Chapter 11

Mints PoV Kai didn't deserve the father of the year award, I was aware, but he was still my father and I had just buried him. Well, no. He was buried over a month ago. Hell had become our new home, basically. I didn't mind, I don't think anyone minded. I had kept my distance from Azure. It was his fault that Kai was dead, and well, no longer human. "Will Kai remember us?" I asked. I looked over at Sloth, who shrugged. London rolled her eyes at Sloth and nodded. "If he's an angel, he will. And he's an angel." "If Azure had just left Kai alone, none of this would have happened, he would still be alive." "Don't be a d**k to Azure!" Feather snapped. "At the end of the day, Azure was in love with Kai. And Kai chose to forget him. Don't forget that. Azure did everything for Kai and Kai did nothing for him." "That's not true!" I yelled back. How could he just bad mouth Kai like that? "Really? Then what did Kai do? Tell me, what exactly did Kai do to help Azure? Because if anything, he's hurt Azure more in those 27 years he was alive, than all of us have combined and we've all been alive for a very long time," Ocean said, glaring at me. "He didn't save Kai," I whispered. "Right. It's not like he chose to forget Azure on purpose. It's not like he called Azure a monster when he found out. And, it's definitely not like his last words to Azure before he f*****g died were 'I hate you' when he knew He f*****g knew Azure was in love with him," Feather hissed. Oh. I didn't say anything. I mean, what could I say to that, exactly? "That's exactly what I f*****g thought. Don't be so ignorant. I couldn't care less if he was your father or not. At the end of the day, he hurt Azure," Feather said. "We didn't like him, there was a reason we didn't like him. And if he can hear me, I hope he f*****g chokes. And he f*****g can because they found out that Kai is an angel, and he's working with the angel from the church." "So, Kai is our enemy now?" I asked, looking around, and Nether smacked his lips together. "Yes." "I'm sorry," I mumbled. So, was Kai our enemy now? Oh. oh. Oh. "Say that to f*****g Azure. That was if you were speaking to Azure, and oh, you're not," Feather said, and Nether sighed. "Lay off the kid, Feather." "Am I f*****g wrong?" Feather deadpanned. "No," Nether sighed. "Exactly." "Okay," Cedar said, as he spoke up. "How about everyone calms down?" He frowned as he looked around. "Where are the twins?" "Mercy is with Sloth and Lucifer probably has Xavier babysitting Lucius again," Church said. That was the first time he'd spoken up. "Lucius, no!" Xavier yelled as he ran in after a naked laughing Lucius, he was also holding some pants. "Someone grab your brother!" Nether being the little s**t he was, grabbed Feather. Xavier rolled his eyes. "Thanks. You're so helpful." Cedar smiled as he picked up Lucius, who giggled. Xavier gave him a smile as he grabbed Lucius from him, slipping him into his pants. Damn, he had gotten used to looking after him. It was almost cute. Xavier looked around and frowned. "Why are we all so sad here?" "Mint still hasn't spoken to Azure," Nether said, and Feather rolled his eyes and smacked his arm. “And he just found out his daddy dearest is now an angel, who we’re going to kill.” Church made a noise at the back of his throat. I looked at him, he looked a little red and was trying to hide the heat that had risen to his cheeks. Ohhh. he was embarrassed that Church had said, daddy. Oh, my. Oh god. Did he have a kink? Did my best friend have a f*****g daddy kink? I mean, it was better than feet. Anything was better than feet. He just sighed and left. Nether watched him leave but didn’t go after him. "And? I don't see Azure anywhere," Xavier said. "On the surface, trying to find Gluttony. The only one left," Feather said. Yua was standing behind him and he wasn't looking at me. I sighed, as I swallowed a lump in my throat. I'd have to try and apologise again. "Right. Yeah, that whole s**t show. Speaking of it, has anyone seen Lust?" Xavier asked. "He's either sleeping with someone or crying," Ocean said as he ran a hand through his hair. Huh, so he was actually paying attention this time. "Or both," I said, shivering at what I had witnessed last time. "Both?" Feather asked. He looked disgusted but curious, at the same time. "No, you don't want to know," I mumbled. "Right. Right. So, Church, what are you?" Nether said as he stared at him. "Lucifer wants to know himself," Church said. "He still hasn't figured it out?" Xavier grumbled. "No." "f*****g hell." "Why can't we let the Seven destroy the rest of humanity and we just sort of chill in hell?" Mercy said, as she too walked in. We were all in the main lounge room in the mansion. "No, Mercy. We've had this conversation," Cedar said as he looked at her, she pouted and he gave her his signature closed-eyed smile. Azure walked in, he looked, well, he didn't look like himself. He was pale and skinny. He was dangerously skinny now that I thought about it. How had he lost so much weight in the span of a month? But he was wearing a white shirt. I think that was the same shirt I had seen him wearing the last six times. f*****g hell, how long had it been since he washed it? I watched as Church frowned at his phone and wandered away. "I think I found her," he said, and he looked around. "Gluttony, that is." "Okay? What are you waiting for?! Go get her!" Ocean yelled. "Can someone come with me? If he's there I don't want to see him." Church ran over to where we were and then stopped in his