get away from the stranger. Guards! Guards!" A male had yelled. He had been waiting inside the room. Fuckkkkkkkkkkkkkkkk. Some guards ran in, they all had guns. Of course, of course, in hell. There were f*****g guns. And they all pointed at me. "So, I can explain." "How is a human in Hell?" the demon asked, the one that had been waiting inside Lucius's room. He had taken hold of Lucius. Well, at least he was protecting Lucius even though I wasn't a f*****g threat. "Well. You see when humans die. If they've been naughty-" "You're alive." "I've been dead inside since I was a kid if that helps. Also, I did die. But that was for like 2-3 minutes. I did get resuscitated." "You have 5 seconds before we kill you," the main demon said. He was holding a very big gun and guns f*****g killed. I wasn't about to die in hell. "Okay, wait, don't do that." "5." "I'm here with the knights?" I said. "4." Oh, no wrong answer. "I'm the friend of Lucifer's grandchild?" "3." What more did they want?! "I know Lucifer?" "2." Oh, f**k. "This is all a sticky situation and this looks bad, but if you could get any of the knights I'm sure they'd clear this all up." "1." "f**k me." I closed my eyes tightly, flinching a little. I mean, I heard the guns go off. They all went off. But they didn't hit me? I opened my eyes and patted myself. I was alive. Wait, how was I alive? I turned to look at the door and the devil himself was standing there. f*****g asshole. His eyes were glowing red, and I hated to admit it, but he looked hot. He looked stupidly hot. The devil was hot. Fuck. He looked completely relaxed but all the bullets were still in the air. He simply blinked and all of them fell to the ground in a clatter. "No one touches the humans. Ever," he said. "Especially not this one." "Great to see I have priority over your grandchild," I deadpanned. "Of course, my love," he simply said. His love? Since when was I his love? "Yes. We apologise, my lord." I snickered a little. My lord. I snickered again. "Leave." I swear I have never seen demons run faster in my life. Well, I had never seen actual demons until like 6 hours ago. "Why were there so many guards with guns pointed at you?" he asked, looking at me. I didn't reply, he could bite me. Fuck. He had done that thing again and I hissed a little, but I stood still. A few more seconds of intense eye contact because I would not be that b***h, assert dominance and all that, but I felt my knees buckle and I hit the ground. "Stop whatever the f**k it is you're doing. It hurts, you asshole," I hissed through clenched teeth. I heard the male gasp a little. "How dare you-" he had been stopped midsentence, I think Lucifer had taken his voice as Cedar could do. I didn't look up at Lucifer, I focused on my hands which were clenched in front of me. I could feel my nails digging into my skin, but that pain was distracting me from whatever Lucifer was doing. He walked over and he still hadn't stopped. He crouched in front of me, using his finger, he pressed it under my chin and even though I was using my entire strength to avoid looking at him, he made me look. "Tell me." "That person got scared when I walked in with Lucius. He was scared for his safety. So he called in the guards." "Now, that wasn't so hard was it?" No, but I felt like a snitch and you know what they said, snitches were bitches that ended up with stitches. He stopped the painful thing and I relaxed. Lucius ran over to me, standing in front of me and grabbing my face with his small hands. "Are you okay?! Can we still play?!" I laughed a little. "I'm fine. Don't worry." I heard a mangled noise, a snap and a dull thud. Turning around, I saw the male on the floor, his neck at an angle it should not have been at. I grabbed Lucius, hiding his face in my chest. He didn't need to see that. I didn't know if he'd ever seen a dead body. But he wouldn't be seeing one now. "What the f**k did you do that for?!" I screamed at him. "He was scared for Lucius. Why did you kill him?!" "I've made it clear. No one is touching you." "He didn't touch me, you d**k!" "He could have killed you," he said with ease. He was okay with that. He didn't flinch, didn't care. He seemed so nonchalant about the fact that he had just murdered someone. Right, of course, this was the devil. The devil. "Take me back," I deadpanned. "What?" he said, he looked up from the corpse and then back down at me again. I still hadn't gotten up, I didn't trust my knees to hold my weight. "Take me back up to the surface. And I'll take the kid, too." I mean, I did say I would play with him. And Lucifer and the others didn't care and I'm pretty sure Mercy didn't want to leave and this way I wouldn't be alone either.  Killing two birds with one stone. "Really? I get to go to the surface? With you, Xavier?! Really?!" "Yeah," I said, smiling at him. I looked up at Lucifer and I glared at him. "Either you take me or I'm getting someone else too." "They wouldn't dare." Why was he so confident? I'd smother him. "Have you ever met Feather? He will do it if I said you said no. He has major daddy issues. You really f****d him up." "No." "Is that your final answer? Azure and Lust are there. I'm sure they will be fine with me being there." He looked at me and then at Lucius. "I'm not having you go to the surface." "Bye." I grabbed Lucius's hand and I walked away, but the moment I was out of his sight. I picked Lucius up and I began to run. "Lucius, where is Feather's room?" Lucius actually gave really good instructions and I was outside Feather's room in no time. I walked in and he was in the middle of changing, he really was blue everywhere. And I meant everywhere. He rolled his eyes as he slipped on his underwear. "What do you want, Xavier? Why are you with Lucius and not Lucifer?" "Take us to the surface," I deadpanned. "What?" "You heard me," I said and he glared at me. "What did Lucifer say to this plan?" "He's being a bitch." Feather looked like he was about to argue with me but decided against it. "Sure, give me a minute." "Do I really