Daisy appears to be genuinely surprised to see me at her door. I offer her a tight smile, waving the phone in her face to show her that I have an outgoing call, then I walk past her into the house. I head to the living room while she goes back to the kitchen, and I flop on the sofa, crossing fingers that Gina will answer the phone. I know what I'm doing is stupid but it needs to be done.