track when he saw Nether who had moved in front of him. "Oh. I'll come back later," he said. Nether rolled his head and grabbed Church by the arm and made him stand beside him. "Say what you need to say now." "Lucifer had a breakthrough on me. What I am." "And, what are you?" "A hybrid." See, everyone in the room stopped and turned to stare at Church. "Now, who's going to ask what the f**k he's a hybrid on?" Feather deadpanned. "A hybrid of what, Church?" Nether whispered. "Angel and demon. Kind of." "I'm sorry, angel and demon?" Feather asked as he blinked a few times. I looked over at Yua. He wasn't looking at me. "Which fuckers f****d?" Nether deadpanned. "I bet it was Amendiel," Ocean mumbled. "No, but who's the demon?" Feather asked. He looked up at Yua like he expected a reply. Had Yua begun talking to him too? Was that no longer our thing? Oh. "Ammon? Beelzebub?" Ocean said. "No, I bet it was Abbadon, he was always a bit of a w***e," Sloth said as she popped her bubblegum. "What are you throwing names around for?" Lucifer grumbled as he walked in. Even with those huge eye bags underneath his eyes, he still looked like he would kill me with zero hesitation. He was exhausted and he looked like he would still kill me and then sleep next to my corpse because he was tired. "I've done so many tests on him and I don't know, but I didn't think of doing a hybrid one," Lucifer said and Azure rolled his eyes. "Yes, because hybrids, especially between an angel and a demon, don't f*****g exist," Azure deadpanned. "Test him yourself. At first, I thought he was an offspring of one of the Sins. That's why he could sneak up on them, but no. He was actually an angel and demon." "We can sense both," Sloth deadpanned. "Not when the energies cancel each other out," Lucifer deadpanned. "And after some more tests, it pans out. He's an offspring of a high archangel and a high arc demon. So get all of my children here and try and remember which one of you f****d an angel." He waved his hand around and ran a hand through his hair. "Wait, you think it's one of us?" Cedar asked, and Lucifer nodded. "Yes, I do think it's one of you, so I'm not going to ask again, go get the rest of my monsters and figure out which one you screwed and Angel and left a kid on the surface. Xavier, come on." Xavier rolled his eyes and arched his neck to look up at Lucifer. "f**k off, I'm staying with Mercy for a bit." Xavier had no chill, even when speaking to the devil. I didn't know whether I should have laughed or cried, to be honest. "No, but none of us has f****d," Azure said. "Speak for yourself," Lust mumbled as he walked in and I thought Azure looked like s**t, but holy f**k, Lust looked so much worse. He was in a very thin oversized shirt and that was it. He had lost his sparkler, he had bags under his eyes and he just didn't seem like himself. "Lust," Cedar said, slowly, as he took a step toward him. "Are you okay?" Lust cleared his throat and he eyed the rest of us. "So what are we saying? Who f****d who?" "Well, apparently Lucifer has a theory that one of us f****d an angel and the result was Church." "Ah, s**t does that make me your uncle?"Lust asked, and Nether made a face. "Or, my dad," Church said and Lust snorted. "No, I have never f****d without a condom. Ever. Well, no, that's a lie. Only with one person. But anyway, no. It's not mine." "What about that one person?" I asked and Azure winced and Xavier snorted. "I bottom for him." "Well, it's not me," Azure said. So everyone, sort of went around the room saying why it wasn't them. And so, it didn't actually help, but what could you do? Then all eyes were on Lucifer. "You said it was in one of us," Azure said, as he crossed his arms over his chest. Previously, when he did that, he looked so intimidating, but now? He looked like a child who had just been told no. Lucifer looked over at Azure eyes wide. Seeing that look he had on his face was hilarious. I did not know that Lucifer, the actual devil, could make a face like that. "You're not suggesting he's my kid?" "Holy s**t, I better not be," Church mumbled. "I mean you're the devil and my name is Church. My name is f*****g Church. You should see what I'm trying to say here, right? Wait, f**k, does that mean I have the hots for my f*****g brother?" "That's stupid, Church. You should go to hell," Mercy snorted at her own joke. "i****t, hm." "Wait, can we go back to the thing of you liking your brother?" Nether said. Church looked at him and scowled. "No. f**k you," he deadpanned. “Please, your name is Mercy. Mercy in Hell. That's a s**t show in itself." "And yet, I don't have any." "Damn. That's hot," a guard mumbled. I wasn't quite sure where they seemed to come from, but they did. "f**k off," Xavier growled. "Well, he's not my kid." "Well, he's clearly someone's, and if you're sure he's an upper arch demon's offspring, and it's not any of us, then who else could it be?" "The Horsemen?" Sloth asked. She had a grimace on her face as she rubbed her neck. "No. Are you dumb?" Nether deadpanned, glaring at her. I know, we were supposed to be figuring out that, but Yua hadn't looked at me once this entire time and it was driving me insane. How was I supposed to apologise to him if he wouldn't even look at me? "I'm sorry, who now?" Mercy asked. "Well, the four horsemen of the apocalypse. You know, Famine, Conquest, War and Death." "Are you trying to tell me, Death, the actual death, could be my dad?" "Well, even Death is a deadbeat dad," Xavier deadpanned. "But no?" Mercy said as she