False allies

Chapter 13

Aaron's childish behaviour caught Lily by surprise, and she couldn't help but burst out laughing at him. Aaron was, in many respects, comparable to Cameron; however, he was somewhat older, covered in tattoos, and wore a tongue piercing that she had, for some inexplicable reason, failed to recognise.

Have you been wearing that since the previous day? During this process, she c****d her head to one side, bent her head, and fixed her attention on his mouth.

There was a brief moment there when I seriously doubted my own consciousness and questioned whether or not I was still alive. The woman let forth a wry smile.

"So, you're interested in getting a piercing in your tongue?" She couldn't help but feel a flutter in her stomach whenever she saw that grin on his face.

I often declare that "they have always sparked my curiosity." Her cheeks had a pinkish hue to them.

She did have some curiosity about them, but not for the reasons you might think. She had heard that both men and women used them to gain the upper hand in a s****l encounter. She was surprised to hear that. She wasn't entirely certain that she wanted one, but the prospect of trying one out piqued her interest.

In response to this, she said, "Well, I had better get going." I have no doubt that Cameron is concerned about my well-being. As the topic of discussion switched, she experienced a decrease in her feelings of self-consciousness. "Thank you so much for the lunch; this place is fantastic." I asked her how she was doing, and all she did was smile in response.

"Without a doubt, one of my top choices." The grin was returned by him. Would you like me to come pick you up in my car? In any event, I'm going to make my way over to the condominiums.

"Sure." Her face had changed, and it gave the impression that she was in a better mood.

Aaron collected their trash and disposed of it as they were getting ready to leave. The restaurant was owned by a family and had a homey atmosphere; everything was prepared freshly to order using high-quality ingredients. She accompanied him to his dark green sports car as the sun was shining brightly. The girl found herself with her mouth wide open.

"She's very attractive, don't you think?" His smirk was one of superiority.

"Yea." Then she took a deep breath and continued. Are you sure you aren't going to put an end to my life here?

"Ouch, you're criticising my abilities as a motorist?"

I have a natural knowledge of the ways in which boys engage with the toys that they play with. She poked fun at the situation in a humorous way.

You're in luck, seeing how I'm not a male and all. He flashed a sly grin and slipped on a pair of dark sunglasses before lowering himself onto the squat bench.

Despite her eye roll, she couldn't help but laugh. She eased herself into the passenger seat and took a tour of the spotless cabin before settling in. Due to the exorbitant price tag attached to this automobile, its interior was immaculate.

Although he drove well, the speed at which he drove was significantly higher than what Lily was accustomed to, and she found herself desperately holding on to the seat for dear life. She was in such a state of shock that she was unable to absorb the fact that he had just referred to Cameron as a boy and himself as a man.

Because of his quickness, getting back to their apartment complex didn't take them very long at all. They got out of the car after he had arrived at the predetermined parking spot. While Lily waited for him on the sidewalk, he opened the trunk of his car.

"Beer." He started laughing as he pulled a bag out of the trunk of his car.

I have no idea how you guys pull it off, but I've seen that you consume alcohol every single night. She waved him off and then followed him to Cameron's floor, where she made a dismissive motion with her head.

"Cameron?"

According to one of his travelling buddies, "Hey guys, he's in the shower right now." Courtney reclined back on the couch after she had finished drying her hair.

Because Lily was taken aback by the combo, she was unable to keep a straight face, and her mouth hung open as a result. What about taking a shower in a communal space? She clenched her teeth and took a deep breath before putting on a fake smile for the camera.

"Did he comply with my request and go shopping after I told him to?"

"I have significant doubts about it because he never follows the directions I give him."

Lily's teeth were gritted because, for some reason, Courtney was giving her a lot of trouble today. She turned her head to where Aaron was standing approximately halfway into the kitchen and spoke to him. The image of Courtney's wet hair triggered an overwhelming number of mental images, and as a result, she made the decision to pursue him.

Holy s—t, he really did go to the store, right? Aaron spoke to the refrigerator in a frank manner. There isn't much room for drinks there at all! After forcing the box into space, he tore at the cardboard until he was able to retrieve a can.

"He did?" She experienced a burst of hope, despite the fact that she was unable to describe why.

She went over to take a look at his purchases, and she was astounded to discover that her Cameron had the financial means to stock up on a wide variety of fresh fruit. Her thoughts suddenly exploded with a number of different concepts for dinners that she could whip up on the spot.

Courtney was asked, "What the heck are you doing here?" after the question was posed to her. When Lily heard Cameron's stern tone, she became frightened and inadvertently banged the refrigerator door.

Cameron's expression turned hostile the moment he laid eyes on Lily and Aaron. The look on his face shifted, and for a fraction of a second, one could detect remorse in the gaze that emanated from his eyes. What makes this even worse? Was he ashamed of the way he behaved towards Courtney, or did the two of them engage in activities together?