get to go to the surface?" Lucius asked as he jumped up and down and I nodded. "Yeah!" "Can you take me to a school?" And, I rolled my eyes at that. "You get to go to the surface and the first place you want to go to is a school?" "Yeah! I want to be around humans. I want to learn!" He looked so happy and I wasn't about to burst that bubble and so I just nodded. I could sneak him into school tomorrow. How hard could that be? "Come on," Feather said as he held onto my hand. I grabbed Lucius, picking him up. He led us back to the surface and into Azure's apartment. I guess that's where we were staying tonight. "Feather, tell Mercy I'm okay and she can chill in Hell as long as she wants to." He nodded a little before he disappeared again and I let out a slight breath of relief. He was here now. He wasn't down in hell. I knew him. I wasn't stupid, I f*****g knew him. I knew Lucifer and I didn't know where from. Where did I know that fucker from? Maybe he just reminded me of someone? No, but that wasn’t really possible, because with his looks I would remember who he reminded me of. Maybe it was his shitty personality. I knew lots of people with shitty personalities and that’s why I was thinking I knew him from somewhere. "Did those hurt?" "What?" I asked, looking down at him. Right, if he wanted to go to school, the blue skin and the silver eyes didn't look very human. "Your piercings?" "My piercings?" I said and he nodded. "Yeah! You kept licking your lip piercing. That's the first time I've seen it to the side. Usually, humans have it in the middle." "I wanted the side one." "Cool! What else have you pierced?" And, so I spent the next ten minutes showing Lucius my piercings. I had my ears done a lot, my tongue, lip and eyebrow. And then he got distracted by my tattoos, so he looked at all of them. "Whoa, why are you back on the surface? And is that Lucius? Did you f*****g steal, my brother? Lust, Xavier stole the Antichrist," Azure said, as he looked over at Lust. “Azure! Lust!” Lucius yelled. He ran to his brothers, Azure picked him up and Lust and he both coddled Lucius until he wanted to be put down. When he did, he ran back to me. "I'm sorry, the what now?" "Lucius is the Antichrist. But why are you back on the surface?" "Lucifer was being a f*****g d**k, so I left and I took Lucius with me." "Yeah, I can see that," Azure said as he eyed Lucius. He had gotten his hands on my phone and was currently fiddling with it. "Wait, Lucifer just let you leave?" Lust asked. "Well," I said as I scratched the back of my neck and licked my piercings. Okay, so maybe I did do that a lot, but it was a thing I never noticed. "Okay, so no. I told him he had to take me back and if he didn't I'd ask Feather and he didn't, so I got Feather to do it for me." "He's going to kill Feather," Azure deadpanned. "Feathers a big boy, I'm sure he can look after himself." I looked over at Azure, I mean I could ask him, could I not? But what were the chances he actually knew? "What are you thinking?" Azure said, he narrowed his eyes on me. "Oh, can't you read my mind?" "Usually, yes. But, I can't read yours or Church's."  Wait, he couldn't read my mind? Wait, he couldn't read Church's? That must have been a good thing. We all knew what Church actually said. Imagine what he must have thought of the filtering. "So, does Lucifer ever come to the surface like you all do or?" "Lucifer? To the surface, why?" "I know him." "That's impossible," he deadpanned, and I blinked a couple of times. "Lucifer isn't allowed on the surface like God isn't allowed on the surface. It would completely f**k up the little balance the Earth has left." "I know him. Don't treat me like I'm stupid." Azure and Lust both eyed one another. “Oh, he can’t be the one-” Azure said. “No, he can’t be. I mean, I know the earth is split and all but that’s too big of a coincidence for them to meet-” Lust interrupted. “But-” “Yeah-”  They both looked at me and I frowned. “What?!” “Nothing,” they both said, and I glared at them. “Okay. Fine, it’s something, but we can’t tell you. Literally, if we want to tell you, we physically can’t. Lucifer did a thing.” Great. I turned to Lust, who had given his attention to the boards. "Any luck finding any of them?" "No." "I don't get why they can't just stay on the surface." "The Sins are only in existence because of humans. But, think about it. Every time a human shows envy, Envy will get stronger. And the Sins being around humans heightens that sin. So if Wrath stayed on Earth with humans, all the humans within, I think a 2-mile radius of him would get angry. And he'd get stronger, so they'd get angrier and it's a vicious cycle. It was why all the pantheons said we had to put sins in a house in the void." "All the what?" "The deities from other religions?" "Wait, they exist too?" I said. "Yes." "So you're telling me, you're feeling me, that Zeus, Zeus the Greek God, Zeus is real?" "Yeah, a real d**k," Lust deadpanned. "I hate Zeus." "To be fair, everyone hates Zeus," Azure replied. "Hades is chill." "Hades is chill," Azure agreed and I just nodded. Right, of course. Of course. Why wouldn't all the other gods exist? f**k. I was having a full-on existential crisis. Gods were real. Hell was real. I was most likely going to burn in hell. Oh f**k. But I didn't believe in any of it. I wasn't religious and, from what I was aware of, neither was Mercy. So where did they leave us? In the void? Nothingness. "I don't understand why the sins just won't go back to hell?" "They know we'll put them back in the void." "Can't you just figure out a way to keep them in hell?" "I don't know, I'll tell Lucifer," Azure said, and I just nodded. I eyed Lust, who, to my surprise, was chewing his nails as he looked at the boards. "I don't understand why any of them aren't where you'd expect them to be." "Gluttony has to be the easiest to find. I don't understand why she isn't on the map," Azure said, as he too eyed the map. "Maybe because she doesn't want to be found?" I said and they both turned to glare at me.
