Hope

I couldn’t believe what he had just said. This man who only knew me for a few hours was willing to give up his pack just to be with me. My head began to spin and then I started to cry again. “Did I do something wrong beautiful? Please don’t cry.” He said with a sad look on his face. “Jeramy I wouldn’t ask you to do something like that. You just met me. Your pack should mean a lot more to you.” “No Zoe you are my mate. The Moon Goddess picked you herself just for me. I refuse to live without you. If my pack loves me then they will understand and welcome you with open arms. If that is not the case then it is just you and me against the world baby.” “Great spirits this man was perfect.” He knew what to say to make it all seem better. We sat in silence for a few moments before he spoke. “So beautiful who am I going to rip apart for trying to cause you any harm?” “No Jeramy I don’t want to get you involved it’s too dangerous.” “Zoe you are my single reason for living at this point. If someone tried hurting, you then that means they are on my s**t list. No one hurts you and gets to live.” “Jeramy please.” “Zoe this is not something up for discussion I will protect you till I take my very last breath.” This man sure knew how to make my insides flip. “I am not sure who would even know I was a witch. I just moved here a few months ago. I normally don’t stay in one area too long to keep from anyone finding me.” “But what about someone from back home? Maybe your coven would know.” I put my head down and shook it no. “I am the last of my coven. I have been since I was 16.” He pulled me closer. Not even asking questions or prying. I was thankful for this but he had to know what he was getting himself into. “It was the day before I turned 16. I had been out in the forest collecting herbs for a spell I wanted to try out. I had gone off the path that my mother had marked for me. I knew I would get in trouble if she found out, but I knew where the best Lilac flowers grew. I was so deep into thought about my spell that I lost track of time. When I finally snapped back to reality, I saw that it was starting to get dark. I made my way down to the path when I heard screaming. I knew it was from my coven. I ran as fast as I could to help. When I reached my village, I saw everything on fire. There were bodies everywhere. I then ran to look for my mother and my twin sisters when I found them.” I had to pause and take a deep breath. Jeramy began to rub circles on my back waiting for me to continue. His touch gave me the strength to finish. I told him how I found my mother and what she told me about being the most powerful witch. “Since then I have been on my own learning to use my powers while trying to find the Maro sisters and destroy them as they destroyed my coven.” When I finished, Jeramy pulled me closer and wrapped me in a protective hug. “I am so sorry baby. I will never let you go through anything awful again. You are not alone anymore. You have me. I just have to say I am so sorry for not finding you sooner. I don’t want you to ever feel alone again. Let me heal your pain.” I couldn’t help but look up into his eyes. This man was willing to give me the moon and the stars. I sat there in his arms finally feeling a sense of peace. I don’t know how but just being in his arms made the heaviness in my heart fade away for the first time since that tragic day. I couldn’t help but look up and admire this gorgeous man that was made just for me. I couldn’t figure out what good thing I had done to deserve a god like this. Jeramy was about six foot two if I was guessing right. When I stood next to him I felt tiny but his size made me feel safe. He had jet black hair and the most hypnotizing golden brown eyes. His seductive smile could make a nun do dirty things. He was covered in muscles and tattoos. Looking at him with no shirt on made my core weep. The basketball shorts hung just right on his hips making me wonder what underneath had to offer. “Gorgeous you are making it so hard not to grab you and go tie you to your bedposts.” “You can read minds?” “No, but I can smell your arousal.” I felt my face turning bright red so I tried to cover it with my hands but Jeramy pulled them away. “Don’t be embarrassed with me baby” I couldn’t help but smile up at him and snuggle further into his chest.
