Ep.3 - A Misfortune Girl

**Antonia's POV - Flash back**

  The 1st and only time Dr.Sanchez's step-daughter and I have met was 11 or 12 years ago. I was just a young princess who strolled throughout the town along side with my elder twin brother, the crown prince Daniel. And when we came across town square,we had face the cruel world outside the palace wall for the first time.

      "You, Omega b*tch! You dare ask for food while you didn't earn any penny!?"

      "But father *sniff* --"

 Without any word out of that poor girl's mouth, that...monster hit her on her face. With weak and skinny body of hers, she bounced off against town square's fountain, cracked her head skin in process.

      "Don't you dare use that word with me! You're nothing, but my greatest mistake!"

  I remembered seeing that monster treated her like that didn't make me afraid, instead, it made my blood boiled with rage that I almost kill him with my bare hands like a fool. But my brother grabbed my arm and warned me.

      "Antonia, I know you're angry--But you have to think this through before get it done"

      "But--"

      "No. You're princess Antonia. You have to be better than that. If you act recklessly, think about what it might causes to our parents"

  Even though these scene is killing me, but like he said, I can't just be reckless and help her directly. The royals interface with this kind of thing rarely turns out for everyone. So I close my eyes, calm down and ask myself--What my parents would do if they're facing these instead of me? Then suddenly, the answer runs through my head step by step and left a victorious smile on my face.

      "You're right. And now I know how to help her--Come with me!"

  I had my brother helps me search for Dr. Sanchez and begged him to follow us while described the situation along the way.

      "Slow down, your highness--What was happening?"

      "Please, Dr. If we don't hurry, it might getting worse!"

      "Antonia, slow down and tell us what you're thinking 1st or else, we might end up being the source of conflict between nobles and people"

      "Fine--Do you remember civil laws on matters of Omegas Rights? It said--"

      "Any harm that cause or may cause from racism in any form--"

      "Will be sentenced to 25 'til life-time imprison or fine for 200,000 golds or both"

  My brother and I take turn to say civil laws aloud while left Dr. Sanchez in even more confuse. But once we arrive at the town square where that monster still beats her up, he finally come to an understanding. He knew that neither me nor my brother can't directly interface with that since it's surely gonna spread chaos among the crowd. So he took his queue from there.

      "Stop right there!"

  When that monster saw a fine dress officer like Dr.Sanchez yelled at him, he stopped, but still held that poor little girl's throat within his hand.

      "What!? Don't tell me, fancy noble like ya'self give a d@mm 'bout this Omega b*tch!"

      "You're killing her! Unhand her this instant!"

      "Or what!? This b*tch is my property! It's born from my stupid mistake!"

  He tighten his grip around her neck even further. In a second between  life and death, especially an innocent girl likes her--I couldn't stand still any longer! With furious jabbed against his hand, it became loosen and dropped the girl right in my arms.

      "F_ck! How dare you--"

      "Spill another word and that'll be your last voice to be heard"

      "What a f_cking day! 1st, this b*tch of mine--"

  I gently passed the half-conscious girl over to Dr. Sanchez. And before he or my brother could react, I released another forceful punch right at his upper stomach which caused him downed to his knees.

      "Urgh!"

      "What did I just said!?"

      "Ann!"

  My brother swiftly yanked me backward and signaled 2 short whistles to order our hidden bodyguard to take care of this situation.

      "Dr. Sanchez, please take care of this for us"

      "Don't worry, Danny. I got this. Take Ann back home with you"

  He referred to us with our nicknames in order to cover our identities. Danny for Daniel and Ann for Antonia. After we got back home, I was lecture by our parents and was grounded for weeks. But luckily, no one discovers that the prince and princess was in the historical incident which made the government took the Omega Rights seriously from then on. That little girl also made full recovery. After father pardoned me, I paid her a visit.

      "Dr. Sanchez"

      "Your highness"

      "How is she?"

      "She's getting better everyday. After I ran full analysis on her, it also made me think he did deserved that life-time imprison"

  Even he tried to keep calm posture, but his eyes was full with fury rage. It made my blood boiled inside my vain just recalled of that day. Dr. Sanchez cleared his throat and continued.

      "What matters now is she'll made full recovery in no time--Thanks to you"

      "Me? I barely done anything. In fact, I made things worse, remember?"

      "Don't be so hard on yourself. If it wasn't for you, Kaitlyn's neck might be broken by that guy by now"

      "Kaitlyn?"

  I lifted my eyebrow in question toward Dr. Sanchez. He looked back at me before come to realization then explained.

      "The girl you saved was called Kaitlyn Liao, your highness"

      "Thank you, Dr.--I just realized that I never ask about her name before"

      "It's okay. Like I said, don't be so hard on yourself--You did saved her life"

  He took me to Kaitlyn's room within the hospital. But when we were about to enter, the door was open from the inside by Lily, Dr. Sanchez's wife. She looked surprise then curtsied to me.

      "Your highness. I didn't expect you here, or else I'd dress finely"

      "I feel honor, Mrs. Sanchez. But don't worry about me, you're beautiful in the nurse gown anyway"

      "Yeah. Her highness's right on that one"

  Beaming, her face grew red after heard a compliment from me and her husband. She smiled then said.

      "Aren't you two charming as always?"

      "We're afraid so--Anyway, how's Kaitlyn?"

      "She just fail asleep, dear. I'm afraid you'll have to come back later, your highness"

      "It's okay. I just want to make sure that she's okay"

  I looked over Lily's shoulder inside the room to saw that Kaitlyn was sleeping peacefully on her bed. Finally, it felt like I could breath again.

      "So what'll happen to her after this? Does she has any relate to take care of her?"

      "No one dares to claim to be related to a life-time prisoner right now, your highness"

      "Oh..."

      "But lucky for her, after it became clear that she got no suitable protector left, she was up for adoption"

  Confused, I looked at Lily with more questions than answers. My gesture was pretty clear that made them chuckled and started to explained.

      "We're adopting her, your highness"

      "What!? Dr. Sanchez, really?"

      "Yes. Why we shouldn't?"

      "But I thought you aren't ready for a child"

  They suddenly looked sad. I realized that I was rude toward them, so I tried to apologize.

      "My apologizes, I shouldn't--"

      "It's alright, your highness. It isn't your fault that you might think that way--It was our intention to made it seems like that anyway"

  Dr. Sanchez put his arm around Lily's shoulder to give her a soothing squeeze. He met her eyes to reassured her then let she continued.

      "Even both of us work in medical branch, we couldn't save any of our child"

      "What!?"

      "We almost have a child couple times, but...after my 3rd miscarries--Neither of us could take it anymore"

      "Sorry to hear that. I--I never know"

      "Thank you. We really appreciate that"

  Dr. Sanchez gave his wife gave his wife a handkerchief along with soothing kiss on her head. He turned back to me and said.

      "We lost so much, just like her. From what we saw, Kaitlyn also lost her family a long time ago"

      "And that's why we want to adopt her. Not only because of our lost, but we also want to believe that we could fulfill her life as well"

      "Don't worry. I'm not gonna judge you. I do believe that both of you could give her a loving family...and a life she deserved"

  I squeezed their hands to reassure every words I said. I looked at newly parents with their daughter with delighted heart and said goodbye. And that's the last time I really saw Kaitlyn.

//Back to the present//

  While on a ride back to the palace, my mind keeps wonder how does she look like? Is she tall? Is she chubby? What's her eye's color? I chuckle and sign to myself--I really had it hard.
