Chapter 12

1243 Words
As soon as she opened her eyes, Lily noticed that her bed was empty. She extended her arms and legs and ran her fingers through her hair as she did so. The headache was rather mild and very easy to relieve. After that, she went ahead and showered, cleaned her teeth, and finally, she clothed herself. She was only wearing a pair of black pants and a black shirt with a v-neck. While she was making her way to the kitchen from the front door, she overheard Cameron and another person having a conversation. Her ravenous desire to know what was around the next corner compelled her to sneak a peek. Courtney was seen standing in the hallway with her lips drawn together. Because Cameron was blocking her path inside the building, he insisted that she was not permitted to go inside. She was overcome with feelings of jealousy as well as guilt. From the very beginning, Cameron was solely and entirely her responsibility. Because everything they did together was so mundane in her eyes, she never even considered Courtney once during any of it. By chewing on her lower lip, she was able to block off her thoughts. Lily did not continue to be with them but instead went into the kitchen. She covered what was going on in her tummy with her hands because it was rumbling. Because they hadn't been to the grocery store yet, she decided to have a slice of pizza that was already cold. She didn't seem to be bothered by it in the least. As she was sitting down, Cameron came in looking quite frustrated. Because he kept running his hands through his hair, it was a tangled mess. The sight of her occupying the little space at the table compelled him to take a closer look. "Good morning, Lily," the man said. "Morning. Have you run into any trouble with your girlfriend? "Remember, I'm not dating her." "She's not the one I'm interested in." He went up to her with a scowl on his face. "You almost had me," as the youth say these days. She ate till she was completely satisfied. To put it another way, "Do you require even more discipline?" I'm sorry, but I won't be able to remain much longer; I have to leave to start my tour. She swept by him with a lovely smile on her face as she did so. I'd appreciate it if you could go out and get some food for me. As she frantically exited the house and made her way to school, she took her backpack from the hook on the back of the door. Even though it wasn't going to begin for another hour, she was in desperate need of some time for herself. She proceeded to the north door because that was where the tour participants were supposed to gather, and once she got there, she picked a comfy seat to wait on. When it was finally time to start the tour, she did her best to focus, but her thoughts kept going back to Courtney and what the best course of action would be for her. She considered both approaching Courtney with something and looking elsewhere before making her decision. It is possible that she will end up with a new partner, regardless of whether or not she wants one. It started to appear as though she was engaging in unethical behaviour by going along this route. Cameron argued that they were not a pair, but she conceded that she had seen guys behave in a similar manner in the past. The realisation that he was one of them brought about excruciating pain. The trip had a significant impact on Lily's mental state. Because her thoughts were constantly racing, she was much more easily sidetracked. "Hey, Lily," one said in an inviting tone. "Hm?" She was startled out of her trance and looked at Aaron for some reason. "Oh, hey." "Why are you so glum today?" "No-Nothing. Probably hungry." She did it without thinking, but she wrapped a strand of hair around her finger. Do you want to join me for lunch sometime soon? One of my gifts to you in this regard "Um, yeah. As she gazed up at him, she wore a broad grin on her face the entire time. When asked, "Where were you going?" "I haven't decided yet; what do you think would be a decent option?" The phrase "something else" is used to denote the opposite of pizza. The woman let forth a wry smile. Cameron wandered around the grocery store without any particular destination in mind. He did not have any ideas or thoughts at the moment. He subsisted on ramen, hot pockets, and a wide variety of sweet cereals, in addition to drinking beer. When it came to food, Lily preferred wholesome meals that were prepared at home. Because of him, she cannot be with anyone else. He appeared to be frowning at the time. He was well aware that the school tour didn't start at the time she claimed it did and that it wouldn't take an hour to walk there. He also knew that she was lying about the amount of time it would take to get there. It was incomprehensible to him why she would want to mislead him in such a way. And the fact that she seemed to imply that he was already dating Courtney was driving him absolutely insane. He put in a variety of fruits and vegetables, some raw chicken, and assorted other ingredients at random. He went home, grabbed a couple more suitcases that he was sure his mother had at the house, and then he crossed his fingers. We informed her that the next time she whined about something, we would let her go shopping at our place. During the time that he was waiting for the cashier to scan his things, he noticed Lily leaving the store. It was rather strange, especially considering the fact that it was in the exact opposite direction from the school. His blood started to boil as he noticed Aaron standing next to her with a smirk on his face while listening to whatever it was that she was saying. It was a struggle for Cameron to pull his focus away from them. He had a severe case of the clenched jaw. He was concerned about it despite the fact that he shouldn't have been. He claimed Lily as his own property. But, he argued with himself, she was not. And if she thinks he's seeing Courtney, it's possible that she'll start thinking about dating again. He began to slump as the hollowing out of his stomach continued. He was opposed to her having a relationship with anyone else. That was the point in time when I realised what was going on. Because he disliked seeing her with someone else, it's likely that she didn't take pleasure in either seeing Courtney or knowing that he had been with her. The fact that Courtney was so insistent that they go out together was detrimental to the situation. In spite of the throbbing pain in his head, he swiftly gathered the bags and took them out to his worn-out automobile. He demanded an answer to this predicament as quickly as humanly feasible. After tossing his bags into the trunk of the car, he drove back to his apartment to begin unpacking.
