CHAPTER 2

King’s spade Omar returned to his wing after discussing his brutal planning with his second and third in command. There was an amusement plastered on his sculpted face. His sharp cheekbones and jawline highlighted with the light shone by the lit torches around the camp. The heavy sheets worn over the poles kept them hidden in the deserted place like this.  It must be a blessing he received from Caerus, a goddess of wishes and luck, who once blessed Omar when he was on a hunt and save Caerus’s favorite deer from the claws of a powerful panther. She was impressed by his skills as a wolf and granted him eternal luck. But will that luck ever work on Olympians? No one knows, not even Omar himself. When he returned to his camp, he found his pregnant queen struggling to get up. He rushed immediately and being a responsible husband, he lifted his wife carefully and helped her sit upright. “Alaine? You should have called someone?” the king was disappointed from his queen’s stubbornness. He could have left his queen at the castle but he knew Zeus and his sinistrous tricks. Zeus wanted only one single chance to ruin this for the entire wolf species, and it began with the queen of wolves and ended with her. The king didn’t want to take the risk of leaving his pregnant wife behind, so he brought her on the battlefield but kept him hidden from evil eyes. “Omar? The dawn is about to happen. Are you going back to war?” the queen asked with a hope in her heart. “I am afraid, Aliane, but i have to. I have to look up to my promises that I have made you. I want to give you and our child a better place.” the king replied politely, caressing the rosy pink cheeks of the queen. “Is it necessary?” the queen pressed her lips in a thin line and her eyebrows joined together. “This is a doubt?” the king raised his eyes on her. “I know! It’s just that I am feeling confined about something. My guts have told me that those olympians are going to play dirty. I am scared, Omar. what if something unfavourable happened, something unsatisfactory. I did not want to bother you with my assumptions but…” the queen was at the verge of another mental breakdown. “Shhh!! Don’t say a thing and forget that we are in a world.” the king put his hands on the shoulders of his queen and stared right into her eyes. “I will put my best efforts in the battle today, in case, somehow, we lost it.” he took out a decorative bottle with red sand filled in it, and handed it to the queen, “take this and leave the spot!” the king looked determined. The queen’s breath hitched while gazing upon the bottle, “magical sand? Where did you get this?” she asked in disbelief. “This is not the right time, please do as i say.” the king was dead serious and the queen understood. “Where will i go?” she asked hesitantly  “Anywhere, in any time zone, where you can keep our child safe.” the king said. “I love you, Alaine! I might get lost in history today, but my love for you will remain forever.” he said his last words to his queen and left the wing to join the battle. The queen was depressed as she knew that the king won’t make it up to the dusk. But life won’t end here, it will go on and on. She had prepared herself for the day. The army was lined up and the commanders had taken their position. The king’s arrival made everyone tempted to join the battle. In exchange for life, they will give life to their newones. Today, it was no different. The soldiers knew many of them would sacrifice their lives and become victorious one day. King Omar nodded his head and the army walked out from the camp and headed to the no men land. The sooner they approach the battlefield, the heavier their hearts sink. Seeing the dead bodies around the place, made them disgusted but what could have been done? No one is willing to step away when it comes to extinction of a community. The wolves are afraid too, and they are determined to win the war, no matter what it will take from them. The ground appeared clear but soon the dust flowed up in the air with loud steps of the animals carrying their propherus deities on their back. The smugness on their faces elaborated a different story. Seemed like not only wolves had prepared to finish the war today, but the dietis too. On the war chariot, Zeus appeared out from the clouds of dust, tall and towering the hybrid wolves. The scars on his face are the marks of experience, and his golden body glowed like a shade of neon glitters. King Omar in his chariot, approached the coming chariot of Zeus. they stared at each other for a good time until Zeus decided to break the silence. “Omar! Your dedication and skills really impressed me. So far, you have been a great king and an ultimate warrior but if you keep colliding me, i am afraid that you will turn into dust.” Zeus commented while observing Omar from head to toe. Omar smirked and replied gracefully, “it’s been an honor for me to impress you, my lord but my dedication and skills devoted to my kind, to save them. I have been a great king because my progeny is the greatest of all. They made me capable of becoming a great king.”  Omar stared into Zeus eyes in a challenging way. “You are capable of doing better than that, Omar. Why waste your time on such creatures? We can give power more than you have ever imagined. Don’t waste your time and join us” Zeus tried to bribe him. “And become your pet? I would rather die here than becoming anything of you. I will make you drop on your knees and ask for mercy.” Omar screamed. “Well, we will see in the battle.” Zeus replied in a flat tone and returned to his position. Omar did not waste another second and return as well. “What did he say?” the commander asked his king. “That jerk is too high on weeds to think straight, we have to bring him on his knees.” the king replied sarcastically. “Attack!!!!” the commander screamed and the armies collided. Killing, thrashing and cutting each other. There were shadows everywhere, and fire arrows shooting from the corners.  The big footed monsters attacked the humanoid wolves, some died, some attacked and some killed the monsters, and the list goes on and on. The blood spilled from each and every body, rivers of blood flowed from every direction, painting the battlefield red. The impaired organs detached and threw randomly on the ground. The gory images of the murders and killing were completely ignored by the soldiers. They were engaged keeping their eyes on enemies, as well as on the attacks they had to save themselves. King Omar spotted Zeus on his chariot heading towards him. Zeus was carrying his powerful sword harpe with him, swinging it up in the air and attacking Omar. Omar dodged it and defended with his own sword, platinus.  They both were angry and furious and the world was not prepared for the wrath. They attacked and played skillfully with their weapons to kill each other. However, they both were equally powerful except the fact which is, Zeus is a god of thunder and Omar is the king of wolves. But Omar’s god is Lycaon. A notorious god of wolves. The blades of each sword generated sparks and caused lightning on the ground. Zeus’s sword was pinned by Omar which made Zeus aggressive. He donned the fire with thunder at the ground, shaking the pillars. The remaining soldiers ran back to save himself. Now it left with Zeus and Omar. the dusk appeared and the darkness took over the battlefield. It was the time to take their weapons down and return back to their camps. Omar was dissatisfied and tried to kill Zeus in the dark but Zeus ended up penetrating his sword right into Omar’s abdomen. It left Omar shocked and Zeus returned pleased from the spot. The commander noticed Omar’s difficulty and helped the king to get down from the chariot. He dragged the king’s body a little far until Omar fell and vomited blood from his mouth. His eyes went speechless. “Take me to my queen…” Omar stuttered while gazing at his commander’s eyes. “Yes, your majesty.. Just hold on that long…..” the commander lifted Omar and ran as fast as he could.