eyed us. "We learned about the four horsemen of the apocalypse. Death disguises himself as a fragile old woman." "Yes, he disguises himself. It doesn't mean he is actually a fragile old woman," Lucifer explained. He had reached out to touch Xavier's neck, who had tensed but didn't say anything. Lucifer let his hand rest on the back of Xavier's neck. Xavier looked up at him, eyebrows raised before he shrugged his hand off of him. "Does that mean he has the whole black robes, scythe, skeleton escapade going on?" Church asked, completely oblivious to whatever was happening between the two. "Escapade?" Cedar asked, eyebrows raised and Church just let out a noise. "I don't know the word I'm looking for," he admitted. "Thing?" Mercy said. "Extravaganza?" I said. "That's worse than escapade!" Church yelled at me and I threw my hands in the air. "We really shouldn't let them spend all their time in Hell," Sloth said as she eyed us all. "Look at them. These fuckers' first language is English and they don't even know what they're bloody on about." "She has a point. Should I get a tutor for them?" Lucifer said as he looked around and I think he was 100% serious. "Or," Pride said. "We could let them go back to school? Me included." "No, you can't do that," I said as I looked at them. Pride narrowed his eyes at me and I gave him a smile. "Everyone in our class knows we are in hell. Literally." "You fuckers ain't really subtle," Xavier said. "Okay, so we'll worry about their education later. For now, we need to track and locate the horsemen." "Azure, I'll do it," Nether said. "You just get some rest." "No, I'm fine. I need to find Gluttony anyway. So I'll locate them, the horsemen, too. At least they're not trying to kill us." "Right, now anyway," I said, and all eyes were on me, except Yua. He was staring at the ceiling as if it was the most fascinating thing he'd ever seen. "I'm sorry, but we've read about them. About how they bring the end of the world," I said. "You mean what's left of the world," Nether said, and Church eyed him. Church turned on his heel and left and Nether looked at me and then at Church and he decided to go after him. "So, does anyone have any idea about what is going on with those two, or?" Lucifer said and all eyes were on him. "What?" Lucifer said, he was mainly talking to Xavier, who was glaring at him. "I want to be involved in my kids’ love life." "You should stick to being consistent in their lives and not giving them daddy issues." "I have not given my kids daddy issues," Lucifer deadpanned. I watched as he put his hands on the back of Xavier’s neck. He slowly dragged his nails across his neck and I saw how Xavier had ended up rolling his eyes back in pleasure. And then decided to violently elbow Lucifer, who made a face. But the smile on Lucifer’s face was there. "I'm not about to have this argument with you here, now. Yes, you have. We've discussed this. The majority, if not all, your kids have daddy issues,” Xavier "Don't forget mommy issues," Feather added. "See," Xavier deadpanned as he looked up at Lucifer. I wasn't quite sure how Xavier was able to keep eye contact with Lucifer for so long without wanting to throw himself onto the first sword he found. I mean, the man was my grandfather and he scared the absolute s**t out of me. "Feather, Yua help Azure with finding the horsemen." "No," I said. f**k. I cleared my throat a little. "I want Yua's help with-" I trailed off. Help with what? I didn't need any help. "No, whatever. Yua can stay with you. You," Mercy said, as she pointed at Lucifer. "You tell us your relationship with them." "Like, are they your kids too?" Church asked. "No. The horsemen aren't my kids too. They're more like my brothers." "They were angels once too?" Mercy asked. "Okay, so clearly brothers isn't the right word," Lucifer said. "The horsemen are my childhood friends?" "They were angels once too? Because you were an Angel when you were a kid. Were you not?" Xavier asked and Lucifer rolled his eyes. "They're not angels! They're their own entities. I'm just going to call them the drunk uncles that show up at a party every now and then with gifts. And if you ask if they're my brothers, I will kill you." "Cool," I said. "But also not cool. So what would happen if he was one of the horsemen's kids?" "We'd have to kill him," Lucifer said. "Absolutely f*****g not. You're not killing my best friend!" I hissed. "This is why your kids have daddy issues." Xavier deadpanned. "You kill their lovers." "Church and Nether aren't lovers." "Not right now and they won't be able to either if you KILL CHURCH." "I see your point, but the very thin balance of humanity rests here." "Church's been alone all these years and nothing has happened," I said. "I've only known him for 3-4 years." "No, but if he comes into his power, we're all screwed." "Not if we went to the other side," Azure whispered. "That's a f*****g suicide mission," Ocean deadpanned. "No, think about it," Sloth said, as she clapped her hands. "The horsemen are considered evil, right? Even if they are neutral, humans consider them evil, so their energies are evil. So, if we took Church to the other side, where the angels roam, wouldn't they cancel each other out?" "But he also has angelic energies," Nether said. "Won't they counteract with one another?" "All of this is an issue if he comes into his power," I said. "Which may never happen." "Well," Lucifer said, as he cleared his throat a little. Xavier narrowed his eyes as he slapped him. "What did you f*****g do?"
